Rehabilitation Physicians

Couldn’t even get past the staff which are not helpful at all. Made an appointment for my husband and while he was in the system, no record of the appointment existed. Did they apologize… a resounding NO!
Note to the staff: not everyone is drug addicted, so stop treating everyone like that from the moment they walk through the door.

OMGosh… where do I start? At first I saw Dr. Hall in Garden City after my car accident in 2002. She seemed like she wanted to be an advocate for me and my pain and all of the things that happened to me, medically, in that car accident! I went there for a few months, probably about 10 – 15 visits. I tried to do everything she told me to do and even went to the DMC’s Novi, MI Rehab facility for 6 months outpatient program for rehab. It was supposed to help with: pain and injuries and the MTBI that I acquired from that car accident.
She ordered all kinds of equipment for me: can opener, 3 proned cane, motorized scooter, walker and much more! She seemed like she was going to help me at first! Suddenly, I don’t know WHAT happened ??? But one day I found out that the DMC’s rehab program in Novi, MI is for 6 months, whether you get better or not! If you don’t do as good as they think you should do; as far as conquering your pain and injuries; then they drop you! I was literally «dropped» from the program and set out to be left in pain forever with no hope of any help whatsoever; if I had left it up to Dr. Hall!
She even lied on some of her paperwork to the insurance company and in my records because after finding out that I couldn’t trust her, I requested my records! Lo and behold they were riddled with lies and misconceptions and I was really hurt and upset and just frozen with untrust, again! She literally ordered me a motorized scooter to help me because I can not walk far distances. My daughter was a Scottish highland dancer and I didnt’ want to miss any of her dancing competitions outside on the fields of the highland games events. Dr. Hall had ordered this for me so I could get out and do the things I used to enjoy doing. She ordered it in May and I receieved it in June on the 23^rd in 2003. The letter to my insurance company said this «Mrs. Stewart came to my office for her scheduled appointment, riding on her Pride Sonic Motorized scooter on May 20^th, 2003…» It was a blatent lie!!! How can she sleep at night? I was so upset! I did have the receipt for the scooter and wrote her a letter with a copy of the receipt and told her that she lied! I never heard from her again and I never went back to her, obviously!
Instead, I went to see a Dr. Owen Perlman at St. Joe’s Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan and he helped me very much! He was very stern and a great Dr. but also you could feel that outside of his harsh exterior, there is a real man and Dr. inside, who cares about his patients recoveries! I felt cared about and in a «no nonsense» kind of way! Thank goodness I found him and got rid of Dr. Elizabeth Hall! Why do we have to go through hoops to find a good Dr these days? Why would she lie like that? There was a lawsuit going on and she needed to be truthful and precise! I won the lawsuit anyways, without her help and without her lies hurting me! I am glad that ordeal is over but my physical pain is still with me today 9 yrs later, now! My mental anguish over being treated like that by yet another Dr or medical professional; I will never forget!
