I happen to love Navy Federal Credit Union.
They have very amazing loan rates. Setting up my new account online was a breeze and they set up some decent security features, including a code word. The reps at the counter ask for my code word when I make a deposit, which is an added plus.
The customer service at the branch is also quite amazing.
The only detriment is that there are no local branches in the St. Louis metro area, which from what I heard, that will be changing in 2016.
The branch is quite small, but the experiences that I have had here packed a huge whallop. If you qualify for an account here, I highly recommend opening one here. You will not regret it.

They have the best rates… less hassle and the bank is not trying to charge a fee for things that should be free or included with the service you are using.
My only gripe is that they are not everywhere. But their services are good enough that I drive 60 miles round trip to do bank business face to face when I need that special attention.
Most things 99% you can do without ever going there. Overall, from the banks I have dealt with this one is by far the best for services offered and being fare for thw working people that utilizes their services.

i always am happy to walk in this bank, means i got money! but really they are all very friendly in here and the service is fairy quick so i can be in and out. It only takes a while when I can’t stop talking with everyone. This branch is fairly new and i was excited to see it because it is the only one around and i still had an account with them from a while back. that being said they don’t have a lot of ATM’s so if you don’t want a fee you need to use the atm right on the side of their building. overall good local bank that is fairly all over the world

I bank here because this bank is military friendly. I also have a business checking account here. I love the fact that they will cash a check and give me the funds immediately vs. waiting a few days for the check to clear. The staff always are friendly and remember who I am and what I do for work.
The disadvantages here are that they do not have many ATM’s around, the hours aren’ that great and that this location does not have a drive thru teller service.
Advantages are that they have a small staff and are always quick to help you with anything you need, including any service you might need. They also have a change machine to directly deposit your funds into the account you choose free of charge.
I would recommend for sure, its just you have to be willing to always visit this branch to avoid atm fees and such.
