Everyone is always friendly. Whether it’s the people who come for a drink or a few of the bartenders I’ve encountered. Great local bar with a warm feeling. My favorite bartender Eva is always making sure everything is just right. Her customer service is excellent! Go see her if you’re looking to have a drink at Goal Post!

Our night started out fine until there was a lull in the music. We chose the song«straight outta Compton» a hip hop classic on the juke box. Our waitress, instead of telling us that other customers were unhappy with our song choice, came up and told us she was going to skip the music bc other customers were uncomfortable with the music. Which would be fine. Except for she chose to add in «and it was in bad taste». Her rude remark to us choosing a song on the jukebox that was readily available was unnecessary. She proceeded to be extremely out of line when we asked what the issue was. We were cussed out of the place and told never to return. All over a song choice that was on the jukebox. If you don’t want us to play a song, don’t make it available. It was the red headed bar tender that was the issue just FYI. We have been in this bar several times without an issue but will not return because of this.

What a divey good time! Now, that could be because I had one too many by the time I got here, but I had a blast. My friend’s boyfriend was having a company party here so we came over and cashed in on their tab(courtesy of the company) and got some free booze. There was a band(or DJ… don’t quite remember) playing so there were a bunch of people dancing to some good ol’ Irish music. On a regular night, I’d say this is probably an older crowd, but that’s okay. Except for the older man who got wayyy too close for comfort as I was ordering a drink at the bar. I didn’t want to feel that much of you, sir. Anyway, it was a good time and much more chill than other bars blasting terrible music.

This place was pretty nice. it is usually crowded with a band on the weekends. It has a huge big screen TV for watching sports and a nice mid sized bar. Plenty of rooms to brings friends for table seating during the week. I was expecting another dive like georges and that other bar way down towards Western, but this place again provided me with a surprise.

I had a good time at Goal Post(and that’s not just because I went to HS with one of the bartenders). It’s your average sports bar, and it’s a welcome break from some over-hyped trendy nightspot. It’s clean and big inside, kinda on the bright side with the lighting, but I don’t consider that a bad thing. You will see some regulars and local softball teams congreating inside. It’s close to the Metra and all the new shops and restaurants on 95th, though. Also lots of easy parking in the back. Try to play your favorite tunes on the jukebox before people start playing Bön Jovi in succession for the rest of the night.

Wow, this was a huge disappointment. I LOVED the old Goal Post which was a block away and was torn down to make room for the new train station. The owners of this place really got the shaft as they were forced to open up this shadow of their former establishment. I really wanted it to work but every time i went in, is was me and my friends and just some regulars at the bar. I wish them well but i doubt i’ll go back.
