The team at CSS has been a lifesaver to me in finding exceptional home care for a loved one recently diagnosed with dementia. From working with their initial intake team to communicating with their office staff and owner, to finding the perfect caregiver, they have been at all times utterly professional, incredibly responsive and equally compassionate. I initially tried to work with one of their competitors and was so frustrated by that company’s lack of service and understanding of my needs that I sought a referral from A Place for Mom. That service referred me to CSS, I received a call within a half hour, and I have been grateful ever since. What a stellar team they are. Thank you to everyone at CSS!

Finding Meredith and CSS Home Care was a godsend. They have provided my mother with excellent care givers and case management responding to any and all problems quickly and compassionately. I live more than 3000 miles away and rarely am able to visit. The excellent, knowledgeable and compassionate care that CCS Home Care has provided my mom has allowed her to live in her home and has given me great peace of mind over the past few years I am forever grateful to Meredith and her team and would recommend their service to anyone.

What distinguishes CSS from other agencies is Meredith’s viewpoint as a highly qualified social worker – and she has colleagues with similar training. She has remarkable insight into every human being who comes into her professional life: her clients, her staff, her home-​care workers. Every single person who works for CSS is deeply compassionate and skilled. The match between client and home-​care worker was achieved with the utmost sensitivity – by a colleague who is also a social worker. My husband’s condition, both mental and physical, was challenging, yet everyone from CSS met the challenge. I myself was under tremendous strain, and when I seemed unable to manage decisions, Meredith came to the house and met with me, my husband, and our two daughters (one of them participating via Skype). We arrived at a consensus, and she made sure that we wrote down our decisions and signed them. Meredith went to extraordinary lengths to help with our complicated insurances, which were way beyond my ability to handle. She also managed the transfer from her agency to assisted living with knowledge and grace. Is there another agency in the Bay Area like CSS? I doubt it.

I can’t express what an incredible help CSS was when my father was seriously ill and mostly home-​bound for months. We came to them from another agency that did not seem to supervise their aides well. CSS not only provided really skilled and kind aides, but they were ALWAYS available, even at off hours, and always came through for us. They also had a really sophisticated understanding of the complexities of family relations and beautifully negotiated some really difficult conversations between my whole family. They made a very difficult time easier.

My partner and I work very long hours. It was quite difficult and exhausting trying to be caregivers to her 85 year old mother as well. CSS Home Care & Senior Services has taken so much stress out of our lives. Just knowing Mom is well-​cared for, has help with her daily routines, has someone to take her shopping, do laundry and provide companionship makes all the difference in the world. CSS Home Care & Senior Services also provides personalized services: our caregiver reminds Mom to take her medications, and helps her with bathing and grooming. We are very pleased with the service we receive, and very happy to have such a competent, caring and conscientious caregiver taking care of Mom.

Let me start out by saying that I am a registered nurse working in home care so I know what quality care and case management looks like.
Meredith, the owner of this company, was my beloved grandmother’s private case manager towards the end of her life. I suggested my dad hire a private case manager as her dementia was getting worse and my dad was having a hard time coping and managing her medical and emotional needs.
Meredith coordinated doctors appointments, coached my dad through dealing with dementia, helped arrange for and provide caregivers, and offered moral and emotional support and guidance for my grandmother and the whole family.
My grandmother passed away peacefully at home, and I don’t think it would have gone as well as it did without the help and support of Meredith and her team. Meredith was very patient with my grandmother who was wary of new people and afraid of relinquishing control as her dementia progressed. She also handled the tense family dynamics of end of life care very well and was almost like a family member during that time, we knew we could count on her.
