New York Subs & Wings

Best wings in town. I order from here all the time.
Only problem I have currently with them is they changed the sauce for the onion rings. It used to be this delicious zesty stuff, and now its just mayo and ketchup mixed.
Also, they no longer deliver the special priced wings when they have them. Which has stopped me from ordering in certain situations because of it. They would make a ton more money (at least from me) if they delivered them. I really dont see what the problem would be, I’d buy 40 wings and pay the delivery fee and tip the driver. Everyone wins. Think about it owners.

Would probably do good if ever open. Place always looks closed. I tried it once and the food was good

This place is only open when they feel like showing up. Open one day, closed for two. Zero trust is quality control in places like that.

Best wings in Florida… Amazing…plump wings that will make your mouth water! On top of the awesome food… it is like your eating with your family. If you haven’t tried their wings, your missing out! The sauces are perfect… wings slightly crispy but at the same time juicy and tender! Sooooo good! Clean kitchen… clean dining areas and clean rest rooms! Every thing is on point… they put their heart and soul into this place! Perfect!!!

Exactly what it says on the tin! And I’m so glad I found this place.
Large Loaded cheesesteak ($ 10?) was really good and the kids devoured the Kids Chicken Wing Meals ($ 6) with their own choice of wing sauce.
Love the thick steak fries.

The service is great, really polite. Also Very clean, but seems to be missing a seasoned restaurant manager’s eye for detail that would polish the place into a great «Must Visit» diamond.
Put it this way, my kids asked to go to NY Subs this morning for breakfast!

Superior wings — best I have ever tasted — and attentive waitress. «Basket» of fries for $ 2.50 had only about 12 pieces. An offer for a discount for a text message was posted but I was unable to use it because «there was no manager».
Very clean store.

Not sure why Unilocal let me down on this place. Saturday lunch… dead. Maybe it’s a business lunch place?
Anyway steak sandwich with pickles peppers? Turkey Reuben with thick cut, dries out turkey? Service less than par, attitudes with a capital T (for ‘tude), but maybe that’s what they are going for — cliché New York ‘tude? Don’t know, but this should not be almost 5 stars!

The location was formerly the home of New York Sandwich Shop but now New York Subs & Wings. Though they both start with the name New York, the two are not to be confused because the food and customer service at New York Subs & Wings is substantially better.
I’ve stopped by here a couple of times and in my opinion the term «New York» might be somewhat misleading if it conjures up thoughts of New York City in your mind, as the general style and preparations seem to me more akin to the foods of Western New York maybe those of the Buffalo region because when it comes to wings, they seem to have that certain knack in about doing them right, a talent not very commonly found in the New York City area. They really are some of the best, being larger, deep fried at correct temperatures, meaty, juicy, and full of flavor.
On my most recent visit, however, I had their corned beef with sauerkraut and melted cheese on rye. On that count though it was OK, nothing of note, certainly nothing like the corned beef sandwiches common to the New York City area.
But what I liked about the place was the friendliness of it and the staff. It might be a family operation. It kind of felt that way, certainly nothing chainy about it and unlike those chain fast food operations, made me feel right at home and valued as a customer. Hence, I’m going Four Stars on New York Subs & Wings.

I must say I’m impressed. This place is pretty new. It used to be Spankys cheesesteak factory, which I thought had the best wings and cheesesteak in town. And then sadly they closed down. But this here, I was amazed how good their wings tasted. Large size wings and pretty hot. Blue Cleese is good and chunky, obviously homemade. Just don’t get their fries… Rip off for the little they give u and it was all dried up. I haven’t tried any of their other food but I will. I’m just glad I found a place for wings to replace spankys. :)

Had the MYM burger… Best burger I’ve had in town! Sweet potato fries were awesome! Will definitely eat there again and again!

This one of those places that has changed owners so many times it makes your head spin.
First the good: the food which is the most important is quite good. The Pastrami Ruben was a nicely overstuffed sandwich with a nice dose of sauce and kraut. It leaned a bit to the soggy side, but I guess that goes with the territory.
The chicken fingers were rather generic Sysco style. The sauce (hot) was very good, and tasted homemade. The fries and rings were good, but again appeared to be a frozen item.
On the NOT so good: strangely it’s a table service restaurant. It looks like fast food, but there’s a waitress. She was very pleasant, but it seemed unnecessary. Drinks are served in foam cups from a fountain in the dining room, and the flatwear was plastic. Overall the restaurant would be better served as counter service, rather than a full service with a final bill of over $ 30 (ok, it would have been a little less, but the waitress misunderstood a request so we got fries and rings)

Nice atomsphere. Food was great and quality of ingredients seem to be decent. Waitress was young but did not question our order or the request for a new cold mug with my second beer. we do appreciate the home cooked feeling and family owned atmosphere of this clean little food joint.

Having table service at a place this small drives me nuts!
Everyone is very friendly which makes all the difference.

Wings were good but they should stick to franks red hot. This may just be a personal preference of mine.

They gave us a large yellow paper survey to fill out at the end which was weird (that’s what Unilocal is for)

Nice, friendly place. Ruben with corned beef was pretty good. A little greasy but nice and crispy. Side of macaroni salad was very good. Service was very attentive. The wings and onion rings looked really good, will sample next time.

So I have been craving wings for a few days. I used to go to Wilton swings but never again after their state ordered shut down. From there I went to Wings Plus. They got too expensive and the place is kinda dirty. So today I find this place. How incredible!!! The staff was ALL very friendly and GENUINE! We all know when they greet us because they have to. But these people are PROUD of their job and show it! Smiles and conversation made me feel very welcome. I was shocked my wings and sweet potato fries came to $ 12! The wings were big and meaty and perfectly cooked, though a touch light on sauce. I’m still giving a 5 star though. I WILL be back for $ 0.50 wing Tuesdays!

Found this place via a quick Google search at work one day when I was in the mood for some chicken wings. Saw some pretty good reviews here on Unilocal so I decided to try it out.
They have a pretty large menu for the size of the restaurant. There were several people working and all were smiling and seemed happy to be there. I ordered 10 wings «hot» and a large order of fries. Everything is made-​to-​order so if you’re in a rush you better call ahead. I don’t mind waiting for fresh food so this wasn’t an issue.
The food came out just as promised, hot and fresh. The wings were delicious, neither overcooked or soggy and the sauce was awesome. I could tell it wasn’t anything pre-​packaged or bottled. Another big plus was the size of the wings (they’re not those tiny meatless wings that can be found at other shops nearby — 10 is a solid portion.) And the fries were excellent… large, hand-​cut and not too greasy.
The price point is average. Just about what I’d expect to pay for the quality of the food & service. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. This place is well-​kept and one of the cleaner restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. I will definitely be back here for some wings in the near future.

The food was on point, I can’t complain. I ordered the chicken tenders in a spicy honey sauce. The order comes with a choice of fries, onion rings, or sweet potato fries. The tenders and fries were all really good and i will definitely be back to try something else.
The place has alot of space and is good for large groups, as well as an outside sitting area. The staff was nice and friendly and are eager to please.

I’m so delighted that this place opened up right around the corner from our place! So delicious!
We dropped in to get some carry out this afternoon. I hadnt had good wings in ages, and I wanted to give this place a try. I was excited because when I perused the menu posted by another Unilocaler, they called their «subs» «hoagies» and as a native Philadelphian, that made them ok in my book. After some quick online research, I learned the people who opened the restaurant are from buffalo, so they had to have skills, right? So glad we took a chance on them!
We order two 10-​packs of wings. We immediately decided on the honey gold hot as our spicy wing choice. We debated for a long time on our second choice, but ultimately decided on seasoned based on the recommendation of a girl behind the counter. The honey gold hot were tangy with flavorful heat. They weren’t knock your socks off hot, but they were honey based so I didnt expect that. We did get a couple tiny containers of their hot sauces (amazing). So much flavor behind the heat!
They make all the wings fresh to order! And they are worth the wait! The wings are juicy and perfectly cooked. As amazing as the honey gold hot were, they couldn’t compare to the seasoned. Oh. My. God. The seasoned wings are some of the best wings I’ve ever had. Perfectly fried and with complex flavor. I almost always use the ranch or blue cheese with my wings, but I didnt touch it!
I’m so excited to go back and try all the other flavors. And I will definitely have a hoagie… if you can get me to order something other than the seasoned wings!
