Not a bad course but very slow pace of play and no driving range. Very poor value for the money

Went there as a guest for golf. First impression, walking to the putting green from the parking lot — overflowing dumpsters and rat traps. Why not at least put a screen up to hide this unsightly view? Next, walking into the pro shop, the smell was disgusting. Apparently seepage from the adjacent bathrooms. Ugh! Walked upstairs to use the other bathroom — what a mess! Apparently a wedding had taken place the night before and they had not cleaned up after. It was after 10:00 am, they could certainly have had someone attend to the bathrooms and surrounding lobby area by tat time! Golf course has always been and continues to be good, but it appears to me that the management of this facility has gone way downhill since the Bay Club took over. Very disappointing — won’t be joining here.

A challenging, meticulously groomed course. The clubhouse is also beautiful. Length is less important than accuracy here. If you get a chance to play, take it! Note: if you are a high handicap, play from the shorter tees and bring a couple extra balls. You will love it!

Went to lunch. Had flies buzzing around the table. Had to keep swishing them away. We were inside, not eating at a table outside. Ordered the Panini of the Day, but there was no Panini of the Day that day. Ordered the steak and frites, but they were out of steak. 2 stars for the flies and lack of menu options available to order.

I had my wedding here over the weekend and it was amazing. First I’ll start by saying, the venue itself is beautiful. The building, the furniture, and the giant windows made perfect backdrops to every picture snapped and it all added a very romantic element. Next I’ll tell you that the food was bomb!!! Everyone had nothing but good things to say. The options to choose from were unique and not your typical wedding food… I would definitely come back for dinner! Third of all the price was very reasonable. Weddings can get extremely expensive and every tiny detail adds up. Stone tree offers great packages that can include those little details so you never have to worry about what that final bill is going to look like. It’s not by any means a cheap place, but they can definitely meet small and large budgets Last and best, is the staff! We initially chose this venue before the ownership change, so we did go through 3 different site coordinators. By the time we got to the nitty gritty of planning we were working with Lindley Stovall.(Remember that name.) She was a godsend. She knows her stuff, she knows the venue, and she knows how stressful this stuff is and she worked her tail off to make sure our day went as planned. I could go on and on about her alone, but I’ll leave you here. The venue and food were amazing, but Lindley was top notch, hands down my favorite part of this entire process…

We fell in love with StoneTree and chose it to be our wedding venue for our wedding in August 2015. We worked with great people and felt very optimistic for the event. Unfortunately, StoneTree was sold to Bay Club and there was NO communication to the bridal couples in contract with them. I was not receiving phone calls back and all of the people we were working with quit. They changed the site of our ceremony to a yet to be determined location. They also added a bouncy house(inappropriate for weddings) and arraigned BBQs for the members on the weekend evening when we signed up for a closed event. So much stress was caused by this takeover and there was so much uncertainty we decided to have our wedding somewhere else. The only positive thing was that we got a refund of our deposit. No thank you, Bay Club. Very poor way to do business.

This review pertains to our experience using Stone Tree for our wedding in May. In all fairness I should probably give them three stars because everything went smoothly on the day of, but I’ll stand by my two star review because of how awe full they were to work with on every little detail leading up to the event. We went to stone tree because of the reviews, and were immediately impressed by the event planner. She was extremely knowledgeable and was returning our emails or calls within hours. A few weeks after we signed the paperwork, the club was purchased by Bay Club. Our awesome coordinator left and was replaced by someone completely worthless. That person i guess did not work out as she was gone within a few weeks and through the course of our wedding planning we lost a few more coordinators. Each time one of them left we had to get the new person up to speed, which was a pain because each new coordinator was as useless as the last. We routinely spent weeks trying to reach someone with no return calls or emails, and had tasting appointments changed and cancelled last minute. We were also told, many months after bay club took over, that the agreement we had signed would not be honored because the club was under new ownership. The price wouldn’t change, but less would be included in our package. We fought with them as much as we could, but the management didn’t seem to care if we were unhappy. Everything went great on the day of our wedding. We had no issues and the food was great. I would give stone tree a better review if it hadn’t been such a nightmare dealing with them once bay club took over as the new owners. They really made our wedding planning a nightmarish experience.

This is a review is pertaining to our wedding of which we chose not to have at this venue. To start I was appalled at the unprofessionalism I experienced and the manner in which we were treated sealed the deal to pull our contract of which they breached anyway. I would Never recommend this venue or really after how we were treated recommend any business to Bay Club. We initially booked with Stone Tree(prior to their transition to Bay Club) in August of 2014 for our June 2015 wedding. At that time, Katie and Jessica were the event planners and were fabulous. A food tasting was arranged for November, but approximately one month prior I was informed personally by Katie that she was leaving, but not to worry Jessica was still present and the new director, Hannah, would contact me. A couple weeks prior to the tasting I contacted Hannah, as I had not heard from her and wanted to confirm the appointment, as the drive for us was over 3 hours to the venue. After numerous calls and emails, she finally returned my call and stated that the tasting had been cancelled due to a new chef coming on board; I took this as not a big issue as I’d rather taste food from the chef we were going to have. She also proceeded to inform me that there had been changes and the ceremony site was no longer available, but they would have another site on grounds. Although anxious, I took it in stride and didn’t want to get upset before I had all the information. We kept the appointment anyway so we could see the changes for ourselves and meet Hannah. When we arrived we saw that the initial ceremony site on the patio was turned into a lounge with flat screen TVs, etc. and the inside looked unkempt and filthy. Since we were early we decided to have lunch. Staff were moving tables and chairs around us and rather than asking us to move to another table they lifted the chairs over our heads almost hitting my mother. There was a dead fly on my mother’s bread plate and when the food arrived, we were not remotely impressed. Hannah met with us shortly after and following introductions, she informed us that the chef had started(which was the food we tasted) and began discussing our wedding menu choices. I was shocked that there was no mention of the changes around us and when I inquired about all the changes and expressed disappointment that this is not why I chose the venue or wanting my wedding at community center, there was no acknowledgement. I stated, «I can’t imagine I am the only bride that is upset about these changes.» She replied hotly, «Oh no and you are not even the worst.» I ignored the unprofessionalism and asked if she could show us the ceremony site. She pointed from a balcony and stated, «We are going to drain that pond over there, fill it and make that the site with the weeping willows as the back drop.» … «It will be ready by your wedding.» The area had a cement bridge on one side, a parking lot and sand pit on the other sides. The reception room now had a large flat screen TV that could be covered with box type frames. Despite my obvious disappointment and irritation, Hannah did not care and cut us short so she could tour a potential bride. Even if I could be ok with the drastic venue changes, I would not work with this type of unprofessional person or a company/club that obviously cares nothing about their patrons. Needless to say we requested to have our deposit refunded, which we received.

Really impressive facility in general. Nice to see such a first class event space /country club /place to gather with friends + family in Novato. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and there is an overall sense of feeling very welcome there. The grounds are impeccable and I highly recommend it for private functions and social events. We will back for sure. Kudos to Bay Club for these wonderful improvements to already beautiful facility.

Poor showing Bay Club for Wonder Bread 5…$ 30 for nachos, burgers and/or a chix breast sando buffet. You only offered Coors Lite or Lagunitas IPA for $ 6 each on the drink cards, at least offer 1 maybe 2 more options. Not what I would expect from a want a be 4 star establishment. 2 stars for y’all…lucky the band saved u.

I’m a wedding planner with Glowingly Events and this past weekend, I held a wedding at StoneTree Bay Club. The facilities and grounds are beautiful with great staff and management. To be honest, it was a bit shaky at the start since there was a management change at the beginning of our planning, however once Lindley, the Social Events Coordinator stepped in, they were very helpful, prompt and accommodating. Their responsiveness to email communication was great and their willingness to help me create my bride and groom’s dream wedding was excellent. Lindley and her staff provided solutions and ideas whenever we faced issues, they checked in with us multiple times throughout the wedding, and their staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and they allowed us to use their games(ping pong, pool tables, shuffle board, foosball, etc…) during the wedding. The guests loved that. They made sure that our original contract with the previous management was honored and they went above and beyond what we asked of them. For that I’m very grateful. I look forward to holding another wedding at StoneTree!

When I first visited StoneTree, I fell in love with the venue and the staff. Unfortunately, they changed management a couple months later and Bay Club took over with new staff. While there were definite improvements(food quality was great, they threw in chiavari chairs for free, they added shuffleboard and pool tables which the guests loved), overall my experience was Bay Club Stone Tree was incredibly stressful and frustrating, starting with the transition period in general. There was NO communication about the takeover. I found out they changed management by visiting the venue one day with my bridesmaids only to find that the terrace(where our ceremony was supposed to be held and one of the main three reasons why we chose the venue) had been changed into a lounge area and would no longer be a ceremony space. It took about three weeks for me to get in touch with someone to find out what exactly changed, and that’s with her saying«I’ll call you on Monday» and me not hearing from her until Friday, after I contacted her repeatedly and almost drove down the next day to see if I could catch them in person. I decided not to change venues because at that point, we booked our other vendors and it was pretty much impossible to find a new venue for that date in June. The event contacts were really unresponsive via email and phone. I tried to cut them slack, knowing they were dealing with a transition period and a ton of other brides freaking out about the same things with weddings earlier than mine. They kept reassuring me that they’d be more engaged closer to my wedding date. But even a couple months before the wedding, they were really unresponsive and kept telling me and my day-of coordinator that they were dealing with upcoming weddings and would focus on us after. I get that, but having to email someone 2 or 3 times to get a response? Even a quick«sorry, I see this and I’ll get back to you!» would’ve been nice. It wasn’t till only two weeks before the wedding that we got their full attention. To top it off, five days before the wedding, at 10 pm on Sunday, we got an email from the venue saying they booked another event for the same day that wouldn’t end until 4PM! Our wedding started at 5! To be fair, they did say they couldn’t guarantee they wouldn’t book an event for the same day, but they always made it sound like it’d end in the morning or early afternoon… not an HOUR before the wedding! I had different centerpieces for each table that needed to be set up, so it wasn’t as easy as putting a bouquet of flowers on each table. We needed more time to set up. But even though it all worked out thanks to my amazing day-of coordinator and friends who pitched in to help, just the fact that the venue would throw that kind of twist so close to the wedding was last-min stress no bride should have to endure. For anyone who’s gotten married, you know how stressful the last few days are. It gave me a nervous breakdown, I woke up the next morning crying, my heart racing, I couldn’t focus at work, I was a mess. Again, thankfully my day-of coordinator worked it all out with the venue, and I don’t know if this is something wedding venues typically do, but it was a horrible experience. The venue itself is beautiful. Everything worked out on the day of and the servers were so nice and helpful. But everything leading up to the day-of was incredibly frustrating and stressful, and if I could go back, I would’ve chosen a different venue.

This is the review for our wedding we held at Stonetree a month ago: Working with the Venue Their coordinators were very nice, but communication was very frustrating. We booked the venue 10 months before our wedding date. The new owners broke our original contract by turning the ceremony area on the sunset terrace into a lounge, and didn’t tell us until much later. They also changed the chef from a world class chef to a very average chef. Again, they didn’t even tell us until we found out from another bride 3 months before our date and then they suggested another tasting. Our tasting went really badly and we scrambled to find another venue but couldn’t find any 3 months from our wedding date. When we were coordinating final details, I’d send over 4 questions, and the coordinator would answer 2 and never follow up with the rest. A week and a half away from the date, I called over 6 times leaving voicemails and emails to finalize details. There was no call back, no email reply, nothing… until 3 days before the wedding. Oh, they also tried to slip in extra costs– most of our guests don’t drink, but we still paid the $ 30/person alcohol, and they offered ginger beer and sodas. I was ok with that, until they tried to slide in another $ 8/person in ADDITION to the $ 30 so they can have non-alcoholic options… Seriously? Wedding Day Here are my gripes as the groom: 1. Food coordination was terrible. Our reception started around 7 pm. Once we made our entrance, it was a little after 7:30. The tiny salad came shortly after(my friend’s 3 year old at 3 of them and her meal too), and the entrees didn’t all get to our guests until 8:45!!! We spent the time in between greeting our guests and apologizing for the food. Our 4 vendors didn’t get their food until late as well, and were quite upset. Shortly after we got our salads, the assistant GM, Mara, who I never met until that moment, took me aside and told me there were 10 extra guests and there would not be enough food for them. I questioned her and she was absolutely certain with her count because she had counted 10 extra salad plates served. I didn’t see a single person we did not invite, but scrambled to have my best man and our coordinator do another count. They counted every table from our seating chart to verify exactly our original count, no more, no less. I was very upset they couldn’t count to 130, and would make me deal with the situation in the middle of my reception. 2 hours later, Mara took me aside to apologize and gave us an extra 30 minutes at the venue for the reception. 2. I found out weeks after that certain guests never got a meal and had to go to the kitchen to request, were told their food choice was no longer available, then waited another 30 mins before their food arrived at their table while their friends at the table were eating. My bride and I never got to taste a single one of the 5 Hors d’œuvre we ordered. They just didn’t bother to leave any for us. We paid over $ 130 per person including their service charge for JUSTFOOD. Our overall bill for 130 guests was over $ 22k. No one saw the cheese and fruit tray we ordered, and if they can’t count salad plates correctly, I have no trust they gave us the right amount of Hors d’oeuvres. 3. I asked for the final bill Thursday at the end of our rehearsal dinner. Their coordinator told me she’d email it to me Friday. No bill came Fri. Saturday, the morning of the wedding, I saw her at 11 am, asked her again for the bill to review before the wedding started at 5. Here’s when I actually got it– after our ceremony when we returned to greet our guests for the first time during the end of the cocktail hour. I would have rather enjoyed the company of family I haven’t sen for years. There was an error so I got to review the bill the second time during the reception when I was also trying to enjoy my guests. The Food For $ 120 per plate of the entrée(including service), it was pretty mediocre. My food was cold, and the meat cuts so-so quality-wise. When I asked all my guests what they thought of the food, it hadn’t make an impression for anyone. I got a lot of «it was ok…» Stonetree took a huge dive in food when their old chef Rafa left. The Venue It’s beautiful on the course and the reception hall is nice and generally well maintained. Everyone was impressed. If the service matched the maintenance of this place, it would be a five star venue. The Bottom Line This is not a great representation of the Bay Club brand. You’re charging as a premium venue. Your food quality needs to get better and your 21% service charge on top of $ 100 meals should provide much better service.

We have tried to get the club sandwich back on the menu at no avail since Bay Club took over. Would it not make sense to have the Bay Club have a Bay Club Sandwich? We live in Blackpoint and have attended the restaurant for years and the club sandwiches were great. Does the chef have a problem?

Read Jeremy C’s review… Spot on review. Friendly and professional staff. We were quoted $ 85 for the round when we booked. The rate, we learned upon arrival, was $ 100. They honored the $ 85 rate. Typical Johnny Miller course. The first three or four holes get you into a rhythm thinking you’re good with Driver-7-Iron or Driver-9, then they pull the matt out from underneath you with hazards spaced out right, left and middle, 190−220−240−260 yards… This course is all about course knowledge. You can’t wing it. If you’re not playing with a member then spend the $ 7.00 for the yardage book at the clubhouse. Think about playing up, not the black or championship Tee box if it’s your first time. The only negative of the day was from one of the greens keepers. For some reason he was either mowing or waiting to mow around the green, then he would jump ahead and start mowing the Tee boxes. We couldn’t escape him! I had to ask him to back off…

Stonetree Golf club hosted our monthly golf outing this past Saturday and they received rave reviews from our group. From the start, Steve Burns was very easy to deal with in making our tee times and accommodating. The course was in excellent condition despite 2 weeks of frost delays. The clubhouse, proshop and bar are all top notch. Pace of play was right at 4:30. Only negative was lack of a driving range
