Spot Colors

This little shop is full of adorable little things.
In fact, I couldn’t leave without picking up random gifts for random people.
You know those people. The ones that are the most difficult to shop for? One walk through Spot Colors and I found the PERFECT items for them.
They have a great selection of jewelry too, which I need to investigate further for myself. I have to show some restraint, because I want to buy everything in this store.

This is one of my favorite «just for me» shops. There are just loads of daily-​wear earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, pins, hair clips, and other fabulous accessories that are either made just for this store or a special curation. The owner, Nicole, has a great eye that she uses to make jewelry, curate the shop, and bring in guest artists.
Pop-​up sidewalk events? Yep! Cool gifts? Yep! Whimsical jewelry? Yep! Grab bags for special occasions? Yep! Local goods? Yep!
I know it’s tempting to just go to Claire’s for your 14 year old niece. Don’t do it. Come to Spot Colors! Nicole has better stuff than the mall, and her little shop is bursting with gift ideas to really round out that card of earrings that would match her school uniform perfectly.
But 14 year old nieces aren’t the only possibility here. I am nearing 30, and I still walked away with several pairs of earrings that totally suit both my age and what I do, some cards, a hair clip, and a cute necklace. Think whimsy without being twee, fun without being silly, a little bit of kitch without being frumpy. Nicole hits all the right notes with her shop.
I also left the shop with a list of «I want this!!» items that I should go back and buy for Christmas. Necklaces! Colorful earrings! Squid pens! Po-​boy cards! Embroidery kits!
Oh, wait, I’m at the end of the review, and I forgot the embroidery kits? OMG, what a huge oversight! There are CUSTOM-​DESIGNED JUST FOR SPOT COLORS BEST embroidery kits! Robots, aliens, sassy sayings, and more. Want to learn? This is the place to start. Need sassy wall art or cube art? Yep, come here. I have so many fiber hobbies, and I think I need another one so I can make all the cute little embroidered things.
Accessibility notes: step up into the store. No Braille prices. High counter. Some high shelves. Space between displays for most accessibility devices to maneuver.
