My career recently upgraded from «management» to «C-​level», and I felt it was appropriate for my wardrobe to follow. My wife introduced me to Lisa, whom she knew through a business networking group, and I was impressed with both the services she provided and with the quality of the shirting, so I gave her a call.
Lisa helpfully came by my office to measure me, get an idea of what I liked and what best matched my complexion, and to go over fabric choices. I made several «later» choices and selected one fabric for my first shirt. I liked all the customization options available and went with something simple.
When the shirt arrived, Lisa delivered it to my house in order to check the fit as well as to survey my current wardrobe and offer some suggestions. The shirt looked fantastic and fit me perfectly. The first time my sister saw me in it she asked, «have you been working out? You look buff!» I don’t work out. :-)

I’ve now gotten three shirts made from Lisa and they are fantastic! I have long arms and a narrow torso so getting shirts to fit properly has always been a challenge– that is until now. I’ve even had some unusual requests on how I want my shirt to fit which have been accommodated.
I can finally get shirts that have that modern, tight fit and have sleeves that are long enough. Additionally, I can customize them to look unique and fit my style.
The first step is to get measured and then you look through the fabric swatches to select everything you want. These are super customizable shirts, so have fun. Once you get your first shirt, you check the fit. If it’s not right, it’s no problem. It either gets tailored or remade. Their goal is to get you happy with your shirts– once it’s dialed in they can make as many as you want that all fit fantastically!
I recommend at least giving it a try, if not for a high quality well fitting shirt, just for the experience.

It was so simple. Lisa showed me her J. Hilburn catalog and that was it. So many great looking shirts, sweaters, jackets – all coordinated in a classy, timeless style. I liked one shirt in particular and decided to treat myself. I have never had a shirt custom-​made, thinking it was too much of a hassle. Lisa measured me, placed the order and that was it. Whenever I wear this shirt people compliment me. It really fits. She then notified me of an up-​coming sale on cashmere sweaters, because she remembered that I liked one in the catalog. Really nice. But Lisa makes the difference. She listens and makes recommendations, which helps a lot. I trust her judgement without question, making the whole experience simple.

Though I just started working with Lisa and J. Hilburn, I have to say she was fantastic and the shopping experience is meaningfully better than anything I have had when shopping for high quality men’s clothing. Lisa is personable, professional and a great listener. The last point is critical — I prefer well tailored but traditional suits, shirts and pants and she completely «got it» in no time and showed me a great array of options. I would strongly recommend Lisa to anyone looking to update /​upgrade their wardrobe and looking for a hassle free, high quality shopping experience. So much better than dealing with malls /​stores and trying to find great quality clothes that really fit. Two thumbs up!

Lisa recently helped 2 family members with custom shirts. She came to the homes of both men, measured them, talked fashion and fit, and spent time going over fabric selection. She was professional and organized about the process.
My son LOVED the experience. Wow, was he ever delighted. He got the cuffs (diagonal cut), the shirt length, the collar points and the fit HE wanted. My nephew got the cuffs (French), the shirt length, the collar points and the fit HE wanted. They both were so happy with the look and finish that reorders are underway for both men. Nephew is now ordering his suits too.
The quality, the packaging, the fabrics… all the many details that go into a shirt, from the buttons to the mongramming, were perfectly executed. And for an affordable price! Amazing.

I’ve known Lisa for over 30 years and when she said that she was doing fashion I was IN! My husband is TALL and most dress shirts do not fit well. Lisa came over, measured and we were able to pick from a wide variety of fabrics and styles. We ordered a tailored made shirt and some pants. When we got the shirt it was just a bit too long in the arms. Lisa said «no problem» and remeasured. Within a couple of weeks my husband had the perfect fitting shirt. NO PROBLEM. It was easy and I loved that we didn’t have to visit a department store or mall. Lisa is professional and goes above and beyond to make everything PERFECT!

OK, yes I’m her husband, so I’m a tiny bit biased about her service. Nonetheless, the material quality and workmanship of J Hillburn is fantastic, but it’s the fit that really sold me. Once you put on a high quality shirt that fits REALLY well, everything else looks sloppy. I’m slowly replacing my entire wardrobe. Can I tell you that Lisa is phenomenal to work with, that she actually cares what her clients think, and that she’s a great person who will make sure you’re happy with your purchase? Of course I can.
