We had spent months waiting on our deck contractor… gave Chris a call to see what his thoughts were on our project – wondering if concrete may be a better way to go? What kind of time line would be looking at? Budget?
Chris was out to our home in a matter of DAYS… and because we had been waiting so long on the other contractor – he worked us in and within 2 weeks of our call, he was out here doing the job. We had existing concrete that needed to be refreshed and the new concrete needed to match. He did a fantastic job bringing the two areas together and worked until he was satisfied with a color match. The icing on the cake?!? We came in UNDER BUDGET from our original deck plan.
What I like the most about working with Chris, is that he is great at giving «direction» in a project. He has good ideas, a strong attention to detail and he works very hard to communicate with the customer so there are no surprises. Bottom line, he wants the customer happy! We had an «idea» about what we wanted and Chris made a few suggestions and I am so glad he did! The design, the color, EVERYTHING… looks better than we could have ever imagined. He goes above and beyond for the customer. RARE in the construction world.
Thanks, Chris, for a wonderful job and for including us in the fun! We have some great pictures of our family «helping» throughout the process. I guess that is another thing I like about Chris and his crew. Very family friendly, we felt very comfortable having them on property and were actually a bit sad to see them go… They were here on time, called to follow up if I was not home, gave us good instruction and information throughout the process.

Chris and his assistant stained and sealed our driveway and garage floor and it was a perfect match to our home exterior and landscaping. Chris does not have an easy job though! I’m making a note here that one of the trickiest things about staining concrete is that the colour richness and hue does not really take hold until the seal and/​or epoxy is applied. We went through this exercise during the staining process (as I expressed some concern for the lightness of the stain) and Chris explained the process with patience, kindness and consideration. At no point was I pressured, lied to, bullshitted or hustled to make a fast-​decision or accept a job I was not happy with. He assured me that the colour would be what we wanted once sealed, and lo… it was. :) Chris knows what he is doing and his rate was competitive too!
After almost an entire year spent renovating our home and working with a host of cast and characters from the Fresno area, Chris from Surface Solutions was like a gift from the Gods. A contractor who showed up on time, didn’t cancel, answered his phone, stuck to his quote, and produced a gorgeous end-​result was a sheer delight to work with.
I trust Chris and his work and will be reaching out to him in the future for recommendations for other contractors to hire in the Fresno area who have a work ethic and quality of product as good as he does.
