Such a great NOLA experience. Fancy mansion on the Ave that decorates for all the masses to see come Halloween. A must stop every October. Love the topical skeletons and the nieces liked figuring out who was who. Although the 8 year old said that the Annie skeleton must be old because Annie has brown hair now not red. All knowing children, y’all. Family legend says that my great grandfather helped build this house but we know how those legends are.

A New Orleans Halloween experience would not be complete without a visit to the Skeleton House, owned by «funny bone» enthusiast Louellen Berger who curates a bone yard filled with skeletons of local and national recognition toting a satirical, macabre twist to their names, i.e. Bryan Bat, Mourning Call, and TromBONE Shorty. While the yard is not open to walkers(dead or alive), I do believe on All Hallow’s Eve the like may walk the grounds to Trick or, more preferably, Treat on the premise. You can also easily take pictures from outside the fence and point out your favorites of her 50 themed, freaky friends. I currently do not have a mini carbon copy of myself to tout up the stairs so till then… but I do encourage stopping by to thank Ms. Berger for her bone-tiring efforts each year to entertain her fellow New Orleanians.
