J & H Tackle

Needed to buy a rod for my new penn spinfisher, Stopped by the store and Andrew, a sales person helped me pick out the right rod for my reel. Also gave me advise on the kind of fish I was going for and the different seasons. Great shopping experience. I left there with everything I needed for fishing strippers. Great prices too. I highly recommend J and H tackle for all your fishing needs.

I don’t get all these complaints about bad service. Over the past couple months I have made a few calls, sent an email and stopped in to the store a few times and have nothing but good things to say about the service. Look, this is a tackle shop, not the local pub… the guys are experts on tackle and fishing related subjects, they are not there to be pals or make you feel warm and fuzzy. When I ask a question, they give me the answer. If I ask for advise, they give it to me. Everything I have purchased has been just as expected.

Employees very nasty to customers. It is like they can’t possibly be bothered to answer any questions. I have heard about the poor customer service from a few other fisherman but never experienced it until a few weeks ago. Will rather drive further out of my way to go to a place that appreciates my business!

I took my tekota 600 here to be rebuilt because the lever was stuck and a couple other reels to have new line put on. I always have a great experience.
Now I buy all of my fishing hardware here. They have pretty good stock and plenty to pick from. Looking forward to getting more rods and reels here. They don’t match all internet pricing as far as I know, but if you ask, sometimes they can make it worth your while with braid or something.
I asked my girlfriend to buy all my fishing related Christmas gifts in person from this place instead of some big, corporate store.

Bad customer service when I called asking for a product. Sounded like that person did not want to help at all.

Best tackle store ever! The big box sporting good stores have their place for the little stuff, but when you need expert advice & gear that is just right for you, the individual, J & H can’t be beat! I absolutely love the beautiful purple Avet Lever Drag reel my husband picked up as a gift «for me» (so he says-​I think it was supposed to be for him, but it was clear when I caught my first fish with it that this one has become all mine!)Every time we visit J&H, we can’t get over the friendly service and that the guys actually ask you questions about your intended use-​they don’t want you to buy something that isn’t just perfect for what you intend to do with it. They really want you to walk away satisfied. Also, they sell to both sexes-​imagine that! I can’t remember ever finding fishing clothes or amazingly comfortable boat shoes in MY size! You might not realize how tough it is for women to find practical fishing gear, as opposed to just holding any old pole, showing off the new (completely impractical) bikini, and calling that «fishing»!! J & H seems to get that «reel» women don’t fish like that and has begun to carry some (not alot, but seems like more every time I’m in) smaller mens’ or actual womens’ sizes on almost every type of clothing they sell. They’ve made a devoted customer out of me-​you can’t find that kind of attention anywhere but here! Thanks for NEVER forgetting that «reel women» fish too, and we need somewhere to buy our gear!

My go to place for fishing tackle. Most people do what I do travel 20 to 45 minutes to this place. They have the best prices on all Rods and Reels. Look in the circular and see the discounts or The Fisherman Magazine.
If your into fishing like me, you probably know about this place already. If not I would recommend this place for any fishing set up.
