Mr. Burrito

Went here for lunch one day with a co-​worker.
OVERALL: NOT RECOMMENDED WHATSOEVER
We got our order in and a couple minutes passed, then three more people came in and ordered. We waited. and waited. and the people that came in after us were served before us. continued to wait, grabbed our food, went back to the office.
To put it as simple as my co-​worker did after we returned to the office with our food and tried it:
«Let’s not go there again… «
They give you a generous portion of nachos, but the chips were stale.
I ordered the fish tacos (their specialty) and paid $ 2.50 PER taco. I thought, maybe these are really good! But I was wrong. The fish was terrible. dry, gangey, and just didn’t taste right. Maybe like it was store bought, freezer burned, and heated in the microwave? Can’t say for sure but definitely not recommending them.
Neither of us finished our food and ended up throwing out more than half of it. I barely made it past ONE taco.
Save your money and don’t even bother.

this place is different — You order at the counter and serve your self chips and salsa. Pretty much unlimited chips and 3 or 4 diff salsas. The horchata is good and the food is decent. I eat there occasionally and would recommend to those who like to save money but dont expect epic
food for a cheap price the food is just ok but good enough.

I’m sure it won’t last forever, but I tried Mr. Burrito’s steak burrito special and was blown away. This is real food value.
For $ 3.99, you get a big steak burrito, a pop and (if you eat at the restaurant) free chips and salsa while you wait.
But you won’t wait long. I had my meal in less than five minutes. There’s no servers, so you save on tipping, and the menu is pretty huge.
My burrito was loaded with meat, beans, sour cream, onions, lettuce and tomato. The chips were nice and crisp, but the salsa was a bit tame for my taste. I made up for it with some of their green hot sauce.
Warning: If you don’t like greasy Mexican food, this might not be the place for you. I like mine greasy, and Mr. Burrito makes a greasy steak burrito.
The staff is really, really friendly (and adorably loud), making Mr. Burrito my go-​to place for Mexican in the south suburbs.
