KIAM has a great selection of new and used vinyl. You get the sense that the owners spend a lot of time carefully selecting the stuff they sell. Great Jazz selection. It’s a small shop but you can easily lose 2 hours browsing. Their used vinyl is totally reasonable and you don’t feel like you’re falling victim to inflated pricing, They always have a good sale section.

So great. The used bin was full of gold. Great prices. $ 20 got 3 great records Beatles, Santana and Prince. A punch card that gets you vinyl after after your tenth. AWESOME! Clean and laid back. I live 40 minutes away and going here then to lunch is the perfect day. Really.

Fantastic place! Friendly and even with an end of year sale! Prices are fair with lots of cheapie bins to search through. Some collectible items can be found, but a better collection of new vinyl. Wide selection of electronic and dance music. This is as clean a used record store as I’ve ever seen. It was easy to engage the staff about the discs, as they were knowledgeable about a wide variety of music. I almost used up a frequent buyer’s rewards card on first visit.

Strolling through Nyack, I found this gem! Amazing vinyl selection – on par with the best shops anywhere else. Very friendly service, reasonable pricing, and a dollar bin that featured some deep cuts.

Yo. Everything I do is official. You can catch me at an unidentified corner, with a Haitian individual, twist coils, Adidas high tops and all sorts of Swedish mafia in her waist. All I want to do is make music n vibe and the kiam record shop is the epitome of that. They have a free bin and dollar bin. The staff is awesome and the selections are very broad. Great place!

I’ve been up to The Kiam Records Shop twice since they opened late last year, and on each occasion I’ve purchased old school hip hop 12“s I hadn’t seen elsewhere previously. Also picked up a few exceptionally reasonable budget Cds and they gave my daughter a couple of free Lps so she could start her own collection. Impressive assortment of new titles(on a wide variety of independent labels) for a space of its size. Well worth your own trip.

I visited this shop for the first time this past Saturday. It’s cozy and well organized, not overwhelming like some other record shops. I purchased many records in the ‘New Arrivals’ bin, and felt their prices were appropriate. Mostly rock records, some jazz, and other genres. There is a small used cassette tape selection, as well as used CDs. She even sells a few turntables, if you’re in the market for one. I spent about an hour in the shop and left happy. She also has a frequent purchaser card for used items — every $ 10 spent gets a stamp. Fill the card(10 stamps) and get a $ 10 credit to spend on used items. Fantastic if you’re trying to build your collection! It’s on the main street down there, but there’s plenty of municipal parking lots around. I will shop here again, and recommend this for others.

I was walking around in Nyack. When I saw a previously empty storefront. With a sign in the window. I was thrilled to see that a record store, had just opened. It was a Tuesday so they were closed. But they had just opened the Friday before. So I decided to come back the following day. The store is not strictly a record store only. They have some very interesting books, music related, And other books as well. In addition they have some vintage clothing which included a really cool jeans jacket among other items. But I was mainly interested in the records. They had music playing and on the front counter they have the album cover displayed. I looked at the new section of records first. I saw the Beatles Rolling Stones, Aerosmith. There are a lot of new and up-and-coming artists, in the new section. The prices were good, a very eclectic mix, lots of new artists that I would like to discover. The used section was also very good. Familiar artists, mixed with some lesser-known artists, some i’m not familiar with. Very good eclectic mix. Then there’s another section where they offer records for two dollars or three for five. All the records I looked at the used section were very reasonably priced and in good condition. No beat up records with scratches and marks on them. There is also a small section of the used compact discs, as well as some cassette tapes. They also sell turntables. A nice entry level turntable is offered. As well the excellent Music Hall turntables. The proprietor of the store. Was very friendly and helpful. She said soon they will be setting up a listening station for the used records. They can also special order any new record you would like. In addition they plan to have, some artists come and play Live music, in the store. As well as some, independent authors. I will definitely be a regular customer, at this fun funky record store.

Finding record shops in the Rockland county area has been incredibly difficult these past few years. In Nyack around two or three years ago, the only record shop before Westwood or NYC closed, and definitely caused a bit of a depression for its previous visitors. So while on a recent visit to main street, I was completely shocked to see that a brand new record shop had opened. Within a few moments of stepping inside, I was greeted and had a great discussion with one of the employees about the shop and what they had in stock. While the collection isn’t very large, I saw tons of great picks that honestly went beyond what I’ve seen at some larger and more established shops. Some of the vinyl is a bit pricey, but for such a great selection and for such a new store(according to the employee I talked to it had only been open for a week), it was expected. I’m always obliged to help out local businesses though, so I picked up a few fantastically priced CD’s, and went on my way. I would definitely recommend this place. Although the shop is a bit small, it has a very nice home-y feel, and fits in seamlessly with the vibe of Nyack’s historic Main Street. And since record shops are hard to come by around here, Rockland County vinyl lovers can once again rejoice. We finally have another record shop!
