Best Hair

On the rare occasion that I pamper myself, I always choose Best Hair. They have friendly staff that are very gentle, they know exactly what you want and they get the job done right every time!
I am also very glad to have a local place that doesn’t charge me an arm and a leg for beauty. I definitely am on a budget and I appreciate that their prices are so reasonable. Most the time I can do a walk-​in, but they are pretty flexible on appointments.
I hope you give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

So I called at 3:25 to see if anyone was available to do shellac. The guy on the phone said «come around 4.» I was on my way there anyway and thought I’d just sit around until it was 4:00. Got there at 3:35 and waited 10 mins and was surprised that someone was ready for me already. Shellac was about 25 bucks I think which is very good for marin. The lady that helped me was Hanh. I also decided to get my eyebrows, upper lip and a haircut. She was very quick and detail oriented. I was very happy with all the services I got done. She basically sold me on the hair cut but she did a good job. I usually would have to spend at least 2 hours completing all these services elsewhere but with her she finished everything by an hour. And everything all together came to $ 52 which I thought was great also! Definitely coming back here! Nothing better than a good priced, fast and good quality place!

Andy does my gel manicure and he does such an awesome job that 6 – 8 weeks later, I’m trying to figure out how to peel the still-​perfect, but totally grown out polish off my nails. The salon does not stand out at first glance, but the talent inside is what makes them distinct from other salons. Make an appointment – they’re always slammed!

Perfect 5 star hair cuts BUT do not depend on a manicure! Twice they overbooked and left me without a manicure. The first time was for my Dads funeral and yesterday I had a very important meeting which I attended with awful nails. I am early for my appts, give a generous tip and am a happy customer who will never ever go back to Best Hair for any reason. It is the principal of lack of respect to customers that I write this review.

I am a cosmotologist and own a beauty salon myself. I found this business next to my gym. Andy is my guy for manicure and pedicure services. Not a fancy place but his work there is of the highest quality. I work so many hours in my own shop that I have difficulty getting my hair cut. The two owners, Helen and Huey do beautiful hair work. The price is amazing. They are open on Sundays which is awesome.

I get buzz cuts and this place was the cheapest in Novato that I could find, $ 10.50. They did a great job. I made an appointment two hours in advance and even though they were busy they respected my time. In and out in under 10 minutes.

My son and I got haircuts today. The cuts were very good, customer service great and prices reasonable. Can’t ask for more.

They just cut my son’s hair and I have to say they did a good job with little direction. They were fast. Price was great. Will be back!

Took my son in for a haircut here and his bags came out so crooked that my husband fixed them up when he got home.

I’ve had so many great experiences with this place. Best Hair is my goto place for a hair cut. The price is great, they are fast and efficient, and the service is awesome. I always do walk-​ins but it is never a long wait to get a haircut. They even fixed a wedding hair disaster for me. I went to get my hair done elsewhere for my uncle’s wedding. Big mistake, they spent like 45 minutes giving me the most basic curls imaginable. I went home, washed my hair, then headed to Best Hair. Huey was able to get my hair done in less than half an hour and I loved it! To
Top it off, he was generous enough to give me a discount when he heard I paid to get my hair done elsewhere for so much, only to wash it out and come there. I would give it 5 starts, but I did have one really bad experience with getting highlights. Not really something I need to go into detail about. My entire family goes here and even after the bad highlight experience, I still go here, which says a lot!

«Best Hair», should be called best place for personal care. From the rooter to the tooter. I was introduced to Best Hair by an acquaintance. I was going there for a simple hair cut and I was going there for Huey’s inexpensive but conscientious hair cut as i was referred t. He was busy that day, in fact he is busy all the time, so I decided to try each one of the hair stylists there each visit at a time. I wanted to make sure I got a hair cut the way I like it.
I may have offended a few of the employees there as I could hear the immediate rhetoric in Vietnamese. But like I said, I like my hair cut the way I like it and want the best experience possible. At their very, way too low pricing, I didn’t think it would be possible. After several visits everyone seemed to do well at listening to my instructions, but Helen stood out the most. She is very skillful with the scissors and with the clippers which is very important for my type of cut and she happens to be one of the proprietors.

Love love love best hair salon I get it all done here… Helen for eyebrows, Andy for nails and Huey for hair this place is amazing… Helen also does amazing hair color and cut. I definitely recommend coming here. They are quick and prices are finally affordable.

I went there looking to get rid of my split-​ends (those hot irons are NOT good for you, no girl!). Anyhow! I walked in and they greeted me politely and immediately went to work. The job was done asap and they charged me $ 14 dlls for it :)
So far, I’m a happy customer :) :D

Everyone who works here do pretty good job especially Huey and Helen. I haven’t felt unsatisfied from any of the haircuts I have received from them and more importantly the prices for haircuts are fairly cheap.

These guys do a great job, are very friendly, and prices are reasonable. Happy customer.

It was a walk-​in and I didn’t have to wait long. It was affordable and didn’t really know what I want and they help me figure it out and came out really nice. I will definitely be going back

Had a great experience here. We were in town for a wedding and they were, thankfully, the only place in the area open on Sundays. They are full service (manicures, pedicures, tips, lashes, hair, waxing), and had a great $ 30 mani/​pedi deal (as of 5÷25÷14), The prices overall were very affordable. The young lady who did the brow waxing did an amazing job. Wish I could fly back just to see her! We observed quite a few nice men’s haircuts during our service (barber onsite). We are fans!

5 stars for Helen! She’s really the best. She gives the best shampoos OMG I love when she washes my hair, it’s definitely worth the extra few bucks for that. She waxes me and I’m a total baby, but she deals. Even rubs some minty cooling gel on me afterwards, that’s my favorite part. She is the eyebrow sculptress!
I did however make the mistake of letting a couple different people wax my eyebrows there in the past and I would NOT recommend it. The first one, took off like half of my brow. ouch and omg when i saw it in the mirror getting into the car. But, this was understandable as I realized during another visit that this woman wears glasses! She wasn’t wearing them when she waxed me… hmmm. I won’t make that mistake again. Another time Helen wasn’t in, I saw someone else, I won’t mention any names… She actually waxed my eye lid. It swelled up for like 3 days and scabbed over. yuck. She knew she did it at the time too because she said «Your skin feels different today, like really thin, it must be your menstrual cycle». lol oh it’s my menstrual cycle’s fault that my eye lid got ripped off? ok. She did, however apologize profusely the next time because I told Helen what happened.
I have also gotten my mani pedi there… I really think I should find a new place for that. The first time was ok. I paid a really cheap price for a shellac mani. After about a wk it started chipping and taking off layers of my fingernails with the polish. I decided not to do that anymore. I’d rather lost the polish than the polish and my nails! It did last longer than a regular mani though, that usually only lasts me a couple of days before it starts chipping. I use and wash my hands a lot. The second time I got a french mani/​pedi. It took about 4 hours. yes you read that right. 4 HOURS. The third time, I got there an hour before closing because that should be long enough for a mani/​pedi. I made an appt by phone. I arrived 5 min early and had to wait half an hr. Then while they did my pedi, the guy asked me if i can help him out by removing the polish from my finger nails for him. Whaaa??? Excuse me? Couldn’t i have done that myself at home for free? Well, i did it and there went half of his tip. Singlehandedly, Helen earned the 5 stars and keeps me coming back for more! She has more than made up for all the other people. Except Huey, I got nothing bad to say about him. He’s cool. I’ve seen him cut some good hair.

How much would you be willing to pay for the THE BEST KID’S HAIRCUT in Marin? $ 20? $ 25? $ 30? Well you’re in for a sweet surprise when you happen upon Best Hair. After paying your $ 10 plus a well-​deserved tip for the stylist, you’ll have enough left for a couple of slices at Red Boy next door!
Sure, it’s not a fancy place. And they aren’t going to brew you a latte while you wait, but they are going to greet you warmly and invite you to sign in if you don’t have an appointment. Don’t worry, though, the wait is never more than a few minutes and it is well worth the wait! After driving 30 minutes every 6 weeks to get my boys looking sharp (to the tune of $ 25 each!), it was my lucky day the day I found Best Hair. I’ve not tried their other services yet, but they also do waxing, nails, as well as great looking hair for the whole fam!
