Dot is amazing! She’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, and thorough… she doesn’t miss a thing. After my first session with her I could already feel relief in my back. I’ve had back pain for years, at times to a point where I couldn’t walk. I’ve been working with her for a month now and I can’t believe how much my back pain has resided. Friends have started noticing how much better I look, straighter I stand, and more active I am. I just wish I’d found Dot years ago; but, at least I found her now. If you have extreme or prolonged back pain, I’m sure Dot can help you feel better.

I found Dot Spaet(Fitness by Dot) in Novato on the internet. I loved her web site and I was thrilled to meet her. She first did a lengthy phone interview. Then, she worked carefully with me on my issues over the weeks. Everything improved and I have a definite plan for the future. What a lovely and skilled person. I just enjoy being around her; she is filled with benevolence. Thanks to Dot and others, this is the first time in my life I am supporting myself. Dot Spaet is a trainer/pilates/yoga power house. One thing that makes her unique is that Dot works with people in pain or recovering from injuries. She can create a work out with you, specific to your needs, one that is enjoyable, and one that will break your pain cycle.

I made a commitment to myself for my birthday this year to get in shape. When I considered my options, I decided that having a personal trainer would be the best way to keep me challenged and on track. I had tried a trainer previously when I had a 24 hour fitness gym membership, but honestly I didn’t feel comfortable with a guy in his early 20’s who was more interested in checking out the bodies of young ladies in the gym than focusing on my fitness. Ugh! I paid for the program and didn’t complete it. I then quit my membership all together. Dot has been a completely different experience. She came highly recommended and I knew from the beginning that we’d be a good fit. She’s very knowledgeable about fitness, nutrition, flexibility and overall health. She tailors the workouts to the individual and is just the right balance of kicking butt and encouragement that I need. Recently, just as I was starting to feel really fit, I injured myself on the ski slopes. What a bummer! I contacted Dot and she had me come in and work on a modified fitness program so I could stay on track and not feel like I had to put my fitness on hold while I recovered. If you have a goal of getting fit, you should treat yourself to an expert like Dot. I have every confidence that she’ll help you get where you want to be. Dot rocks!

I have worked with Dot for years now, and she is fabulous! I have never stuck with a fitness program for so long and so consistently. I know that the reason I have been able to work out with Dot for so long is because with Dot, I have had several different fitness programs. She constantly changes the workouts to keep things fun and challenging. Dot has tailored programs for me that I can do at the gym AND programs I can do when I am traveling without fitness equipment. On the days when I am not excited about a working out, Dot finds a fun way for me to get some activity without all the«work.» Sometimes we just spend the hour stretching, and sometimes we work until I drop from exhaustion. Dot always finds the right balance to make it a workout that I can look forward to doing. Beside the fitness aspect, Dot has taught me a lot about nutrition and changed my eating habits drastically. I was addicted to diet convenience foods when I met Dot, because I needed food that was portion controlled and easy. While I was keeping my weight at a healthy level, I wasn’t getting the nutrition I needed and I was not satisfied with my food. Dot helped me to gradually incorporate subtle changes until I was ready to take some bigger steps. She took me through the grocery store and helped me find foods that were convenient, satisfying, and nutritious. Changes in my diet have improved my skin and hair and helped me to have more consistent energy and improved moods. Dot has recently begun sharing her knowledge with the public by offering CDs on different health topics, and I have already purchased multiple copies to share with family and friends. CHECKOUTHERBREATHINGCD — I use it to relax when I am stressed. I wish Unilocal offered an extra star, because 5 stars is not enough for Dot. She is AMAZING!

I found Dot to be knowledgeable and very accommodating to the body movements my body was willing to do. She worked with me to find the movements that will fit into my daily activity with maximum benefits. I definitely recommend Dot’s workouts for improved flexibility. When flexibility affects the entire health of your body, it’s best to use a professional like Dot to get the best results. Workouts do take a while to get started & to keep going. She is great with repeat visits to get your program up & running successfully.
