Me, my service dog in training and my friend were coming to have our lunch at Denny’s today. Walked in and the hostess was at the front, asked us to please hold on a minute and disappeared. After about 15 minutes of waiting the manager came up front and asked me if my dog is a service dog and if I had papers for her(BIGILLEGAL no-no right there asking for papers btw!) to which I told her she is a service dog in training and that it is actually against the law to ask for papers to prove that she is. So she said okay would you like a booth or table to which I requested a booth(simply because my service dog is working on her training to lay down under the table and paitently wait while I eat). So all the booths were dirty she said she would have someone come clean one for us and for us to wait on the bench by the door. Fast forward almost 20 minutes later and STILL not ONE person going to clear a booth. As we stood up to leave though all of a sudden here comes a bus boy rushing to clear one. It was a bit obvious that she waited until we were leaving to tell them to come clean one table out of the ATLEAST16 that were dirty. But jokes on them we ended up spending almost $ 50 on lunch elsewhere. We will NOT be returning to this location again.

Had a great meal. I had fench toast slam and is was made to perfection. My guy had roast sandwhich and he thought it was real good. He also had the lemon berry smoothie he was in love. Leslie took care of us she was fast but never checked back to see if we needed anything. Why don’t they ever bring extra napkins?

ASKFORSARAH! This place isn’t as bad as it’s rated only when you’re attended by Sarah! Very nice always checking up to see if you need anything else. On top of your order so you’re not waiting hours to eat. Overall my family & I have a great experience when she’s our waitress.

Why why why are you all so dirty? Seriously though, like where is the cleaning crew? Who the hell wants to eat from a place where the overpowering strench of moldy mop water is wafting through the air while struggling to enjoy the poorly cooked meal with what I would assume is a prison made presentation? And speaking of mop, it’s funny that the smell is there and it can be seen but doesn’t seem to have been used all day. I really hope management gets fired and this place gets shut down.

Came here because we’ve lived in the neighborhood for so long but haven’t tried this place yet even though it is a franchise. Service was decent. Our waitress was nice. I like how they list the amount of calories are in each dish. I had a skillet and my husband ordered their moon over my hammie. He did not seem to like it as much. He also had their chicken noodle soup which we both found very salty. We didn’t finish it. My skillet was decent, but the one thing I’m not used to is that we have to pay $ 2 for pancakes. I’m used to getting pancakes free with your skillet at brunch places — they generally ask if you want toast or pancakes and I normally order pancakes but I didnt know Denny’s charge separately for them. Anyway decent meal, feeling very bloated afterwards. Was stuffed that we couldnt even eat dinner hours later.

This was the worst Denny’s I’ve ever been to, only because the people are so rude, its a dirty establishment. They should be embarrassed to even be open. The health department needs to make a visit with the quickness…

This review is long over due, but recently at my own job we had to discuss a time when we experienced the kind of customer service we like to receive and I immediately thought of Andre(I hope I’m remembering your name right!) at the Denny’s in Oak Park. That’s when I remembered I had not written the Unilocal review that I had planned to write months ago and for that I am sorry. Having had a sudden craving for breakfast in the middle of the night, I decided to call a friend and drive out to Denny’s for my friends first Denny’s experience. Andre was our server and considering it was 11.30pm at a Denny’s that apparently closes at midnight, his service was admirable. Let’s be real, this is a Denny’s and we all come to expect only so much but Andre was kind, personable, and genuine. He did not make us feel like we were a bother coming in so late and when I told him it was my friends first time at Denny’s he kept insisting they had to make it right and give her the best experience. After our meal arrived, Andre stopped in again to ask her feelings on the meal and how her first Denny’s experience was. Yes, it’s silly, but he was one of those servers you enjoy sitting with and happily tip at the end of the meal. My friend and I came back to Denny’s a few months later and lucked into having Andre serve us a second time. Again, his service was noteworthy and memorable. Thanks for keeping standards high even when it’s not typically expected! Andre, they are lucky to have you!

I have to say forgive me to the general manager Michelle Riggio at Denny’s because I did write a review about a month ago about Mr. Pierre one of the waiters who served me, is such an awesome waiter and very attentive very social very professional and mostly very kind, it is very odd that you see a waiter like this at a Denny’s restaurant, and most often at any restaurant, next time I’m going to put the shoe in my mouth before I judge a restaurant like this. I believe the review I have done a month ago or so must’ve been erased by myself accidentally, so please forgive me Michelle Reggio, and as I promise I’m going to leave you the best review from your denny’s restaurant I’ve ever had at a breakfast place, you guys rocked and you guys are awesome, I believe that you’re training your waiters and waitresses staff very well, I also like the way as a general manager that you walk table to table asking everyone how their meal is and then wishing them a happy 4h of July, very nice and kind which is really well to keep up your quality control of a general manager of a restaurant, keep up the good work! as a senior adviser for I approve this review to be accurate 100%

Wish I would give zero stars. Worst Denny’s ever. Went last Sunday with my wife and son. The food was mediocre – even for Denny’s. The service was absolutely horrible! It was either the manager or hostess who was incredibly rude, and the waitress kept flirting with me right in front of my wife and child. Disgusting. Will never come back to this dirty and immoral restaurant

Good price point for the quality of food you get. I’ve had the server, Paris take care of our table on more than one occasion. She is efficient, fast and even bought water before we asked. They get an extra star for that. The food is what you would expect from a chain brand. Nothing to write home about but hits the spot. I would stop in more often if the quality of the food was better but it’s ok. I will still continue to visit this location. It is fast, efficient and good price point for what your getting.

I grew up going to Denny’s. It was always a good time and good food. The Denny’s of Oak Park reminded me of what I liked. I came in on my birthday for their complimentary Grand Slam Breakfast. I had printed the coupon and came in solo. The parking lot seemed full, but there is more in the back. Not the best parking situation. It was snowing, and half the lot wasn’t plowed. Despite the snow and it being a Monday morning around 11am, it was reasonably busy. I was seated within a minute and given a menu right away. The waiter came back and explained that I could choose 4 items from the BYO(build your own) Grand Slam menu. I ordered a juice and did just that. He said the food would be right out and I thought, sure, that’s what they all say. Maybe 5 minutes later, there was my food. 2 plates with all the items I ordered. I was hungry so thank God I didn’t have to wait. Breakfast was what I expected. Pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs and bacon. they have 2 hot sauces to choose from: Cholula and tabasco(?). The bacon was a little scrawny. That was the only negative I could take away from this. My server Michael Y. was attentive despite the busyness and didn’t leave me hanging. I was in and out with no wasted time or waiting around. It was a great start to my birthday thanks to Denny’s. As one other reviewer posted, they are not open 24 hours. Didn’t matter to me, I won’t be there before 10am ever.

3÷25÷15 my friend and I decided to have breakfast at Denny’s oak park location it was terrible. We’ve been here a few times but the service was inexcusable. Im already upset reading the lollapalooza line-up for 2015 I decided to treat myself to Denny’s breakfast. Our server was AMAZING Paris was good she constantly checked up on us and was fast and efficient very polite. The greeter Jahila was anything But cheerful so rude, nonchalant never smiled nor said thank you. Their store manager should address the situation

The food is good. The service is very good. When they get really busy they have a hard time managing the crowd. Regardless of all said above, every time I’ve been there, I have gotten sick. Very sick! I am not sure what is missing as far as cleanliness in the kitchen but I do not enjoy pay for a meal and then getting sick after it. I won’t go back because it is not safe, health-wise.

Clean, friendly service and the food was about as good as you can expect from Denny’s. This location changed my perspective of Denny’s which stems from the olden days of it being a dirty dive that had bad coffee and greasy food. I will eat at this location again.

The aggregate rating of 2 stars is right on the money for this Unilocal. First of all, I have to point out that Denny’s is an American institution, an icon of everything that is good(and bad) about the USA. One of these good things is the idea that Denny’s are open 24 hours a day. This Denny’s is not. Let me reiterate: this Oak Park Denny’s is NOT open 24 hours. For a restaurant chain that has become synonymous with having their doors open every hour of every day, these limited hours of operation came as a surprise(and disappointment) to me when I showed up at 6:45am one spring morning. The parking is disastrous in that the lot is way too small to accommodate a restaurant full of people. Navigating around it is also a clusterfuck. So, odd hours and parking aside, how is the service and food here? Not great. Despite being quite busy at 11am on a Saturday morning, the hostess quickly sat us at a booth. No more than 30 seconds passed before the same hostess came up to us and said«this booth is reserved, sorry.» Why, then, did you sit us here literally less than a minute ago? Oh but the frustration didn’t end there. Service was slow to act and even slower to take our orders. Our waiter was nice but not very attentive, and they were severely understaffed. I didn’t bother asked for hot sauce because it would’ve taken forever. Food was on-par with other shit from Denny’s – not amazing, nor awful. The gf’s love affair with her caramel coffee saved this from being a 1-star review. She made a point to tell me how good it was, and that seemed to be the lone highlight of an otherwise-forgettable meal here. So, to recap: slow service, obnoxious patrons, miserable parking situation, and not open 24 hours. Whoever ‘Denny’ is, he’s probably rolling over in his grave. Thankfully you can throw a rock in any direction and hit a Denny’s(since other locations are easy to come by), because I won’t be returning to this dump.

I absolutely love going to Dennys! The food is always fresh and prepared just the way I ask them too. If there is every any problems they make sure to correct them as soon as it’s brought to their attention! Not only that but kids eat free Tuesday’s and Saturdays from 4pm until 10pm with a paying adult! You can’t beat that!

My mom and I ended up here post-graduation for some eats(NO, not my «graduation dinner» — that was the day after). The food was good in typical Denny’s fashion, but service was slow. REEEALLLLY slow. I asked for some mustard when our food was brought out, but never ended up getting it. Even though it wasn’t packed and there seemed to be enough servers for everyone, out server actually never came back until the end, when we had polished off everything and our drinks were empty. I DID get a quick refill before we hit the road.

After being pampered by the likes of Marion Street Cheese Market, Longman and Eagle, and Perennial Verant, I had super duper low expectations for Denny’s. I’m tickled to report that Denny’s delivered a superb experience! There were two things that really helped Denny’s rating: 1. The service was really wonderful! The server(Crystal), was friendly, attentive, and did everything I wanted when I wanted. This is especially note-worthy when you take into consideration that I had special requests. 2. The food was surprisingly good. I loved the biscuits and gravy. I liked them better than the fancy biscuits and gravy I’ve had from other places. The hash-browns were just okay. I can make them better myself, but they were still satisfying. I knocked off a star because I wasn’t immediately greeted when I walked in. The hostess/server was distracted for some minutes while making her own drink. It took her a while to notice that I was standing there watching her.
