This place is a little gem. 600+ types of beer nearly categorized. Mead, lambic, ciders, some wine. But mostly craft beer. That beer you had while stationed in Virginia — they might have it (or can get it). You love Scotch Ales? A whole section of primarily Northwest Ales awaits.
The husband and wife team that runs it with their friendly old Labrador are there with personal recommendations. The more you go in the more they learn your style and have good recommendations.
Did I mention they fill ½ and gallon growlers?

I have nothing but good things to say about this mom and pop craft beer shop! The owners are very nice and helpful and they have the cutest little mascot on site as well, a beautiful black lab, I like to go grab a few beers with my husband just to see her;)
The store is set up nicely and they offer a large selection of beers from all over; I have seen a lot of San Diego beers and the pricing is fair.

We stopped in today and met the owner (i think) and his sweet black lab. He has a great selection, with fair prices, and he is super friendly.
We picked up 8 different beers — some faves and some new finds. We will make a point to stop in again the next time we are on Whidbey Island!

Whidbey Beer Works is a true gem. It’s a local, family-​run shop, so it can’t really have the selection you might find at a BevMo, but it’s still priceless for Whidbey. They have a large selection of beers and ciders, which you can buy by the bottle rather than the case, which is nice when you’re trying new things.
The people who run it are great, too. Helpful if you have questions. Their friendly, family dog is often laying at the base of the register sleeping. Just a great little place I love to give my money.
