I love this yoga studio. I’m new to the area and was in need of some yoga. I prefer hatha yoga and found it was hard to find in the area. At first I wasn’t sure because I felt the demographic was much older, where I wanted a more younger crowd since I was new to the area and wanted to meet people. I went there on their 40 $ unlimited for 1 month trying out all the classes. I liked most of them but had a hard time finding which one suited me. I was coming to the end of my trial and I thought let me take Betsy’s class since I never took hers. And I fell in love with it. I vibed with her and felt such a great energy from her and her class. All the teachers are very knowledgable. I enjoy that I am challenged at this studio and I’ve been doing yoga for a long time. A few suggestions or things I’m not a fan of. For example, their classes are a mix of level 2 and 3. Sometimes or certain teachers go too much into the level 3 rather than the 2. I wish they had a class of just level 2 or 3 etc. I wish the hours were later and they had more classes on the weekends. I work a strange schedule and it’s hard for me to go there during the week. Like today, I could really use a good yoga session and didn’t know they close at 1pm. That’s so EARLY!

I had Cinnette for my massage. I had a long run the following day and ran my fastest! She loosened all of my muscles to help me run harder and faster. Thank you!

I’ve tried a few yoga studios in nyack and im so happy I finally found my home at birchwood. There are a variety of teachers, levels, and styles in their classes so any student — whether brand new or a seasoned yogi — can tailor a schedule suitable for their needs. The monthly unlimited(usu. about $ 100) may seem a bit pricey, but trust me, its worth it if you’re really lookung to integrate yoga as a part of your lifestyle. I work 8 – 5 mon-fri but am still able to attend at least one class a day. The teachers really know what they’re talking about, and they also have cool workshops on the side — amazing community!

Great space. Wonderful teachers. My only qualm is that is sometimes is super crowded and you are VERY close to your neighbors! Maybe they should create more classes to avoid this?

BDK got me a 60 minute aromatherapy massage for Mother’s Day… oh sweet Jesus! I wish I could afford a massage every week! My therapist was Susan and she was great! I am a big fan of deep tissue and Susan really delivered. I have a really tight shoulder blade area on my left side from carrying a too heavy bag and Mini Me on that side. It’s almost at pinched nerve status. Susan really dug in there and it felt great! I think I would need a weekly session to get it loose on a permamnet basis but who can afford that? so it will have to be an occasional treat instead. Very relaxing atmosphere and Susan was neither too chatty nor too quiet. Will definitely request her again.

Yoga has always been a part of my life; something that I find extremely important to both my physical and mental health. That said, I have had quite my share of yoga teachers and studios… some I liked and some I could’ve done without. Only Birchwood Center has fulfilled me in a way no other place has. The classes are unbelievably well thought out and the instructors take great care to make sure everyone is okay and getting the most out of the practice. I have never enjoyed coming to yoga as much as I do at Birchwood. I happen to be lucky enough to have had a few massages here as well. Massage is also something I find to be a necessity for someone who is an athlete. As with yoga, I have had many massages in my life, with quite an array of people. Some of the best have been here. Well worth every penny. To the other reviews who say it is expensive, every place I have ever been has comparable prices, especially when considering the level of service you receive. Furthermore, I have never seen a month of unlimited yoga for $ 40 for new students!. Take a class with one of the owners(Betsy or Charlene) and you will know what they have going there is priceless.

When I actually motivate myself enough to get to a yoga class, my first choice is always Birchwood… the atmosphere is always so welcoming & friendly(and gentle with people like me who can feel sort of timid). But more than I go here for yoga(but only because I’m lazy), when I get a bonus in my paycheck or have a reason to celebrate for my soul, you will often find me going online right away to request a massage appointment. They always call back quickly to confirm and have also taken requests(got a sweet couples massage once! absolutely wonderful!). The massage therapists I’ve had were all obviously talented, and can make an hour seem like an eternity(in a GOOD way!). Can’t wait to go back again soon! My one and only complaint is the large amount of stairs… not for myself, for my mom. I wanted to get a gift certificate for her there but she has bad arthritis in her knees and I know they would be a bit too much for her.

This place is pretty nice — albeit a little expensive. Additionally, if you have a multi-class card, they expire, so keep an eye on your subscription there. The classes are usually pretty full, but I was never booked out of them. The instructors were friendly and they offered a wide array of classes. I chose to go to Birchwood because they offered the widest array of classes at the most times. It seems like a nice community. Worth a try.

This is a really nice studio. There are three separate studios here and all of them are really nice with pretty wood floors and nice big windows. There is a nice variety of of classes and instructors. Mostly gentle and hatha yoga but there are a couple more vigorous classes too. I wish they had more evening classes on Friday and weekends. There is also massage here but I haven’t tried it. It is a bit pricey, but there is an intro deal for the rest of this month — unltd classes for $ 40. Otherwise it is $ 16/class I think.
