i really hate to post this negative review but it must be done. i don’t like to shop at big box stores so i bought my printer from BI&T. turns out the printer i bought will not work for the project i bought it for. i wanted to bring it back and after a week of calling i finally got the owner who said ‘no’. i explained staples or any of the other big box stores would accept the return and she still said no becuz she would have to ‘eat it’ since it was used. my response was ‘either i eat it or you’ and apparently she is fine with me ‘eating my 150 bucks for a printer that will not serve me’ for the project i bought it for. so, it’s a big box store for me although i know staples doesn’t need anymore money! a fair and decent return policy is part of customer service.

Great service! I called and asked them to hold a cartridge for me, as it was the last one in stock for my printer. I picked it up and took it home, and then my printer seemed to reject it. I called back and the guy who was there(sorry, forgot your name) had no more left in stock but offered to bring a replacement to my house after he closed the store and went to their Berkeley store to pick it up! That’s a lot of extra service right there. When he got here after trying 3 cartridges we discovered that the problem was a printer error. But his troubleshooting also saved the day, meaning I didn’t end up trying to replace my printer or do a lot of useless research into the problem. Thanks again for going the extra mile! I didn’t even check to see how their prices stacked up against bigger retailers; I was in a hurry to get my printer working at tax time. But IMO this is one of the reasons to shop at the small neighborhood business instead of the big box store.

made a call late friday afternoon to see if they could refill or exchange a 901 ink cartridge i got from Cartridge World. being that they were affiliated with them but not now. brought it in saturday morn. to show them. they were out of stock, took my cartridge, said they would get in touch with me on monday. mondays gone, no calls, no messages. it’s good i made backup plans. 2.5 stars and sinking… 4⁄16 update: got a call midafternoon saying cartridge ready on saturdays but associate got finish and didn’t properly leave a message on my phone. –will try to get to them soon. should never have dropped off the cartridge. it’s not them, it’s me, scheduling too inflexible. 4⁄17 update: got cartridge. with a discount and a frequent user card, buy 7, get 8th free *got request to upgrade rating. declining for now. haven’t used cartridge yet. also vibes from Bay not customer friendly.

This is the best place I’ve found to refill my ink jet cartridges. Staff always very helpful, gave me good tips on what printer to buy to get good quality with refilled carts. Saved a lot over time.

Cool, after wandering all over downtown in 4 different stores,(Rite Aid, Walgreens, Radio Shack, FedEx) and finding that everyone only carries HP ink, this place had my Epson ink, right in my neighborhood. Woman at the counter was friendly, and ink was OK price. Apparently they do a rewards card — 10th free, but I don’t buy enough for that. No beer, but check out Barclay’s next door.
