They are thorough, well organized and do terrific work. After another — much cheaper — frame shop ruined our large Chanel prints I brought in the remaining two and Tom and his team reframed them. Since then we bring all of our work here as they are reliable and do work that is made to last.

Did a great job on re-​framing a watercolor for me!

My wife and I had gotten some wonderful family portraits, including one really large one, that needed framing. I was dreading it a bit as I thought it would be a long and difficult process to pick a frame. The owner of Art Loft did an amazing job do showing us great options and then honing in on our preferences. It was a much quicker and easier process than I expected and the results are fantastic. It was not cheap, though the Unilocal deal helped, but I think this is a get what you pay for situation.

This is a wonderful place! There are framing choices for any type of artwork and experienced guidance with your framing project. Work is always done on time and always surpasses expectations!

I decided to finally get all of my diplomas framed. I was convinced to go the whole nine yards and get the double matting, UV protectant glass, etc. They did a great job, and I trusted them with my valuable diplomas, but I am embarrassed to say how much it cost. It’s been a while, so I don’t remember exactly, but I wanna say I spent close to $ 1000 for 5 diplomas. At least it’s something I hopefully won’t need to do again. The Unilocal deal for $ 30 off or something was a mere drop in the bucket. Erin B. summarizes it brilliantly.

Tom has been framing my «art» for well over 30 years, and I continue to be astounded with his creativity and imagination. I just let him work his magic, and it’s always wonderful.

Every day I look at the work, I like it more than I did yesterday. I couldn’t have come up with this on my own. I didn’t have to.

We like to buy relatively cheap art from our travels and dress them up with sometimes funky, sometimes fancy frames. Ikea frames for the bedrooms, Aaron brothers for the family spaces: kitchen, playroom and bathrooms, but for the guest areas: front hall, living and dining rooms, I wanted really high quality framing. I was worried that I’d have to go across the bridge into SF to get that, but am happy to report that I found a place right here in the east bay, Art Loft. Yes, it’s pretty expensive, and yes, it might take some time, but it’s all worth it.
Tom’s shop seems small, but it’s full of great options, and he has a great eye for unexpected combinations. Let him do his magic!

Tom and his staff turned an original painting (a cartoon-​ish painting of Charlie Munger!) into a beautiful piece of framed art. This was a gift for my husband and Tom took the time to talk about complimentary colors, types of frames, and even the types of wood available for the frame. In the end the picture was amazing and my husband was floored with surprise. The finished product was top notch — very high quality. You get what you pay for at Art Loft. I will never go anywhere else.

Last week I had an unusual photograph of my girlfriend blown up to 3′ square, and wanted it framed for her husband’s birthday. I had altered it and made it a bit Warhol-​ish. I was also up against a deadline, having decided on this particular print at the last minute.
Tom was great. He got into the spirit of the project and pumped it out in a matter of a few hours. He is very sure of himself, which kind of made me want to make my own decisions about how to frame and matte it, but in the end I went with his suggestions, and I’m so glad I did. The picture is now spectacular! Birthday boy was very pleased.
When you are going to have something as prominent and lasting as a framed picture on your wall, loosen up your wallet and have the professionals take care of it. (Tom has a line of frames for the budget minded). You will be forever grateful that you did. The quality is obvious.
Now I want a copy of that picture nicely framed and hanging on my own wall…

Life is full of trade offs, cost vs quality and service. With the Art Loft you will always get a quality product with great service from Tom and his staff. I will say that you will also pay for that but when the work you are looking to frame or you want to make a unique mirror with a frame then this place is also the best value. Frame it your self places have worked for poster framing for me but most everything that I really cherished I have taken to Tom. I have a mirror that is really unique to my home and looks like an Asian antique. Fab.
