Rendezvous is a wonderful café! The food is always great, the coffee drinks are awesome, they have awesome events like murder mystery dinners, the staff is the best of the best. I always enjoy my weekly visits!

We experienced a lovely lunch the first time we tried this cozy café. Good food, wine, & service. The second time was a DISASTER, we attended their venue«The Naughty List», a Murder Mystery Dinner Show. The appetizer was so spicy(no warning) from staff, my husband choked. Thank God for the water glass! Overcooked chicken entrée, raw carrots, pasty scalloped potatoes & the salad tasted like tuna fish(too much anchovy). When the waitress brought my dessert she said, «don’t worry about how it looks, it taste fabulous! The pie was disheveled resembling a scrambled egg look. The show was lacking in entertainment, & too noisy for the small space performed in. Best of all the brick behind our seats was leaking water, it was pouring outside. We just wanted«Out of here» by the shows ending. The entire show the BAND was playing in the room next to us, which added to the LOUDNESS in the room we were in. Jokes on us, we expected a classier atmosphere. Program was poorly managed from the meal to the enjoyment of the guests, not well thought out…

This cozy little brick enclosed room is comfy and functional… But the food was the star(had breakfast) — delicious! Great place to have a lunch meeting. All of the benefits of a Starbucks meet up — but the food is 10 x better! Ask for Stacy — great waitress. Laid back atmosphere — tables and couches to choose from. Easy access to Hwy 70. I will definitely go back to see what the evening/wine vibe is like. Hash brown casserole is BETTER than Cracker Barrel — no lie.

This place is great. I had lunch there and it was so good, I ended up getting a dinner to go. They were fast, friendly, efficient and the food was good. I will definitely go back to this place.

Wow, great food, service, atmosphere. Had the veggie wrap, onion soup for lunch, very delightful. The gooey butter cake was one of the best around, sooooo buttery. Kinda thoughpricey.

The food was average. My sandwich was dry. The wine, however was excellent. I had the wine slush and it was so refreshing! Also, my friend and I talked for two hours on the patio and no one tried to hurry us out.

I love this little place. Always good wine options and sandwiches. I usually get the Big Apple. During the winter I like their coffee drinks and sweet treats. Service is always attentive. I think on the weekends they have live music.

I previously attended a bridal shower here, and I enjoyed the Parisenne salad. I finally returned and ordered a simple lunch half salad/Munich sandwich. Both splendid. My father was pleasantly pleased because someone finally got his BLT correct. He always requests that his bacon is crispy. It was thick and crispy. Why do many restaurant cooks not understand-crispy…what’s with the flimsy bacon? Anywho… I was satisfied here. Not to mention it was a lovely day, so we sat outside any enjoyed the foliage and floral ambiance.

Nice place for lunch or to sit outside on a patio. I ordered the summer salad and quiche and it was wonderful. I also got a late and it was equally as good. Service was a little slow when it came to paying the waitress, but otherwise the experience was excellent. I’d go back.

I had lunch at the Rendezvous Café on Friday, and it was a great experience. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The food portions were large, and I think each one of the 8 in the group thought our food was wonderful! Among all of us, we tried several salads, the lobster bisque, one of the quiche selections, and the reuben sandwich. The Rendezvous also has a big selection of wines, desserts, and specialty coffee drinks. I recommend it! Joan

Good little local option. The food is decent and the pricing is reasonable. The service is efficient. I know very little about wine, however this place seems to know plenty and have a lot of it!

I finally had an opportunity to stop in for lunch with a friend last week. It was A-Ok Cold and rainy so we couldn’t utilize the patio, which is nice. The food was ok, we did like the smaller portions. I’m not a fan of oversized, wasteful portions. We weren’t impressed with the slow service. They really weren’t busy but service was very slow. Perhaps we were meant to enjoy the quaint feel of the restaurant itself more. I was less impressed by the wine selection. We were hoping a «wine bar» would have had more wine selections and not the average«shelf wine» available at any grocery store. Maybe next time.

Was recently there for a babyshower and the sandwiches we were served were delicious! Will probably go again to just have some lunch!

Horrible. We had a 9:30 reservation ONMOTHER’S DAY and they didn’t take our order until about 9:50. At 10:20 they brought out our food. Took her 20 more minutes to bring my coffee because«they were making something in there already.» They gave my mom my dad’s order, and my dad my moms order. My moms was wrong anyway! They didn’t even bring out my brother’s food. Finally at 10:45 we were just going to leave when they brought the food out. The waitress, again, put my moms order in front of my dad. Also asked if she wanted a mimosa for Mother’s Day. Saying it like it was complimentary, we said yes. Turns out it was $ 6.00 on our final bill. Don’t come to this place ever. It absolutely sucks.

Extremely disappointed! Traveling in the area, i wanted a local place with character, good food & wine, etc. According to the web site, Rendezvous was the place. Wrong. Charming, far from it. When I walked in I thought I had the wrong place so I walked out to read the sign. The highly mentioned/regarded patio is a sidewalk on the side next to a parking lot. The clientele looked they just came from school and were slurping soft drinks in plastic red cups. Where is the wine bar? The servers were cold and unwelcoming. After walking in a second time, I wanted to grab a seat, yet no one spoke, one server walked right past me as I was looking for a place to sit, it was just a bad experience. So not a «trendy wine bar», I will not give it a second try.

Our breakfast/brunch weekend tradition. Delicious but rich French toast, I don’t even use the syrup. A very good section of coffee drinks. Outdoor patio gives you a good ambience. My hubby suggests the Haddock fish sandwich.

Ok. I’m giving this place two stars because previously the food was good and the service was terrific — ATBREAKFAST. We liked it so much we decided to try this place for dinner on our anniversary, and the food was poor and the service was worse. Had this just been based on that dinner, I’d beg Unilocal for a no star review option. Cheese plate… let’s just say was not a «cheese plate,» at least to anyone expecting a decent one in a wine bar. It was some crusty(not in a good way) cheese, a couple(literally) of crackers, a couple of tiny slices of rock hard bread, a couple of gooey nuts, and some wilted fruit. Sandwiches — which, after taking 30 minutes to actually take our order, seemed like the faster route — tasted like twice-reheated leftovers. It took — in total — 2.5 hours for a cheese plate and some sandwiches — and despite asking over and over and over and OVER about the status of our food, not once did we receive an apology or an explanation other than«it’s coming.» The place wasn’t that busy, so we really do NOT understand this, except that obviously we were interrupting the servers’ time with their personal guests — they got their food much faster than we did, despite arriving an hour later. Absolute crap — we were SO disappointed. After becoming breakfast regulars here, after this experience, we won’t be going back for ANY meal.

I had this place bookmarked for a little while and decided to finally try it out the other night with Sean because we were already driving out that way and we were starved! It was pouring down rain and decided to call ahead to reserve a table(Friday night) but turns out we didn’t need to! This place seems like a mix of casual coffee house with a wine bar and store. We both happened to be really dressed up but we did not feel out of place. The waitress was really nice and she even put something under our table to stop it from rocking back and forth. They had an acoustic group that night playing some music. They weren’t amazing but they weren’t terrible either. I was glad that it wasn’t too loud to talk to Sean while we were there. They have the very-awesome option of ordering breakfast all day long which very few places allow, so I thought that was pretty cool. Sean ended up ordering the French Toast but he didn’t really like it. It also came with bacon and some orange slices. I liked it a lot because it basically reminded me of a cross between egg custard/crème brûlée/bread pudding. Yes, this French Toast is like a dessert! So if you like more traditional stuff you might not like this. I had a cup of lobster bisque and the bruschetta appetizer. It was fantastic! The soup was kind of thick but I didn’t mind it. The bruschetta tasted like a mixture of tomatoes, pine nuts, and garlic on top of cheese spread on bread slices. They were crispy but still chewy at the same time, mmm. I also tried the No. 2 wine flight which had a pinot noir, a merlot, and something else. It was around $ 9 and was pretty good. The service was great, and our water glasses were constantly filled. Also, they had create-your-own pasta that night! One of the chefs pulled us aside before we picked a table to sit at so he could take us through the wine store and around the corner to where there was a long table with pasta in a bowl and all sorts of mixers like mushrooms, peppers, chicken, etc, that you could add to a couple of sauces. I didn’t try it but it looked good, although not super«gourmet» but certainly tasty. I think they only had marinara sauce or alfredo sauce, though I can’t recall correctly. The price was low too, around $ 7 or $ 8 for it. They only do it on certain nights, though, I think. I would probably go back here some time just because they have a decent selection of menu options, wonderful service without any pretentiousness, and what looks like an awesome patio with a HUGE pergola. I haven’t seen one so big before, and I wish I could have enjoyed the outdoor area but it was raining like crazy. Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in the area.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. Bought a Living Social and finally got to try out this place couple Saturdays ago. My bf and I both expected a more«bistro» feel from the name of the place but when we arrived, we were shocked to find out that they had a live band. They were singing anything from the 70s to the pop music. The entire place turned into a sports bar-y in a way. The entire place looks very confusing — it has a separate room for wine tasting and the front does look more like a coffee shop/deli. The menu is decent for a small place. There is no hot entrée items if you dont want a sandwich. They do offer various hot appetizers. The wine selection is good. The prices for everything is very reasonable. They also offer cooking classes. I think they may want to concentrate and perfect in one direction first instead of opening up too many paths and only being mediocre.

I enjoy this tiny little place so much. My first experience there was a bit confusing. I felt a bit off trying to figure out how to know what to order, where to order and how it all worked. My second time there I had more of an idea of how the place worked. Hint: grab a paper menu, sit down, look it over and then you can go up to the register to order or if you’re lucky the owner will stop by. The owner is fabulous. The instant we spoke I knew she was smart. She helped my mom pick out a good wine for her, brought over several samples and was patient while she decided. The soup and salad are both delicious but I can’t bring myself to order them anymore now that I have discovered The Frenchman. He’s beefy, he’s got sweet onions, a delicious au jus and blue cheese which is unexpected but perfect.
