This place is my go to lunch spot when working in the CBD. They open up shop at around 11:30AM and you can see them slice the meat fresh from the rotating gyro roast. The gyro plate is just as good as any other Mediterranean place(Monas, Lebanons, etc) and portions are almost double for a fraction of the price. If they offer, be sure to say yes to broth on the rice– it really brings it all together.

This place is horrible!!! Unilocal won’t let me give negative stars!!! If you want a «quick» bite to eat, stay far away from this place. A co-worker and I went to this food court, my co-worker chose to go to another food vendor, I thought I’d get something quick. Yeah right! I wait five minutes for two people to order,(which is far too long to take a order. I worked the counter taking orders and making po’boys at busier place than this for years, by myself)! So I see the«cash only» sign, get out of line, hit ATM, get back in line. Five minutes go by the helper takes my order, a simple sandwich. I tell the helper I’ll be 20ft away sitting down, I have been standing all day, I’ll be right up when it’s done. So the guy that’s in charge at the time, who I doubt owns the place because of his attitude, wants me to stand in line. I ask«why»? the helper said«that’s not the way he wants to do it». I said why are you trying to force me to stand, when I’m within eye shot(20ft). The guy in charge said«if you don’t like it you can leave» I said«I know that already, but if that’s the attitude your gonna have I’ll take my business elsewhere, furthermore, you can take that sandwich and shove it»!! So he proceeds to THREATEN me with the giant gyro slicing knife!!! This is absolutely ridiculous! I encourage everyone to stay as far away from this place as possible! Needless to say I’ll never patronize this place again, ever! And you shouldn’t either!

Sir Gyro was actually pretty good for being the fast service Greek good that it is. The appearance of the place is a little grim, but my friend kept telling me how good it was for a quick lunch spot so I went with her down to the second floor(or up if your a Place St. Charles outsider coming just for lunch) food court. What I really like is that you have the option to get smaller portions of the hummus and Greek salad, which is exactly what I wanted and the perfect size and price for lunch, at least for me. All the other places around give you so much food, I almost always only eat half. The salad was great, it had fresh tomatoes, Roma, better than another place in this building who serves unripe hard tomatoes who I have reviewed, the cucumbers, red onions, feta and olives were perfect. The hummus has some room for improvement. I’m not going to gripe too much because of the nature of this joint, but it wasn’t up there with the best I’ve had and I’ve had worse. I mean it was only a dollar for the small container, which is only like a condiment cup size, which is the perfect amount for me. The pita was also not the best, but I’ve had staler and worse, I’m thinking of the ave I’ve had worse that is a five letter woman’s name that starts with an M and ends with a ‘s. Anyway if you are in the building and want to try the Greek, I say go for it!
