Crazy Cake Chicks

A great place to visit for a sweet treat. I chose a wonderful brownie and Roy got a luscious chocolate dessert called «after midnight.» Both were stellar. We didn’t see the baking area. The showcase had a nice selection of baked goods. There were only a few tables for eating in. Not at all impressive. Apparently the focus of the place is orders for pick up. A man came in to pick up an order, but it wasn’t ready, and he left empty handed. Said he’d be back in a little while. It’s been nearly two weeks since we were on Oak Island, and we’re still talking about that delicious brownie and «after midnight» dessert at Crazy Cake Chicks.

This place has lots of options and the variety of cupcakes that I tried, was delicious! My children loved the s’mores cupcakes. They have both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. The price is good as well, I believe it was either $ 2.25 or $ 2.50 a cupcake and if you buy 6 or more cupcakes, you get a 10% discount.

I picked out a couple of cupcakes to sample on my sad drive home from vacation at Oak Island. When we walked inside, it seemed as though the employees were sitting at one of only a couple tables inside with friends or family. They promptly walked behind the counter to help us.
There wasn’t really much décor… at least nothing memorable. Visually, the cupcakes were average. I didn’t feel that the cupcakes were stale, as other reviewers had said. Although, I didn’t eat them immediately after buying them… but a few hours later.
I tried the Just Like Heaven and White Wedding cupcakes. The icing was good for both and the fillings in each were very good. The cake consistency wasn’t my favorite, but it wasn’t terrible either.
The business has a very small lot in front with room for only a few cars.
Based on the pictures of their cakes from their website, I feel that they could kick up the visual appeal of their cupcakes. They are obviously capable.
I will definitely return to Crazy Cake Chicks on future visits to OKI.

These are still the best cupcakes in the universe.
This year they’ve added cupcake bites, a ball of icing and cake dipped in chocolate.
It’s hard to say which cupcakes are best. The chocolate ones, especially «sympathy for the Devil» and the Mexican chocolate one are pretty good.

We stopped by because we always see this place when on the island. We tried some cupcakes and we were really impressed. They were fresh, and the girl that helped us out was great. We will be back.
They also make custom ordered cakes.
