Sur La Table

This store is wonderful! The employees are so helpful! There was one particular employee that was great, her name is Mary or Mary Kay. Very nice.
I love this store, so many cute little gadgets too. The pricing is great too very reasonable.
So fun to shop!

My husband and I were recently on a hunt to replace our Jura coffee machine. We visited Sur La Table at the Oakbrook Mall early on a Sunday morning. They open at 10:00 am which is earlier than the competition.
We were greeted by an exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable sales associate who spent time showing us the various feature of the machines on our list. She even made sure the Friends and Family discount applied to our purchase.
After a week of use we decided to return the Nespresso machine we originally purchased and upgraded to a DeLonghi PrimaDonna coffee machine. No questions asked. In fact, we had several sales associates with knowledge of the machine working with us to explain the various features. They even threw in a complementary illy coffee to get us started.
Although this location lacks space for cooking classes, the store is well stocked and the staff are about as friendly as I’ve ever experienced. We have a location closer to us in Naperville but I would drive the few extra miles and shop at this location.

Went in on Sunday to buy Nespresso’s Inissia espresso maker after our old Illy machine died after 11 years of service. Did our research online and saw the same exact model on sale at Amazon for $ 110 vs. $ 129 at Sur la Table. When I asked about the store matching prices the rep said she was not sure even though the Sur la Table website prominently advertises «we never met a price we didn’t match». After we stablished there are 4 in stock of the model I was interested in the store rep looked it up on Amazon and confirmed that the color and model I wanted is in fact $ 110, she immediately said that she does not have this exact model in stock, even though we confirmed there were 4 in stock just a few minutes earlier. No attempt to offer an alternative or explanation.
I ordered the machine from Amazon after we got home, not shopping at Oakbrook Sur la Table — they’re really not interested in making an effort in helping or servicing customers.

Andrea at the desk was so nice and the product knowledge is unsurpassed. Someone wrote they were snobby in a post I read I found that to be absolutely incorrect and everyone over helpful. Great job

Bought a french press the other day, opened it up to find it was completely shattered. Took it back the next day, expecting to simply be offered an exchange for another one. What happened next blew all conventional definitions of customer service out of the water. Not only did they replace the french press, the manager also offered me a 50% refund for the disappointment I had suffered in not being able to make a cup of coffee this morning. Not only that, but when I discovered that I had forgotten to bring the debit card I made the original purchase on, they actually gave me the partial refund in cash, as he said he did not want to inconvenience me any more than I had already been. I have never experienced such over-​the-​top customer service, and will be taking my kitchen-​related business to Sur la Table in Oakbrook in future. Never mind the broken french press they sold me the first time, it’s what they did after that made all the difference. Amazing products, even better customer care and business integrity.

I came here yesterday to browse for items for my new apartment that I am moving into this summer. This place had a great selection of items (anything I could ask for in the kitchen)! I was excited to see that while they did have a lot of pricier items, they also had a good selection of clearance items!
The store was kind of cluttered, and could use some organization but it was a Friday so naturally it was probably busy. The staff was very charming and nice, so that is a plus.
One thing I want to research more is the cooking classes! I looked at their calendar and they have lessons on nearly everything so I’ll likely try one of their classes in the near future.
Love this store though!

DANGER!
If you like cookware, serveware, kitchen gadgets, linens, Deruta … stay away! You’re going to get into deep trouble here. Deep, deep trouble. OK go, but have someone bigger & meaner than you hold your wallet. Just take it all in. Be sure to look at all the end caps and low shelves, even the floor. See, that’s where they hide the clearance stuff. Please don’t buy the two Waechtersbach mugs I saw. I forgot to get them because I was distracted buying a Lodge cast iron skillet and a Scanpan Classic skillet in blue. And this was just my first visit. Hey! I get a pass … it was my birthday money.

Oops, I did it again! I found another Sur La Table. This could get to be a bad or good habit.
My daughter was jealous of my little white pitcher and since it was super inexpensive, I thought I would pick one up for her. (Sneaky way to get back into one of these stores, I agree!)
This one is a little cozier than the one in Naperville but still chock full of great stuff. I was able to find the little pitcher and possibly one fun thing for me. I saw more tempting French dishes but this time I did walk on by. I could own them all but that would be greedy now wouldn’t it?
