I was driving down Westmore/Meyers one day and noticed this little sign that said«Millhurst Charhouse Now Open». I thought, what the heck? Where?! I never knew that behind two commercial buildings stood the DuPage Club and right next to it is Millhurst. So I invited my friend and we went in for lunch. When you walk in you realize that this place was definitely a Gentlemen’s club before it was a restaurant. I’m not referring to a strip joint either, I’m talking about dark wood, leather, cigars and a stiff drink kind of club( ). We were the only two in there for lunch that day, I guess at that time I was one of the few who had seen that little sign. We shared some southwest egg rolls for an appetizer and then we each got a burger. The egg rolls were so good! I haven’t had an egg roll that good since Cheesecake Factory changed their menus! For our meals we ordered the Millhurst Burger –Sautéed Onions, and Mushrooms, Cheddar Cheese, Garlic Mayo Dressing, Served on a Toasted Brioche Bun and the Texan Burger — Texas BBQ Sauce, American Cheese, Bacon and Fried Onions. Both of the burgers surprisingly exceeded my expectations! As far as service, it was ok. Nothing outstanding but I wasn’t complaining about it. The website says they’re only open for lunch, so the mystery dinner other Unilocalers have written about must have been a special event. Regardless, this is a great place for lunch.

My husband and I went there for a Murder Mystery Dinner. As far as the food and service from the restaurant, they were good. I had pasta, and my husband had the chicken. I had a margartia and it was good. The show, however, left a lot to be desired. If you go, try to sit at the middle tables. The room is L shaped, and anything in the L area, is hard to see and hear for the show. My tablemates and I ended up playing Heads Up on someones phone.

I booked a groupon deal for one of those murder mystery dinners and was excited to see another suburban location. This restaurant/banquet is located in a corporate building along Meyers road, but you need to drive around to the right side of the building to see the entrance. This would’ve been helpful to know in advance! They had a full bar, which was open while we checked in for the dinner, and the bartender seemed efficient in making drinks quickly. The interior as you walked in was more impressive than the banquet area– dark wood, leather couches, tons of large TVs. The banquet itself was an «L» shaped room with standard tables, carpeting, etc. Service was decent– we never got any water refills, but the server was pretty good about getting other drinks and delivering food in a timely manner. We had a choice of chicken, fish or a pasta dish. I chose the chicken, which was a large piece, kind of weirdly grilled, in a sauce with rice and veggies. Overall, nothing special. The bread given was tiny, salad was plain, etc. Based on the service and the interior by the bar, I’d be interested to come back when I could look at a menu thoroughly, and not have to order mass-cooked food items.
