Gyros are great. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had a complain UNTIL this time(June 1). I asked for 2 plain gyros with the sauce on the side. My sister went and picked up the order and I went back home. I wasn’t able to go straight home but I got there about 2.5 hours after I got my food. My order was incorrect. It had everything with the sauce on the side and I wanted it plain. I called and spoke to the person that took my order and asked if I could come back that night. I said no because I live far and it’s almost 9pm. He took down my name and number and said come back anytime for my gyros. So I go back today(June 6) with my receipt and they said they would only give me one. I’m like how and they are buy one get one free? After 15 mins of going back and forth the woman said call back after 4 and speak with tony. I’m like if you already know who it is and I have my receipt then what’s the issue ?? She says call back. So I will call back after 4 but I’m still pretty upset at their customer service. Why would I come across the city 5 days later with a receipt and lie? So I’ll wait and see what happened but I was so upset I had to write this review now.

$ 6.49 or $ 7.12 with tax for 2 gyros. They’re nothing out of this world, but bang for your buck, they’re a great deal and taste good. I think all gyro places get their meat from the same place anyway, that’s why all gyros taste the same. The only thing I disliked was that they put the tzatziki, tomatoes, and onions on the pita versus on top of the meat like most places, not really a big deal though. I’m sure that you can just ask them to reverse the order.

Fed 5 people for $ 28 Gyros are very good. At buy 1 get 1 free how can you go wrong? Cheeseburgers were for the kids. As an adult I would have been disappointed in the burger. But for a 3 year old and a 8 year old the burgers were fine. Italian beef sandwich was a little dry. Wife forgot to get it dipped. So no foul there. I would go to Mr. Gyros for gyros. I don’t agree with previous reviews that eat a burger from Mr. Gyros and post a bad review. In the words of former Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo that’s «dirty pool». It’s like going to Buffalo Wild Wings and ordering something other than wings and posting a bad review. Who does that? I appreciate the old school Greek guy taking the order and then shouts it over his shoulder to his crew. I appreciate that. I would go back here for that alone.

Mr. Gyros has great deals in the value pack that my apartment building gets every so often. You get so much food for pretty cheap so it is nice to use when we are short on cash and time. However, the food is very average or below average. The gyros which provide the namesake for this restaurant are ok. There are definitely better gyros in the area, but typically are more expensive. The burgers are below average and pathetically small. The meat is flavorless and cooked to a brick. Granted, I’m not expecting to get the best burger in town here, but I do expect it to be tasty. They give you a lot of fries which are standard as far as fries go, a little soggy perhaps, but I love me some love fries. The hot dogs were tasty and the best thing on the menu, which doesn’t say much since you can get a much better hot dog at Portillos. Now we got a gyros, a burger, 2 hot dogs, and a large fry for under $ 10. That is a fantastic deal. Without the coupon, however, the prices are average to high($ 7 for just a gyro). I just don’t think the food is worth the normal pricing.

Really cheap and okay food. $ 7 for 2 gyro is by far the cheapest food I have had in Chicago with reasonable quality!

Was looking for a good gyro place after flying in to Midway airport, the reviews looked pretty positive. It’s the corner spot in a strip mall, right off of Cicero. Walking in, it’s a small place with about 8 tables. You order at the counter, the menu has all the typical gyro place items… gyros, burgers, hot dogs, ribs, etc. A lot of meat on the gyro, the fries were thicker than I normally like but cooked well, even though they’re frozen fries. In the 45 minutes we were at the restaurant, there must have been 20 people that came in to eat… half at there and half had take out.

Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. Upon entering Mr Gyros you get a sense of a Mom and Pop ran restaurant. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful with explaining the questions we had. We came in for their buy 1 get 1 free gyro! And placed an order for more. 2 gyros, 2 burgers, onion rings, fries and shakes! I ordered the 2 burgers with fries for $ 5.99 the price seemed fair for the amount of food, they deff don’t skimp on the fries either. As we waited for our shakes we started eating some of the onion rings and some of the fries. The onion rings were awesome! Deff looked and tasted fresh, the fries were good but soggy. The shakes we’re average, I tried my girlfriends strawberry and it was very good, for myself I ordered the Chocolate banana, it was decent. The shake tasted like it had artificial flavoring with the banana but still not a bad shake. Upon arriving home we dug in. The burger was ¼ pattie with everything on it. The buns we fresh and my burger had a lot of flavor and was enjoyable. After I started to go for my Gyro, I noticed a hair on it. The hair was from no ones in my house hold. I passed on it luckily it was buy 1 get one but still I was disappointed. I don’t think I would return from this experience alone. The food that I had was decent but not memorable to where I would want to return. The service from the lady at the counter was very friendly. The restaurant itself could do for a face lift and needs a better job at making it look clean and organized. Napkins were no where insight as well as condiments. I was going to give it 3 stars but the hair really brought it down to 2 stars. I would not return here just for that. Hope this was helpful.

My husband and I love a good gyro and we decided to try this place since it’s close to where we live. The gyro itself wasn’t bad but it came with nothing you normally get with it. No onions, no tomatoes, no sauce. Apparently if you want it, you have to ask for it and pay extra for it. We already paid a good price for the gyro plate so having to pay extra seems ridiculous. Also, we weren’t even told that our meal wasn’t coming with any of that stuff. When we went, it wasn’t busy but still waited 15 minutes for our food. There were maybe 1 or 2 other people in there. They give out a card so you can earn a free sandwich, but what’s the point when you’re not even getting what you want anyway?

First let’s address sanitation. The floor in the area where you get your first impression, the dinning area was filthy, so I can only imagine how dirty the floor and other things behind the counter are. Second, none of the three people working wore gloves. This is not a problem unless you’re touching raw food, and then cooked, or taking money at the register, and touching food, which they were. Third, for some reason they did not have lights on in the kitchen… Maybe if they did they would have seen the old guys gray hair in my food when they were making it. Did I mention it was cold in the dinning area which makes this a miserable experience. By the way it was noon on a Monday, the floor didn’t get that dirty in only a few hours.

The food was pretty tasty here but the proprietor was very rude and nasty when answering basic questions. He also seemed as if he was trying to rush me through my order which I did not appreciate. If I had not been with someone who really wanted to stay, I would have left.

We pass through here every so often & when we do we have to have the gyros from this place. Always 2 for 1 price. They are probably the best we have ever had. Don’t care about nothing else. Place is clean and people are nice. Place is very small, but they do have a few tables inside.

Mr. Gyros is a small fast food spot located off of Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn. They have Gyros, burgers, ribs, chicken, various other pita dishes and hot dogs. There’s a a small number of seats and tables set up on the inside, with a television set up to watch when you sit down. In visiting Mr. Gyros I decided to go for the hot dog here with everything. The hot dog I received came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. There were two thick tomato slices, a thick pickle spear, light onions, and a lot of relish and mustard. I noticed no sign of celery salt, nor were there sport peppers on this hot dog. The sausage itself was skinless and had a strange aftertaste. This hot dog had several problems, the sausage itself was perhaps less than ideally fresh. The mustard and relish were far too liberally applied causing the bun itself to be soggy. Overall, this seems like a decent place to eat, but not if you are just looking for a hot dog. Their prices seem reasonable, though preparing the order despite being the only customer there was a bit on the slow side. I’m going to give it two stars based on my experience.

This is a good go-to lunch spot. The prices are great, the service is fast, and the restaurant is clean. The other day I got the special that is currently running: grilled chicken breast on pita. Comes with tomatoes, onions, and homemade Greek sauce. For $ 1.49! I ordered a side salad with it and my lunch was under $ 4.00. Pretty Fantastic. I haven’t had a chance to try their gyros or hamburgers yet, but since they have specials everyday I can foresee that happening in the near future.

While the sandwich was not the greatest gyros I have ever had, it was not a bad deal. They do have a buy one get one free deal with their gyros.

My wife and I think this is the best place for Gyros in the area. I am from the Northside so I have had my share of Gyros and I come back here again and again. The Good: This place specializes in the«buy one, get one free» motto. Meaning buy one Gyro, Polish or Italian Sauage, Hotdog or Burger and you get one free. We always get the Gyros and a family order of cheese fries. We both really like the Gyros. Not greasy and not overflowing with meat, just right. The sauce is really very good too. The Bad: Don’t eat there on a cold day. The place is very small so everytime the door opens it feels as if you are outside. Great place for lunch in the area. I go almost weekly.

Um. Don’t come here. What would you think the specialty of the house would be at a place called Mr. Gyros? The meat was on the spit and it was char-coal in color. It tasted about the same. Very smokey almost b-bq flavor. The sauce was like old cottage cheese. Where is the garlic in any of this? The fries were mushy. The place also needs a good scrub down. If you must eat here, take it to go. At one on a monday afternoon this place was a ghost town. But don’t worry. They have one less customer to worry about.
