I recently bought shades for all my windows from Alcatraz Shade Shop. Great staff and professional service. Lindsey worked with me step by step from the beginning to the end making sure I knew my options. She and Leo installed my shades and they are perfect. I am very happy. If you are looking for new window coverings I highly recommend you shop here. It’s a local business that has served the community for many years. Thanks Lindsey and Leo.

What a wonderful Mom and Pop local window covering store and more. The staff are so lovely every time I need to have a repair or order a new shade. They are always able to accommodate any window covering need I have. They even made me custom pillows out of my own cool vintage fabric. Prices are very reasonable, maybe not the cheapest but the friendly staff are always willing to take the time to listen to my needs. I have lived in the Bay area my whole life and my parents even shopped at The Alcatraz Shade Shop back in the 1970’s.
I love the old fashioned appeal of this shop. The clever marquee makes me smile every time I drive by.
Just another great staple in Oakland.
