Middle of the night diner stop. Open 24 hours. Onion rings greasy and not a great flavor but crunchy. One friend had a fancy coffee and crumb cake and enjoyed it. Another had a huge chicken sandwich. Messy but enjoyed it. Waiter competent and friendly. Okay, so why one star. A total dealbreaker that screams«DONOTCOMEBACKEVER». Little old guy running the register. Seemed friendly enough but could not do the job at all. ATALL. I was standing to pay behind four drunk girls who had driven their car half way up the curb. They of course were all paying separate check. Oh well. So, it was taking freking for EVER. Yeah, four people, but still it was just forever. Clearly something was wrong. And then when it was my turn it was clear why. This guy was either on drugs or completely senile. More likely the latter. Sorry if that’s the case, but YOUDON’T LETSOMEONELIKETHISRUN A CASHREGISTER!!! He looked at my bill like it was his first minute on the job. He asked me where we were sitting. He looked at it again. The thing had been scanned in. Scanned in. The total was right there on the screen and he still looked completely and totally befuddled. My friends and I were staring at each other like«WHATTHEHECKISTHISGUY’S PROBLEM?» A newborn opposum should have been able to handle this transaction. He had money spread out all over the place for got knows what reason. My bill was for $ 22.05 and I handed him a 10 and a 20, and he had NOIDEA what to do. First he handed me a 5 and two pennies in change. Then he took it all back and spread out the money all over the place along with a bunch or money from the previous exchanges. At no time did he attempt to enter«$ 30» into the completely automated computerized system. The entire time he had the cash drawer open right there in front of everyone. in the middle of the night. Finally I did get the right change. While I was waiting in line I had given a five to the waiter because the table had already been cleared and reset and I had no idea if I was going to see him again by the time this fakakta cashier was going to straighten this out. I EVENTUALLY got the right change, but God forbid anything had gone wrong. It would have been COMPLETE chaos. Never again will I step foot in a place run so obviously horribly on such a critical issue.

Solid Jersey diner. Great specials that feel homemade. Family owned and operated and a great spot for late-night munchies or breakfast. Gluten-free options as well.

I have been going here for years. It’s family owned and operated. They are open all night which is so awesome when you just want pancakes at 2am on Saturday night. High points are: Breakfast specials Chala bread at the salad bar Good coffee Fried founder wrap The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it’s just not the best food really in and specific department. However it is an above average diner with very good food. I have nothing bad to say. Update: You know what in going to make it a five star

Came in on 5÷15÷16 around 10:15& got the worst service ever by the short Caucasian dark haired 5’4 lady who we had to pay at the counter. Could not believe how rude she was & I will never come to this place again. The waitress was a nice elder lady who I tipped generously but to the rude lady that grabbed my receipt out of my hand SCREWYOU& I wish u nothing but bad luck on the very short miserable life you’ll live. If I could give the place zero stars I would for the service ! So lucky I don’t post this on my social media accounts

My family and I have been going to the Blue Swan for years. It is an Ocean Township institution and one of the longest continuously run diners in the area. It’s obvious the owners and staff take pride in what they’re serving. The portions are huge, but the quality is just as impressive. The produce, the homemade sauces, meats and fish are fresher than you’ll find in any restaurant. Honestly. We usually go on the weekends for breakfast. They have the best pancakes around – putting«pancake houses» to shame. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there and my only gripe is that the menu is so extensive that half the time I can’t decide what I want to eat.

Best diner in the area. Lunch specials are great. My favorite is the Greek Wrap and the rice pudding is a fan favorite.

Have eaten there a few times in the past for lunch & was just fine with me. Today we stopped in for breakfast & the food was very bland. The owlets my husband & I had were ally lacking in flavor(I had one with peppers & onions, & my husband had one with broccoli & cheddar cheese. The home fries really had no flavor, so little that neither f us ate mor than q few bites. Th service was just OK& there was no inquiry en we paid th boo as to how we liked out food. Very underwhelmed & will not go back again unless I hear that they added some flavor to their food.

Relatively easy in and out from their parking lot. This is important because they are on a very busy part of the road. Yes they do have a salad bar but it looked about as basic as there is so I passed on it. I ordered the Hollywood Salad which was essentially a chef’s salad. The helpful and efficient waitress asked if I wanted it chopped. Greats idea. Salad was very fresh and very, very large and I enjoyed it. The gentleman at the register gave me both a pleasant greeting and a friendly goodbye. The bathrooms are a little cramped. Was down this way on business and was glad to have found this place.

A solid diner: Well managed, good food and friendly. Been a customer for years. One of the few diners that has a salad bar, a big plus for me. Huge selection, large servings and price range. Dinners are averaging $ 14-$ 18 now; But it includes a lot. Burgers, gyros, Rubin’s wraps etc. start around $ 7 and go up to $ 12 depending. During the week they have lunch specials that are quite reasonably priced. The good: I’ve always had good luck with their seafood; most notably their salmon dinners. Steaks and chops are always good as well. I often find their sides to be surprisingly good; just today I enjoyed an excellent side of spinish. Made with fresh garlic and herbs;, I wanted more. Disappointments are; «asian» burger, meatloaf recipe could use a refresh. Soups are ok but could use some upgrading and less salt. Roast turkey and chicken are fine but nothing exceptional. There«baked» macaroni and cheese should be skipped. Taste like pasta with cheese sauce poured over it. Management and ownership is always present. Very attentive. They always check in see how you’re enjoying your meal. If I had a complaint; it would be that occasionally they nickel and dime me. Charging me for the to go coffee, despite the fact that I had a meal paid for coffee with it. The staff often sneaks me a paper cup which is appreciated. When I have forgotten things there, they have always find and return whatever it is. Thank you. The wait staff tends to be excellent. A diverse crew age-wise, which is appreciated. I find that the more experienced waitstaff often pays better attention to detail. Congratulations on running such an excellent establishment. A tough and competitive business to be in. I’m am here most Fridays with several members of a nearby club that I belong to; It has become our regular spot.

I enjoyed this diner. My only complaint was that I asked for pickles and cole slaw thinking that it was free because it usually is at diners and they ended up charging us for it. The atmosphere was very nice and so was the service.

Went here today to have breakfast, ordered a breakfast sandwich and wanted 1 piece of French Toast on the side. The guy told me I could only order a full order. I asked if I could order a kids order(in ADDITION to my meal, I wasn’t being cheap)! Nope, I’m over 10 years old. He said there was no way I could have 1 piece of French Toast. Sheesh. All I wanted was 1 piece of French toast, is it that hard do get at a diner? Never a problem at Sunset, All Seasons, Roadside or Amy’s. Go there instead. This isn’t the first time we have had an issue here. The food here is average at best and they couldn’t care less about the customer. And they don’t have peanut butter.

Food was really good. The omelette was good and the home fries were terrific. The Lone Star burger was fantastic and huge. It was large enough for 2 to share. Average cost for large tasty portions. I was impressed and I will return.

Favorite diner at the jersey shore. It’s refreshing to have a diner that actually served fresh locally caught seafood and not the typical monotonous frozen mélange of unappetizing fish. The prices are extremely reasonable and you get a lot for what you pay. It’s an incredibly good value.

Ideal location off route 35 for a quick bite to eat. The food is average. What you would expect from a diner. Went around 11 am on a Friday and it was pretty busy but no wait. Waiter was very nice but had to be reminded a few times to bring things that we had originally ordered. For example she forgot my sausage links that I ordered and the whipped cream on my Belgian waffles. The spicy sausage that came with my meal was NOt spicy at all
