I have always been a fan of their affogatos, but recently discovered their mocha masala… holy smokes! One of the best mochas you’ll ever have. Has a nice chocolate taste with a spicy kick. I’ve had it twice and it was even better the second time!

We love this place! Great service and coffee. Just a neat little place to hang out. Outdoor and indoor seating and the best gluten free brownies! Updated review. still a great little place with fast service but the friendliness has seemed to left the building. The baristas used to greet you and now sometimes I feel I’m bothering them.

I mean what is not to like about a place that serves both coffee and ice cream? This is one of the zillion little gems in the hood where my office is. That being said, style and vibe-wise it is nothing like the rest of the neighborhood. It is so clean. Like ridiculously clean and bright and modern. Also, although that place was full, and I saw people talking, I swear I could not hear them. It is so quiet. I had the Thai iced tea. It was much blander than I expected but I brought my own cup and I think the sizing through the barista for a loop. It didn’t help that I didn’t know the ounces. I also had one of the tea breads. Really moist and good. Really, I am accustomed to working in noise. So I relocated outside so I had the sound of cars and people. However, I would imagine this place is an oasis for those who work better in quiet.

Great place to work, both outside and inside. It seems like there’s always a chill crowd working here(both customers and staff). Love how clean this place is, and there’s so much natural light inside: it just feels like a happy place. Coffee was good, and I also tried affogato for the first time. It came with chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream and espresso. Amazing combo if you’re in love with both ice cream and coffee. What a treat!

All seats are taken by hipsters on laptops. Barista is moody. Yeah my affogato was pretty good but it wasn’t any different than any other coffee shop.

White chocolate mochi is awesome! Had the peanut butter one which was ok. They make their own chai and might try it next time. It was pretty powerful I added a splash to my double espresso. Pretty potent to over power coffee. Still it was good and I can see ppls point on service but not that bad really. And yes there’s an orange couch inside haha. Still all in all not a bad place and clean on the inside.

The coffee is very good. I like to come and get affogato for a delicious treat. It’s bright and cheerful décor is nice, too. However! The service can be pretty surly. For example, we went at 8:30 and they were clearly irritated even though they’re open until 9. I said hello and the barista said we close in about half an hour. Hm.

This is a great place to chill or study or hangout. They serve a really good coffee. Their mochi is epic too. Must try this place.

Had to crank out a midterm in two hours and Unilocaled this place. AWESOME study space. Lots of tables, great internet & nice people. I was already amped up on caffeine, so can’t speak to the coffee, but they offer delicious looking cookies, gelato & mochi in addition to vietnamese coffee and thai iced tea. I could hang here all day.

This place is tucked away in a quaint residential neighborhood, so not a place that you are just going to run across… but is definitely worth finding! The atmosphere is very laid back with bright colors and plenty of places to sit and enjoy some great beverages and sweets. I had the Mocha Masala, which may not be to everyone’s liking since it has a spicy kick to it, but is delicious! My partner order a Mochi(which is a sweet rice cake) and it was outstanding as well.

Nice place, good lighting and seating arraignment. I had a nice herbal ice tea and they provide simple syrup to sweeten your tea. Cappuccino was well made good foam.

This place has fantastic mochi ice cream. The flavors are much different from what is available in this area. They have it delivered weekly from Bubbie’s Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts in Hawaii. The flavors that they typically offer vary based on what they order so if you were looking for a specific flavor I’d call ahead. They also have really good coffee. It’s a chill little oasis in the Marigny check them out!

My third time here and was the first for a few other friends. Told them about the affogato and they loved it! The barista was nice enough to give us an extra scoop of ice cream! I tried out the James Brown for the first time and it was ok! Still preferred the original affogato instead. I’ll be back for more. Perfect location for me and I always luck out on finding good street parking.

Went with my sister for a quick stop to grab some mochi. There were only a limited amount of flavors though — I think 3. The ones we had were delicious though: chocolate strawberry and mango. I really hate spending money on such a little piece of mochi — I feel the same way about macaroons — but theirs is incredibly good and if you like mochi you should get it here. The atmosphere was a little gloomy but still quant and intimate if that’s possible. There is an orange couch. And a variety of chairs with different colors and shapes.

Solid espresso with a simple swanky urban café vibe. It’s hard to find solid espresso in a town dominated by old time coffee producers like Community and CDM. The service can be somewhat curt. Maybe they need to drink more of their own espresso in the mornings…

I got a tip from a barista that The Orange Couch had the best coffee in New Orleans. That’s a bold statement that I decided to test. However, despite the fact that I specifically went for coffee, I ended up ordering Thai iced tea. This breaks my cardinal rule of never ordering it outside of a Thai restaurant, so this is already my fault. It wasn’t the worst Thai tea I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t really very good either. The coffee shop itself was cute and had some interesting choices. I had a nice barista as well, but should have ordered something different. However, since I can only base my review on the drink I had, it only got 2 stars. If I end up here again, I’ll try something different.

One of the few air conditioned coffee shops in the Marigny/Bywater featuring not only coffee but frozen ice cream treats. Its a little small and not much room to do work in but there is seating outside on a good day. All I order in the summer is iced coffee which I found to be good. Great stop to cool off if your on your bike.

It’s not like I want to write this review update, but with so many check-ins and so many sub par experiences lately, I feel like I can’t keep up a five star review or people won’t trust me anymore. Take this as you will, for I used to really dig most of the staff here and even the ones that weren’t as kick ass were at least nice. My visits lately have been pretty lackluster or downright bad. Last week, I almost threw out a lukewarm iced coffee with almond milk that was all separated and gross looking(this is purely aesthetic, though– the milk is not actually bad when this happens)… I should have handed it back, but I didn’t want to rock the boat after my guy had the audacity to ask for an espresso milkshake. «WHOORDERSTHAT?» I’ve said to him before. He’s like, «someone does, it’s on the menu» but still. Ok, fine, order the milkshake. And when he did, I braced myself, because I knew what the response would be. «That’s going to take 10 minutes,» in not the nicest tone. I mean, it was clear the chick didn’t want to make it. I would have said forget it, but this inspired him to take her up on the 10 minute milk shake challenge(sigh). Look, I used to have this job. I used to be a grouchy barista at times, too and I regret it. I probably shouldn’t have been working on those days where I was coming to work straight from another job and the last thing I wanted to do was throw anything in a blender. I admit it! I’ve learned from my mistakes, though. I’ve spent years waiting tables, making coffee and bartending. We can’t always be shiny happy people for the masses. But it’s not an isolated incident and so, I’m not going back. There are too many other coffee shops where I don’t feel like I’m a nuisance when I“m walking through the door. Especially when two coffee drinks with tip amounts to about 10 dollars. I’m fine with spending that when I’m not brewing at home, but I don’t want to deal with grumpiness on top of that.

Mochi?! In New Orleans?! I’ve never heard of such a thing! Alright, well I’ve always had Mochi filled with red bean or something similar, Mochi with ice cream is pretty creative! Well I actually stumbled upon this place through a few friends of mine who live near the location, and they said it was worth the try! Just looking at these little puff balls filled with happiness(ice cream), I had to go out of my way to make a detour on my way to the University! The place opens at seven, and the location is pretty convenient in that it’s in the center of a small neighborhood. Not too sketchy either. Upon entering, the employee was courteous in that he walked me through the various Mochi flavors after I had ordered my Chai Tea Latte. So lets get down to the REAL stuff! The Chai Tea Latte — Honestly, it wasn’t too bad, good quality, nice, delicate cloud on top with a bit of cinnamon! I didn’t even have to add sugar! It was strong, but not too strong, and the coffee itself was a great way to start off my morning! Additionally, I got three Mochi ice cream balls, around $ 5.50. I had to try at least three flavors! Here’s what I got: Green Tea Mochi — Let me start off by saying that the fact that the Mochi goes so well with the thin flour layering around it is the reason why this little treat is so EPIC! The soft outer layer is surprising, and as soon as you reach the center to get a taste of the cold, delectable ice cream, I was almost in disbelief! How could something so wrong taste so right? It’s almost as if the texture threw me off! Than as I tasted the ice cream while lightly chewing through the Mochi, it was like being in heaven. The light taste of green tea along with a cold refreshing center was just enough to make my entire day. Raspberry White Chocolate Mochi — «The purple one, I’ll have the purple one,» I said to myself in silence as I peered through the clear case holding the little treasures. The unique color is what truly brought me to choosing the flavor, and the fact that one could even blend raspberry with white chocolate in what already seems to be a pretty delicate dessert by itself amazed me! The white chocolate made the Mochi smooth, and the touch of raspberry was what really made the Mochi POP! Not literally, because than we’d have some problems seeing as I just scarfed down one… Chocolate Coconut Mochi — The chocolate coconut Mochi was actually pretty good, not amazing, but not bad. The light outer layer is, again, what truly makes the dessert spectacular. The chocolate was more evident than anything else, and the coconut was also somewhat light! Overall, the parking was convenient, not too cluttered, just how I like it! The coffee was amazing, and just like every other review, Macs, EVERYWHERE! It’s extremely relaxing, and if I lived a bit closer, this would be my MAIN place to go for studying purposes!

I have never personally had coffee here, but I have had several friends tell me it was good to great. I grabbed some ice cream that was delicious once and would definitely recommend it on a hot afternoon – perhaps not on a cold evening like me. Despite the good food and drink, I did not really enjoy this establishment. I guess it’s just not really my scene. Plastic chairs, macbooks everywhere, people with weird haircuts, snooty baristas. I just want a huge, cheap coffee without the side of attitude and pretentiousness, thanks. If you think you’re too cool to serve me a cup of coffee without a sneer, invoke your right to refuse service so I can bring my money somewhere else. That, along with the side-eyes I got from customers for bringing my middle-aged uncle, aunt, and cousin into such a *kewl* and *hip* place… just left a bad taste in my mouth. But, you know, yummy ice cream and coffee, if you can stomach the sour grapes.
