As always, I had a wonderful experience at Tiffany’s. The store is a bit smaller than other Tiffany’s I’ve been to(Tampa, NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta). I was in New Orleans for my birthday and my friend gave me a Tiffany’s bracelet as my gift. The bracelet was a bit small, so I went to this Tiffany’s to exchange the size. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. I told the lady that I needed to exchange my bracelet and my hubby and I decided to get our rings cleaned as well. It was not a long wait at all and they were prompt and helpful. I always enjoy the customer service shown at Tiffany’s.

I experienced the absolute worst service & racial profiling I’ve ever experienced in my life today at Tiffany’s in New Orleans on Canal St., & unfortunately in Los Angeles I am presumed to be Caucasian at least 90% of the time and I’ve never been treated with such disrespect by an associate or pair of employees in my 34 years of existence. I’ve received far better treatment at the Tiffany’s in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive, & the Tiffany in Century City, in addition to the Tiffany’s in South Pasadena, plus the Tiffany’s in New York City. I mean really I’ve just said a mouth full with the known clientele of those particular cities. Now back to NOLA’s Tiffany’s lack of customer service… It was so terribly bad & insulting because for one, the rep questioned right from the beginning if my jewelry was authentic Tiffany’s jewelry without even really examining the inventory of items I brought in. Second, upon receipt of my broken chain she asked if it was a Tiffany’s chain… I’m sorry do you NOT know your own inventory? Third, she felt the need to emphasize the cost for cleaning 2 items(I understand I’ve been through this before but I was already insulted by her first remark & the tone she used with me, so yes, this just increased the level of insult I was already experiencing). Third, she and the man in the black suit off to the side decided to compare my mesh ring I requested to be cleaned to another mesh in-store ring(why? I asked to get it cleaned not exchanged) and in front of my face. This was the worst feeling I can recall experiencing! Again, I will say«do you not know your own inventory or were you just having a dick day?» Lastly, this very blond and rude sales associate had the audacity to ask me again in a different fashion if this necklace was a Tiffany’s necklace… She asked me, «Do you wear your Tiffany’s charm with „this“ necklace?» «This» necklace being a Tiffany’s necklace, so I simply responded by saying in the most calm tone, «It came with the necklace, so yes.» Well if all of this grief wasn’t enough to ruin a beautiful trip to New Orleans thus far the associate took an extremely long time to fulfill my request to repair my chain & collect the monetary amount due to complete my transaction; and she blamed it on their«antiquated» system. If I were ever to purchase or have a male gift me anything from Tiffany’s again it would be a very long time from today because I will never forget the amount of disrespect that was paid to me, regardless of my ethnicity, for being an honest & loyal customer to this company. My only request would be that these employees be reevaluated, retrained on their customer service skills with people of all races & appearances, & hopefully they will be humbled from then on.
