It’s located inside of the Jewish Community Center in Oak Park and does have simple furnishings in an institutional type setting. So, If I’m not in the mood to eat there, I pick up my order as take-out on my way home and eat it there. Most of the food is simply outstanding! The Triple Decker Sandwiches are mouth-watering; the deli is high quality, the bread is toasted with a wonderful light sauce and salad, such that the blend of flavors and textures gives me a wholehearted finger-licking gastronomic pleasure-fest. One of my absolute favorites though is their steak dinner. The steak is consistently one of the tastiest I’ve had anywhere in the world and that includes the headliner kosher steak houses in Manhattan and Jerusalem! The price is VERY reasonable for a large kosher steak and their side of the house mashed potatoes(and their house sauce) is an absolute treat! So while the ambiance is somewhat lacking, most of the food is simply outstanding. 4 stars from me!

One of the most detestable dining experiences I have ever had. I felt embarrassed as a kosher consumer to bring my non-Jewish and non-observant friends and family. The restaurant, if it can even be called that, looks like a squalid, improvised dining room haphazardly set up with old, broken booths and aging chairs with matching tables. The service is slow, disorganized and a depressing experience. It’s a fusion of two pitiful worlds: 1990’s Kentucky truck-stop diner with gross, clumsy, Brooklyn deli. Your order won’t be taken on time and it’s guaranteed to take forever to come up in the window. When it does, it will sit there and finally arrive at your table, most likely different than the way you ordered it. The prices are outrageous and you’ll require heavy doses of maalox and other acid reducers to calm the post-prandial inferno that sneaks up on your digestive tract. Orthodox Jew and Kosher Consumers: you should demand BETTER and stop settling for sub-standard kosher«cuisine». This restaurant is an embarrassment. Oh, don’ t forget to ask for the server who handles the cash and also prepares salad with her glove-less hands!
