Do you find yourself searching for tiny bottles of ketchup & mustard to play elaborate pranks on your best friend, so he’ll wake up and think he’s a giant? No? Check out Suzanne’s if you are a dollhouse enthusiast or miniature-obsessed. Suzanne herself helped me when I stopped in to Suzanne’s Dollhouse one dreary Tuesday morning. I’m restoring the dollhouse my Grandfather built for us when we were kids and I had no idea where to begin. I was dropping pieces of the roof in the parking lot on my way through the door, things are in such disarray. Suzanne is a gem–«You have work to do,» she said, as I walked in. And knew exactly where I should start. Step by step she walked me through what I needed to do to start my restoration. She went out of her way to look in the back of her store for replacement shingles she doesn’t normally carry in stock. Stop by! You won’t get this service in a bigger chain craft store!

I’ve been to Suzanne’s twice so far and can’t wait to go back! They have everything you could want in terms of miniatures, including lots of model dollhouses that will inspire some great ideas. The prices of miniatures start at less than $ 1. Some of the products are made in the store(and quite unique, like miniature newspapers for $ 0.50 and dog and cat food dishes and water bowls at $ 4.50!!). It was really refreshing to see some miniature furniture and accessories that were not Victorian. Sure, some is, but there were pieces inspired by the 50s, 60s, and even more modern stuff. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She gave me a sample of some wax to hang a miniature mirror so I didn’t have to buy some without seeing how it worked. She also supports charities through her work. I hear she also offers classes on making miniatures and working on dollhouses.
