Oooh baby, what to say about this bakery? First off, it’s top notch, the bread and sweets are always baked fresh and always permeate the room with heavenly goodness. Secondly, they open very early and bring new meaning to the term«Wake & Bake». Thirdly, the cost is spot on for anyone’s pocket, I don’t know anywhere else that you can stretch your waistline for less than a buck. Come here or don’t, well actually don’t come here because there may not be enough to fatten me up. I’m just kidding, come here often and try the buttery sugar bread and fresh baked rolls, they will have you walking into the light, just be prepared to never get your god back.

My mom brought home a bag of their Butter Biscuits and OMGWHATARETHESEWHEREHAVETHEYBEENALLMYLIFE. They are just slices of French bread that are toasted for the gods and coated to death with sugar. They are simple and they are simply delicious! The toasted bread is ridiculously crunchy, but not in a hard way that breaks your teeth. These other reviewers are correct; these things are addicting. A must try!

If you lookin’ for some BOMB pastries, this is the SPOTT!!! Don’t judge a book buy its cover! the outside may look a little industrial and factory-like, but it’s a pure GEM and the owners are such nice people! Been livin’ in East Bay for about a year now but haven’t had the chance to try it until I moved to Alameda. If you’re located in Fremont, trust, it’s worth the drive. Heck, if you’re located in San Jose even, it’s WORTH it. The butter biscuit here is like crack. Yes, I said it. Crack. Perfectly buttered w/the right amount of sugar to it. They roll em out FRESH everyday! RACKSONRACKSONRACKS! I brought some home for my mom(she lives in Sac) and now she won’t stop nagging me about getting her more every time I go back so she can give it to her friends!!!(Looks like i’m bout to become a regular here REAL soon!) Goes perfect with a morning cup of coffee but delicious on its own too! Got me goin’ back almost every weekend just to get my fix ;) Prices are amazing since it’s only 2 bucks for each bag! The other thing I’ve tried is the croissant. OHLAWDDDJESUS, have mercy on my soul. I feel like i stepped right into heaven. Perfectly fresh, moist, and w/a perfect amount of buttery love to it. You’ll fall in love, no doubt. They have other stuff too like dinner rolls and banh mis(for all my Viet /Chinese peeps out there). Still have yet to try, but I’m positive that it’ll get my fat-a$$ coming back for more! It only opens till 1pm so be sure to satisfy that cravin’ and get yo fix in before then!

Industrial-looking bakery(as they mass-produce their baked goods). Don’t let the appearance of the place fool you, they’ve got bomb products. Nice, young man assisted me with my purchase so I was in and out of the building within 2 minutes. Bought: bag of croissants(delicious, sinfully buttery), bag of french baguettes(the best banh mi joints use this exact product; light crunch on the outside, nice and chewy on the inside), bag of toasted, buttered, and sugared french bread slices(aweeeesome).

This bakery is a Jewel! Dropped in 15 minutes before closing and was actually offered warm bread from the cooling racks! This bakery is so close to my home that I was able to take the bread home and compose my sandwiches almost before the bread had completely cooled. They make the most perfect sandwich rolls that I have tasted in the bay area. If you enjoy bread that is has an eggshell thin crust that encases a soft interior of buttery goodness then I suggest that you go directly to this bakery and check it out.

This place is a MUSTGO and tried if you are in town or close by!!! Their Croissants are huge and amazing. SUPERYUMMY!!! These croissants are very fluffy and soft. Bought a few packages home. Tastes awesome especially when you warm it up. Make sandwiches and enjoy with a glass of milk and coffee makes a PERFECT breakfast /lunch. Will definitely go back to try out their other baked goods.

pretty much the best French baguette I’ve had in the Bay Area. my review is based solely on their bread to which they wholesale and deliver to my local Chinese market here in SF. not so sure how good their Vietnamese sandwiches are at all, but I honestly haven’t had a good Banh Mi in ages. Huong Lan in SJ, Ba Le in Oakland, a few hole in the wall cafes in the Tenderloin are good but, I really just like Bui Phong’s bread. If only everyone could combine forces, it’d make for a killer sandwich. I’m not one to go for a fusion Vietnamese sandwich made with ACME bread either. that’s just weird.

Hands down the best bread in Oakland! The quality is far better than anything you could find anywhere else. You can find french rolls; baked perfectly with the perfect amount of crunchiness and softness, huge buttery croissants and my personal favorite; the butter biscuits. I warn you, you wont be able to just have one because they’re so good! The bread and butter biscuits will have you coming back again and again. Bui phong gets 5 stars for the delicious bread and the unbeatable prices!

The bread here is amazing… And such a good deal! It is all fresh, made daily and tastes great. I pick up a couple dozen a week and make all sorts of sandwiches with them. I would highly recommend the dozen of sweet rolls($ 2 and much fresher than the Hawaiian rolls you buy in a store). Parking can be a pain because this place gets busy but if you can find a spot on the side streets it is free. Enter from side door and give your order. In and out in less than 5, spent $ 9 on 2 huge bags of bread, rolls and croissants. A bread lovers dream come true!

Man, their Croissants are large and in charge. I picked up a bag of them at Banh Mi Ba Le, located down the street from Biuphong. Banh Mi stocks their Croissants and Butter Biscuits and is open later, so don’t fret if you need your fix after this bakery closes. The Croissants(at least the packaged ones I got) aren’t crispy like traditional croissants, but they were definitely fresh and definitely amazing. Very soft, with just the right amount of that buttery taste you expect, their large Croissants beg to be pulled apart and enjoyed with a glass of coffee or milk. I definitely want to drop by and see what else they offer, and if the in-house Croissants are any different from the packaged ones I picked up at Banh Mi.

Oh maaan. My family and I have been buying from Bui-phong since I was in elementary(I just finished my 3rd year of college) I still go there every single time I’m home. The pan bolillo is BADASS. the long baguettes are always fresh and soft. They are beyond perfection. The bread with the butter on it as many people have mentioned is, in fact, amazing. The croissants are delicious… what isn’t delicious? Seriously check them out if you want to change your thoughts on pan bolillo. LA bakery breads do NOT compare.

They have the best French crunchy sugar butter sandwich slice in Oakland. My coworker falls in love with it right after she has a bite of it. I give a whole bag to her. I deffinitely get another bag tomorrow.

Very cheap baked goods. I’ve only tried their toasted butter french bread with sugar. They’re crispy slices of bread that have been toasted with butter and sugar. They’re addicting for the first few times, but I’ve continued to enjoy them. They also have croissants, but they were unavailable when I stopped by. I wish they had hours that met my schedule ;( Their interior looks like a mix between a material science/industry laboratory and a professional kitchen.

LIKEBAHNMISANDWICHES??? 44 the buns. This bakery supplies most of the bread for Oakland’s Vietnamese joints. Stop by n see the place. You might pass it up tho. It’s been in operation for years. They place the rejects out by the dumpster early in the morning(way early). My pigeons thank them tho.
