It’s a covered garage which is great and a decent price. However there are times when the garage is full. Problem is I saw cars being let in before and after me. So I asked the security guard is the lot really full because I can see a lot of spots open on the 6th and higher levels. He just says«what does the sign say!?» I respond I can see and read the sign but I can see multiple levels of open spots. He answers angrily«what does the sign say!?» I reply I already answered you and I can see and read the sign, but why is the lot showing full, I can see spots on multiple levels from the ground. He turns away and doesn’t respond. I park elsewhere and come back as I wanted to know why some people are allowed in. So I ask and he believes I am recording him since I have my phone out. He finally says it is because electric cars, handicap, and those with a special pass are allowed in. I ask how do I get a special pass he says«you don’t!» So I got a partial answer and decide to walk away when I hear the security guard angrily yell«kick yo ass». I turned around and asked him what he said And he changed his tone and said I see you recording me so when you report this make sure it is right. This is my first report and it is right. You may wonder why I went back to ask mainly because I am currently on a jury, this garage offers a 1 $ discount to jurors, it’s covered and it was raining this today with more in the forecast. Also other members on my jury are able to park here and they show up after me. We were all wondering why I get turned away as the same happened to me yesterday when other jurors where allowed in after me. Just FYI the other jurors do not have electric cars, handicapped or have the special pass mentioned. I also asked others at a neighboring lot why the ALCO lot shows full when spots can be seen. They said they didn’t know why either and weren’t given an answer when they asked as well. So in summary it is a decent garage with a hostile security guard. Security should just answer the question when people ask rather then escalating a situation by saying something about kicking ass.

It was my first time in the area and when I pulled up the garage was full. Fine. But the attendant was very rude when I asked where else I could park. I just asked a simple question, there was no need to be rude.

**ATTN: CONTRACTORS** We have been going here for many years to conduct business at the recorders office. This is the only secure, PUBLIC garage in the immediate area. All of a sudden, last month a new ABC Security guard at the gate(Derek) stopped allowing entry to trucks with racks. After several phone calls to management, and emails(claimed to have not been received) the security guard was contacted by his boss and told that he is not allowed to turn people away who are below the height requirement. This set us back 2 days and as a small business in this economy was quite costly. If you are not allowed entry, contact ABC Security(510) 436‑0666 and ask for Clinton.

I’m usually able to find a spot in the afternoon. It’s great for parking near Chinatown businesses for more than a couple of hours. The rates are reasonable, though they’re only open until 7. There’s a kiosk for payment by cash or card, but cash-only payment is an option on the drive out. The credit card reader may be funky, but the security guy at the desk is always eager to offer suggestions.
