My review is not based on the haircut I received because I didn’t get my hair cut. I walked out before I could even check in because of the lousy service. I walked in and stood at the front counter. There were two stylists, two customers getting a tune-up, and one old lady languishing under the hair dryer thing. One of the stylists started walking over. As she came toward me, she didn’t make eye contact and just stared at the floor during her great trek across the shop. There wasn’t even a greeting. At almost every other haircut place I’ve been to, you get a cheerful greeting from the stylists… You know, something like, «Welcome to Shaggy’s Shearing Shack! Someone will be right with you!» Not here. You get a grumpy girl who looks as though she’s displeased with your presence because it’s an inconvenience. As she gets to the counter, the phone rings and she immediately picks it up. «Thank you for calling Hair Cuttery, how may I help you?» She then proceeds to look through schedules to find out when a specific stylist will be working and chit-chats as she goes through the computer scheduling program calling out available dates and times. What the flatulence?! I’m here! I’m right in front of you! Why does the phone get preferential treatment?! Of course, I understand that she needs to answer the phone so she doesn’t lose a customer, but she should have said, «Thank you for calling Hair Cuttery. Will you please hold for just a very brief moment while I finish checking in a customer?» While waiting for her to schedule the appointment for the phone person, I just walked out. If I’m not important enough to get a greeting or some simple eye contact, they’re not important enough for me to wait while other people get preferential treatment. There are barber shops and stylists a plenty! In fact, there are 5 other haircut places within 5 minutes of this shop(one is across the street). I won’t be going back to Hair Cuttery because based on this simple experience, it’s obvious that they don’t value their customers.

I have to say I’ve been coming to this shop for years. I try to stick with the same style as I usually see but sometimes she is not available on my days off. I have seem two other stylist and the second one being today, and I have to say that no matter whom I’ve gotten to cut my hair I have always gotten a good consistent cut from each stylist. Today’s visit was exceptional as far as the care I was given. From my hair wash to my blow dry I feel like each hair on my head head special attention paid to it. The only concern was during my consultation at the shampoo bowl prior to my haircut, I asked for a haircut which shampoo and blow dry. I was told but that would cost $ 24 and was asked is that okay? $ 24.00 seems reasonable to me and it is a price that I paid in the past. But when I was all done and at the register I was told that there would be a $ 10 fee for the length of my hair and the blow dry. I paid the $ 10 extra because of the attention she paid to my hair. Had she not being so thorough however, I would not have paid the extra money. My advice to the staff is to give a correct quote to a client during consultation and if you make a mistake and quote a different fee, it is not good customer service to add it at the end. After all, my hair did not grow during the haircut to warrant a surprise.

I understand that if you want a fade the hair cuttery isn’t where anyone with any sense would go to get it. BUT my son needed a haircut and most barbers around here that do fades only take cash so here we are. Boy did they mangle my son’s hair. They would’ve done a better job cutting his hair with a butter knife. This wasn’t a complicated task, it is what is a normal haircut for most boys. A simple fade… Short on the side and longer on top, blended together in such a fashion that it seems as though they«fade» into each other. Never coming back here again. I’ll carry cash on me from now on.
