I used this shop a few months ago & am still smarting from that experience. I’ve been an avid cyclist for nearly 30 years. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on bikes, repairs & accessories. I recently moved to North Fork from So Cal & needed to find a shop to handle my cycling needs. So I chose this shop, since it’s the closest & looks like a nice shop! I broke a shift cable on one of my mt bikes & needed a tire re-sealed with Stans liquid. Dropped it off, got a call a few days later saying it needed another cable & jacket, also they suggested a new tire rather than just re-sealing it. They also suggested putting Stans in the other tire. I ok’ed it(never gotta quote though). Got a 2nd call it was done. Went to pick it up & they still needed to do something on it to complete the repair. So I browsed thru the store while their mech finished up. It was only 3 of us in the store, myself, mech(working in the back), & Rick the owner, was in the showroom. The mech was helpful, skilled & friendly. However, Rick never greeted me or said squat to me until I settled my outrageous bill. 1 non Kevlar tire, 2 shift cables & related cable adjustment. Squirt of Stans liquid in both tires, 2 valve stem…$ 278!!! Shame on me for not asking for a quote, but as I said, nearly 30 years of cycling experience & was never«bent over» like this. Prior to this experience & have contacted the shop regarding trail info, group rides, etc… even ran into Rick at a local century & asked him about local rides & still got no help. Nice looking store. Mech was friendly & skilled. Owner was impersonal. Prices were outrageous. Now, though inconvenient, I drive to a nice shop in Fresno to spend my cycling money, which is a shame, but I’m treated better & the prices are fair

Great beta on the underrated riding in the area. The shop is Specialized specific and I’ve had some interesting convos about bike maintenance and choices. I find the staff to be very cool; translation, if you know what’s up then it goes smoothly but if you are looking for cheap fixes to junky bikes, head to Walmart. These guys live mountain biking!

I was greeted right away all three times i have been in this shop. They have great products and more knowledge than most shops i have been to. I am new to the area and the guys also gave me good advice on trail riding. Great to know i have a local shop that can handle my needs and my business.

I went to mow my lawn and had a flat tire and then broke the plastic connection valve on my very nice foot pump. I went to spiffy-looking Yosemite Bicycle where I was told I would have to by a whole new pump. On a whim, I stopped by well-worn Tire & Cycle and within 5 minutes, Lonnie found a brass replacement, cut off the old, put on the new, charged me a fair price and happily sent me on my way. After reading Unilocal*reviews of both places, I see my experience at both places mirrors many others’. Don’t judge a book by its cover!

I had a very different experience from some of the other reviewers. I was visiting the area and wanted to do some mountain biking but didn’t know where to go. The owner & manager are very helpful. They spent about a ½ hour telling me about local mountain biking trails, gave me some maps, and the owner even took me out for a ride on 007 so I wouldn’t be riding alone. While I was in the store they helped other people who were non-bikers with their bike problems(flats, wheel problems, etc) and they were very helpful and gave great & immediate service. Excellent mountain biking in this area, with a great bike store and very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely check them out! Scott

Terrible experience that ended up wasting my entire day and nothing was ever done to my bike, and no apologies or attempt to rectify the situation. I called a week ahead of time and talked to a very rushed person. I told him my situation: that they were the nearest bike shop to me in Yosemite and that it was a 1.5 hour drive to bring my bike in for service. I asked what time and when would work for them. He told me if I came in on Tuesday at 10 they could prioritize my bike and get my bike done by the end of the day so I didn’t have to make multiple 1.5 hour drives to Oakhurst. After being super excited all week to get my bike tuned and a few new parts, I show up right at 10. The owner was a couple minutes late and didn’t seem to remember our conversation. Furthermore, the bike mechanic doesn’t start work until noon he says. Ok. So we go over what I want and the whole time he is complaining about how my older Fuji road bike isn’t really compatible with current parts and how they mainly focus on mountain bikes anyway. OK. So I leave and spend 5.5 hours in Oakhurst, CA, waiting for a phone call about the parts we had talked about, maybe a status update on the mechanic’s workload. Nothing. So after 5.5 hours, I go in to check the status of my tune-up. I see my bike sitting outside so I think wow, maybe they finished. No. They hadn’t touched it. The mechanic seems confused about which bike is mine and there are now bikes everywhere in the workshop, they weren’t there this morning. Not sure where they came from. Instead of apologizing and trying to get to my bike right away, the owner kept blaming the mechanic saying its his workload and up to him what bikes he does first. The entire experience was very impersonal and weird, like they didn’t want to work on my road bike. After the whole day being wasted I tried to buy a screw for my front cassete. The guy brings out a used one and after a few minutes of scouring his computer for a price, he comes up with $ 4.96 for a little screw. Wont be coming back to this place nor recommending it to any Yosemite cyclists.

A man, his wife, and their two boys walked into a local bike shop in a Saturday evening to look at new bicycles for their growing children. Hello, Christmas is coming! We were not greeted. We found the size we were looking for on our own. Still not acknowledged. Our boys tried them out. Still nothing from anyone in the shop. Needless to say, we left with nothing, no goodbyes… Aaaand that’s a huge loss on their part because based on the prices that could have been a decent $ 500 sale to end your evening. Really too bad because we are moving up from Fresno and we do like to shop at local businesses but I’m not big on poor customer service so I’ll make the drive down the hill to a shop where they take the time to talk to people that walk in the door.

This place is the best, and Tim is exceptionally helpful! I was in a dire emergency where I had two flat tires within one week, and he was super helpful to help me change the tube and put new tires on. When it happened again several days later(flat tire), he changed the tube as a courtesy and no charge. I’m happy to have found a place that cares about their customers and treats them as friends rather than looking at them as dollar signs. Tim rocks!

Went in there to ask about some local trails. Guy barely even looked at me. I’m from out of town and I was hoping to get some Info on some trails. I got nothing. I didn’t even bother asking for some parts I needed. They’re jerks. Don’t even bother going there. Simply put … don’t bother.

Don’t use this shop. It’s a rip off. Took a bike in to be repaired and they didn’t even touch it. They did however take our money. The guy must need it to pay for his $ 11,000 bike he was bragging about. Asked for a refund and they refused. They maybe local, but drive to Fresno instead of getting ripped off.
