A company to AVOID! ALL locations. On May 21, 2009 I ordered a gas fireplace box, a set of logs, a fireplace screen and a remote from A Cozy Fireplace. It is now Feb. 23, 2010 and I only have the box, the wrong set of logs, no screen, and no remote. I am out over $ 1500. Luke Soja, the man who ran the Oak Lawn store, took my money and either gave me excuses for why he wasn’t bringing my stuff, or he didn’t answer his phone. The company profile for A Cozy Fireplace gives a heartwarming story of 2 highschool friends who started this company and have a plaque hanging in each of their 5 stores that in part says«knowledge, professionalism, quality and service are the cornerstone to your satisfaction.» This is a joke. I called the number listed for the vice-president Ken Love(1 of the 2 who started the company) at the Naperville store. I was informed that they are no longer responsible for the Oak Lawn store. Luke Soja is now out of the Oak Lawn store and it is under the new management of Greg Hopkins(the other one who started the company). When I called there they said they could only get me product in the amount of any balance that I still owed them, which is not nearly enough to cover the merchandise that I ordered back in May and still don’t have. Nobody at any of the A Cozy Fireplace stores seems to want to take responsibility for this mess and I just get the run around. Even if the stores are franchised out now, these 2 men started this company and are still involved with it and the saying on the plaques in each of their stores is obviously just words.
