How many tries does it take for Kim at Ponzo to get a haircut right? Granted, she only charges $ 30 but that means you have to go back twice to fix her mistakes. For $ 30 she spritzes your hair instead of washing, and cuts it damp.
The first time, she gave me a «Poodle cut.» She showed me a book of haircuts from 1980 or so. I felt like «Breakfast Club 1982» with a mop of hair on the top.
Kim never returned my phone calls to set up another appointment. She had encouraged me to return if anything was wrong. She seems to do a thriving business.
She hurriedly fixed the cut, telling me she was busy because she was going on vacation. I was supposed to feel grateful. I implored her to take the extra hair from the top and sides, but when I got home I noticed a «Mohawk effect» with a strip of longer hair down the top and back.
Kim said, just come back if anything’s wrong. I’m sharpening the shears for my de-​mohawk. I paid $ 30 and way more in lost time and productivity, a bad bargain in my book. And bad attitude to match.
