I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience here. The food was very flavorful and our service was fast. We ordered the Chicken Makani, Samosas, Garlic Naan, Saffron Rice, Vegetable Pakora, Bengan Bhurta, Gobi Paratha, Mango Lassi, Rose Milk, and Tamarind. The food was great and warmed up perfectly the next day. I highly recommend. I want to go back now. Like right now.

Great place, good service. All the food is made in house. The lentil soup was definitely my favorite. Great flavors. I tried the lunch buffet today. Loved everything.

Have made stops here after work on multiple occasions. If I were to rate this any differently than five stars, it’d be a crime. The buffet is awesome even though the rice was a bit hard. They bring out this awesome chicken for every table, too. I only wish that they didn’t charge for garlic naan considering it’s a must! Will be back soon!

You’ll never look at chicken the same after you eat their chicken tikki masla. Im talking, it doesn’t make sense good.

I was excited to see that this restaurant delivered in my area. I was hopeful that this place would be our go to for takeout Indian food when my husband and I don’t feel like eating out. That said, after receiving and tasting the ordered items, I was deeply disappointed. We ordered the vegetable pakora as an appetizer, which was extremely soggy and overly salted. I ordered the aloo mutter mushroom and the potatoes were not even cooked all the way through. Also, it didn’t have much flavor. My husband ordered the achari chicken. It looked extremely greasy and he said that he didn’t like anything about it. On top of that, the naans(garlic and onion) were soggy/soft and had a rubbery texture. Even the rice wasn’t good. Needless to say, we will sadly not be ordering from here again. Maybe a dine in experience would be better, but after this, I would not even try it.

Good food, friendly service. I got chicken tikka, naan, and rice which totaled 18.95 so a little expensive but the value wasn’t terrible since I was able to get a total of three meals out of it. The chicken tikka was delicious. Creamy, well spiced sauce with big, tender, juicy pieces of chicken. Will be going back.

Delivery took nearly 2 hours to arrive! We called after the first hour and they said«10 minutes» away. Their clocks need adjusting.

Review is for the food only, since we have never actually eaten in the restaurant. The food is amazing. The chicken tikka masala is a winner and is really enough food for two meals, which is true of all the entrees. My wife and I usually get two entrees and a naan and get two meals each out of it. Great great Indian food in the near west burbs. Highly recommended.

Awesome lunch joint for buffet! Amazing peas pilaf and their saffron rice is super pleasant after a stressful morning! Pile on some salad and comforting curry dishes and grab some hot naan bread to sweep more sauces off your plate for more and be prepared to feel very satisfied and well-fueled enough to take on the rest of your work day and get home exhausted to type run-on sentences such as this one to share your wonderful experience at this place! :)

There is now a location at about 2900 North Halsted in Chicago, just north of the intersection of Halsted, Barry, & Clark, just around the corner from the CVS, north of the Dominos. You can park in the CVS lot — Khyber Pass’ sign is just below the CVS sign in the lot. We ate there a couple of nights ago, Thursday. The place was empty, so we had our choice of seats. We picked a two chair table, which was too small based on our order, so the waiter/manager moved another table over to hold our food(Small tables at an Indian restaurant seems to be a typical thing. Make sure you chose a table for 4.) Our appetizer was cheese with herbs, deep fried in garbanzo bean(aka chickpea) flour. Nothing special — weak on the herbs. We’ll try something else next time. We had a lamb dish involving cream & almonds. The lamb was tender & the dish was pretty good. We had Frontier Chicken, sans green peppers because my wife doesn’t like them. This may have diminished the dish, but not that I could tell. It was also pretty good. But the dish of the night was the eggplant, which I believe was baingan bharta. It was excellent. We restrained ourselves, & had enough leftovers to give us a nice lunch the next day. We did not specify the spiciness of the food, but the waiter picked up on my wife’s remark that I like the green sauce & she doesn’t, and the food came mild. Not that the green sauce is very spicy — it’s not in my view. Next time, I’ll push a little for more heat — the only heat was jalapeño in the Frontier Chicken(which next time will be Frontier Lamb, I think — that’s what the waiter recommended but I wanted to try the other lamb dish so the lamb slot was taken.) The only competition for this place is Hema’s, on Broadway north of Fullerton. I am not yet prepared to say that Khyber is the equal of Hema’s, but it might be. The prices seem a little lower but not much. You have to take into account that Khyber is northern Indian, whereas Hema’s is, I believe, southern. The service was(unsurprisingly good), and the restaurant is BYO. The décor is pleasant, and the seats have cushions(important to those of us who are personally uncushioned.) I hope that this restaurant can generate enough business to stay in this location. It’s a tough spot — a lot of eating establishments have tried & failed. It will certainly get more business from us! Note that they have a lunch special of some kind for $ 7.00 if you want to try it out.

I’m surprised at some of the reviews here. My husband and I came after eyeballing the place for ages. He got the buffet and I got a couple appetizers(wasn’t hungry enough to buffet it). Everything was really delicious. The tikka masala was especially good(very flavorful and creamy smooth), but I had this naan(can’t remember which, sorry) that was phenomenal. I think it was stuffed with goat cheese but it had this really remarkable flavor that settled in the back of the nose… I don’t have any other way to describe it. My husband is English and had been dying for a good curry… no joke, he liked the food so much that he ate way too much of it and had to be dropped off at home afterwards to fall into a food coma. The service was slightly slow but friendly and our water was constantly refreshed for us. I felt the buffet was a bit overpriced but I suppose the hubby did get his money’s worth this time so I can’t complain too much(I would not have and made a good choice skipping it). Despite ordering appetizers I had enough left over for an additional two lunches. This place is pricy enough to be a once-in-a-while treat instead of a go-to lazy night curry place but we will be back.

great naan. the garlic naan has cilantro and a lemon oil rub on top… the tikka masala wasn’t to thick and had the right taste. not too strong lunch buffet for 10 dollars we’re from San Francisco and we think SF food is way better than Chicago but this was good

This is the best indian restaurant i have been too. I love their chicken tikka masala. The chicken is very tender and melts in your mouth. I also love the nan bread that comes with it.

My wife and I visited the restaurant for the first time. We must say we had a great and enjoyable time. The service was excellent and their dinner buffet believe it or not was fabulous. Since it was our first time what better way to experience various entrees. I tried 2 Indian beers that were very good. We definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.

I asked for spicy and I got spicy! I ordered the lamb vindaloo extra spicy and it was one of the hottest meals I’ve had, and I found it enjoyable. Everyone else ordered their food«a little spicy» and found it too hot to eat. The lamb seemed a little dry but the sauce was full of flavor with just the right amount of salt.

They got buffet weekdays during lunch. Not fan of Indian buffets but I got to hand it to them… I was impressed. They had wok loaded with lamb joshi with bone marrow still in bone!!! I had three plates of this stuff. I def was happy person… unlimited lamb joshi cooked to perfection. Not to say unlimited rice pudding and mango kofta to cool down the lamb. happy customer! Only $ 11.99!!!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in the United States… we are lucky to have it in Oak Park! We have been going for 17yrs and have discovered our favorite Indian dishes there. The nan is amazing, the mango lassi are a favorite, and the chicken makani is the best thing on just about any menu anywhere. We made a mistake when we ordered in tonight, and they sent the driver back without questioning it. Incredible food and outstanding customer service!

I’ve eaten at Khyber Pass for dinner a few times always after a movie as the restaurant is right across the street from Lake Theater. I usually just order dinner of lamb vindaloo(personal favorite of mine). Khyber Pass does not have the best Indian food but it is still good and is the only Indian restaurant in Oak Park. Beggars can’t be choosers. Tonight, I did the buffet for dinner. BIGMISTAKE. The buffet was seriously lackluster. Every buffet option is under-seasoned. The spinach was a huge disappointment. It both looked and tasted like Gerber baby food. The lamb and chicken were flavorless. The sauces were even bland! The buffet is not the wisest decision economically either. You may as well shell out a few extra bucks on gas and go into the city for really good Indian food.

Guys, the food here is really bad. Unless you like: Gerber’s babyfood spinach McDonald’s Chicken McGrill School lunch There are more things I hated about Khyber Pass: Not getting the raita I ordered until the meal was over Being forcibly up-sold multiple orders of rice Rice not included in the already high prices There was one thing I loved: The women’s room has both toilets in one stall. I went with my mom. It was my first co-pee.

Alright, I guess. Lunch buffet is not really worth it for what you get. Lamb curry is delicious, and there’s always at least one unusual veg dish. Otherwise it’s all the usual staples of a small Indian buffet — kinda tired. Dishonorable mention for the tandoori chicken. Only two tiny pieces for a party of two, dried out, no flavor. The regular menu is better, but still nothing special. Most dishes are served«Oak Park bland.» Klay Oven down the street is a bit better. But as with most ethnic food, you are better off leaving Oak Park.
