What makes a great snowball… The softness of the ice and if their not stingy with the juice. Rodney’s comes through on both. A snowball from here is great on these hot & humid days… and dare I say is almost as great a compliment to a few pounds of crawfish as a beer/daiquiri. Don’t debate me on this :-) My nieces and nephew love this place… so much that a few dollars doesn’t help us when we come for after school visits. I mean after you load up on hot tamales, hot dogs, loaded nachos, and three stuffed snowballs… your wallet can take a small hit. But its so worth it! Definitely beats slaving in the kitchen. This has been dinner a time or two when Auntie Kee didn’t feel like cooking. But don’t tell their Paw-Paw I said that. Oh and the signature to their snowballs is the gummy bear they add in the end. Kids go nuts for it!

Grew up on this snowball stand. Great snowballs. I like them because their ice never dries out, the cream flavors & freezes are the best in the city, and their nachos are the best. Always worth a visit on a hot day.

I write this review primarily to say CASHONLY. Truly, I still haven’t figured out the finesse of snoballs(although Trina J’s review has brought some perspective). I understand how they are different than snow cones now, but that is about it. So really when I give this four stars I am giving it four stars for not being bad. The ratio of ice to syrup is good here. I was talking to much and mine melted a little but still had strong flavor. I also like the addition of the gummy bear. I think it is to help with the sadness that comes when you realize you are at the end of a snoball.

A lot of variety of flavors and they put a lot of syrup in it. Very refreshing on a very hot day. It is located in a very shady part of town, so beware if you’re going at night.

Raised their prices again. Huge ice chunks have become consistent. Still the best snoball game in the east though.

I’m from New York. So I am very partial to frozen treats. That’s because we got all them Mr. Softee trucks on the streets where you can get your rocket pops. Oh and let us not forget our pizza spots with the Italian icees. The Italian icees are the best. Now when I checked out this place it was pretty interesting. It’s like a hole in the wall spot. But not quite. I got a watermelon and lemon snowball. It was pretty tasty and their small is most places large. The price was very economical. I really enjoyed it. Will be back.

Snowballs are a unique tradition un New Orleans. A great place has soft ice, at least 25 flavors and the option if adding condensed milk or ice cream. This place offers all of this! I love their pink lemonade, but I also get hawaiian punch, orange, wedding cake, the sugar free flavors when I’m craving the flavored ice but limiting the sugar intake. This place is not stingy with juice. They make sure you taste it. Nothing’s worse than getting a smowball and it’s taste like ice only. If you can’t decide which flavor you prefer or want a mixture, you can get two. One unqiue thing about their snow balls is that they place gummy bears on top. I typically order extra gummy bears. The taste of the gummy bears on ice is a real treat. The dipped cones, tamales and nachos are good too. Parking is cramped, but it’s worth it.

The famous gummi bear snoball stand. Rodney’s has classic stuff and their snoballs are good. If you are in Da East and jonesing for a snoball hit up Ridney’s

I’m really surprised no one has reviewed Rodney’s yet. I’ve been a huge fan of their snowballs since I was a little kid. I wouldn’t even TRY another place’s snowballs. Of course I’ve tried to broaden my horizon a bit. But no other place compares to Rodney’s, in my opinion. Oh and I love those gummy bears!
