Agave is Awesome! My man is a Mexican Food Lover and this is his favorite restaurant by far! The only downside is you would have to be starving for a week to finish the amount of food they give you. Try the ten finger burrito and you will be very happy and very very full!

This place is the best Mexican food in Oak Harbor. I was only in the area for a few months, but this place was my go to spot. If you come here, I suggest the Burrito Ten. Be warned though, it’s a large burrito.

Out of choices in town, this is my favorite Mexican place so far. Burrito«10» was what I chose today and it was massive. A little more than I expected, which is never a bad thing. I also ordered chips and salsa and they give you an entire fountain drink cup full of salsa. Salsa was a little smokey but still spicy and delicious. The only complaint I would have is that they put too much grilled green peppers and onions inside the burrito. Oh! There’s a drive through window! Convenient. Overall, very satisfied with agave.

I’m giving this place 5 stars because it’s hands-down the best Mexican food in Oak Harbor. Just moved here from New Orleans and have been pretty discouraged by what we’ve tried until now! Seriously a gem if you’re in it for the right reasons– food!

Excellent! My husband had Camarones Agave and they were amazing, lots of great garlic butter. I had a chile rellano & it was perfect. Don’t let the tiny size of this place turn you off at all, what comes out of the kitchen is fantastic. Do try this little gem!

Not a good experience at all! I spent $ 50 on take out and brought it home to the kiddos and the hubs the kiddos and I were not impressed but we have been to real authentic Mexican places my kids loves the white cheese usually used on the dishes or for dipping tortilla chips but the dipping cheese I brought home was chalky and full of heavy cream substance that didn’t taste anything thing like queaso blanco. The tacos were dry and melted with what looked like sliced cheese fresh looking or tasting at all. The service was good and the hole in the wall location was clean with ample parking. The lunches are king sized looked like two in half servings the tortillas wasn’t the thin chips like most taquerias have we probably will not return.

This place really hit the spot after a day of hiking at Deception Pass. The service by the young lady who took our order at the counter and checked on us numerous times was super friendly. She answered all our questions and noted all our requests with a smile. The food was plentiful and tasty. We had seafood fajitas, a wet Chile Colorado burrito, and the kids had the kids menu picadillo tacos(shredded beef). We enjoyed the fresh chips and self-serve selection of salsas. The jamica juice was yummy too.

Yes! Decent Mexican in Oak Harbor! I know I have been spoiled by the taco trucks and taquerias in Oakland but everywhere I went here was blah at best. I am a vegetarian so you have to put the flavor into something more than the meat. My burrito was excellent. If they were located in Oakland competing with the best of the best I would probably only give them four stars. They aren’t. On an Island in Western Washington five stars.

This place is so nice! Went on my birthday and had super yummy chicken mole(huge serving!). As I was about to walk out the door, I told a super sweet girl working there it was my birthday and she was like«WAIT! Let me make you a treat before you go!» Got some fried ice cream and strawberry sauce for free! Also, try a huge bowl of tortilla soup on a rainy day. The fresh avocado in it and the hot corn tortillas on the side are delicious!

Prices seemed a bit high, but the portions were huge and delicious!!! The service was great… They bring you chips and salsa to munch on while you wait for your food which is a total plus.

Oh my. Where do I start. I am from Los Angeles where we have excellent Mexican food. Not this place. Salsa and chips. Salsa was consistency of dirty water. Bland, along with the burrito with chicken I had. Maybe for Whidbey this is good but no way. I wouldn’t give it to my dog. This is as bad as bad gets.

After reading all the mixed reviews, I was skeptical, but hungry for a burrito, so my first Sunday night on Whidbey Island, I tried Agave Taqueria and was pleasantly surprised. Giant burrito with lots of good flavors. All the ingredients tasted fresh and well distributed in the burrito. The service was fast and friendly and the price was good for how much food. I’ll definitely be back and may even make it a weekly stop.

Authentic Mexican with friendly, clean smallish restaurant. Delicious items. Enchiladas is my husbands go to and mine is the tacos al carbon. So fast too! They have a relish bar(is that what you all it?) to spice up your plate.

We stopped here for lunch while on a Whidbey Island weekend trip, and once again I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of Mexican restaurants in out-of-the-way spots in Washington. It’s a smallish, no-frills place where you order at the counter and they bring out your food. The chips and salsa came out right away and the salsa was fairly spicy! Entrees hovered around the $ 10 mark; my chicken tortilla soup was $ 7.50 and my boyfriend’s carne asada was $ 13.50. The chicken tortilla soup came in a GIANT bowl and had a thick, crunchy layer of chips — too many, actually, since they quickly got soggy and had to be pushed out of the way. However, the portion of meat was generous, and there must have been an entire perfectly ripe avocado cut into chunks and mixed in, which was awesome! I didn’t even come close to finishing it. My boyfriend’s carne asada was a large portion, tender and flavorful, with a big scoop of guac and plenty of rice and beans. Service was quick and friendly, and I’d happily go back again to try the burritos that other Unilocalers seem to like so much.
