So, after many reviews and e-mails by I’m sure more people than just myself, this PJ’s has been greatly improved!!! It seems that there are mostly new employees that have obviously worked at least in service if not also at PJs before. My coffee has been made correctly and with a smile at least the past five times that I have been there. It has been the same 4 or 5 employees the past 5 times so I hope that it is safe to assume that they are staying. So happy.

To me, PJ’s stands for«Please, Jesus — let there be caffeine today!» And there’s always caffeine at PJ’s coffee on Ochsner’s Main Campus — thank the Lordt! I’ve never seen the place actually closed, and I’ve been here as early as 6:30am sometimes. The place is located front and center in Ochsner’s atrium, right next to the grand piano. You can count on having a line, because everyone needs their caffeine fix. In addition to their standard caffeinated beverages, they have muffins and pastries available, in addition to chips, a variety of sodas, packaged sandwiches, and fruit cups. They also have a microwave available, which is great for warming baked goods. I usually go for the vanilla chai latte, which tastes sweet, rich, and creamy. My fiancé loves their dark roast coffee, which is quite aromatic and doesn’t leave an aftertaste. PJ’s coffee at Ochsner Main Campus is a God-send, so I’m thankful for their service to my caffeine cravings.

All in all this particular location is average. A few months ago the employees were downright rude and incompetent. Apparently they changed all of their wmployees in the last 6 to 7 months because this time around(September October 2015) the employees are more polite, but will still get drinks wrong on occasion. Room for improvement.

Just like others, gotta agree it’s a shame that such a first class hospital has such a weak coffee shop. You know they have the market for a good shop because there’s a long line of folks, but a) add some staff that might actually want to be there and b) can you do anything about the lines and slow work? Only thing they got going for themselves is that they are the only place to go, short of the hospital cafeteria.

It’s been a year and not much has changed. Residents can now use their meal cards which is one good thing but the coffee is still pretty bad. Service has improved marginally, but they can’t pull a shot. Stick to the brewed coffee or the pre-mixed stuff and you’ll be OK. Hot chocolate is still pretty good though. Better yet, unless you’re actually at the hospital, as in working here like me or here on business go elsewhere. The only reason I keep coming back is that I work here and the coffee in the hospital cafeteria is pretty bad; PJs at least has reasonably fresh medium roast on hand at all times. Their pastry case is abbreviated and they have on several occasions not had the one thing I like to get — the bran muffins. Those things are like unobtainium most of the time. I give it two stars just because it’s run of the mill bad, not insultingly bad and is still better than what was here before and the other in hospital options.

Long lines, and you never get what you ordered. This should close down until they get more competent employees.

This coffee kiosk is a disgrace. PJ’s should feel ashamed to have their business name associated with this location and Oschner should swiftly evaluate the poor quality of customer service found here. I imagine that when Oschner &PJ’s agreed to colobrate by installing this kiosk in the centrally located atrium of a massive hospital complex, they envisioned it would help to propel the facility’s image toward a well-rounded, full-service, one-stop-shop hospital campus. It’s obvious in all aspects of the atrium… from the Brent House(hotel), to the well stocked gift shop, to the USPS desk… Oschner has invested in providing services & conveniences to best aid those spending an abundance of time with an individual admitted to the hospital. As an individual who has been that family member at a hospital campus for months caring for a family member, I appreciate the effort Oschner has placed toward comforts and the idea behind having a coffee kiosk. However, the individuals working behind the counter at the PJ’s kiosk, well they need to be sent to the hospitality emergency room STAT! As a result of the people working behind the counter, ALL of the invest made in research, design, and marketing toward a more plesant campus experience is lost! Many people visiting the kiosk for a coffee break are going through very difficult times! If a customer has(perhaps) been awake all night with someone they care & love for; has just been shared with devastating news; or has begun to see that person’s health improve, how DARE you make that person’s day worse or rain on the ray of sunshine they’ve been given! Your JOB is hospitality/customer service. Smile, be plesant, be patient, be respectful or find a job at a place of employment that doesn’t expect this from their personnel(as Oshner &PJ’s should)! Today, not only was I treated as a total inconvience to the individuals behind the kiosk, but I observed the following during the few minutes I spent there: 1. Unfriendly toward everyone 2. Disrespect toward the elderly 3. Condescending toward the tired & worn 4. Intolerance toward those whose second language was english 5. Bad attitude and inability to smile, greet, or thank Again, swift action should be taken by Oschner &PJ’s! Get a new team working at this location or shutter the doors! What gives this review a 1 star, aside from the detail that the lowest rating i can give is a 1 star and not zero stars… this PJ’s coffee kiosk is located in the sleek atrium of Oschner’s main campus on Jefferson Highway. The kiosk is impossible to miss and certainly convenient for anyone passing through. There are several offerings from PJ’s menu offered at numerous full-service locations in addition to many options for the healthy minded individual.

As someone who would visit the coffee shop at my old hospital multiple times a day, this PJ’s is just super disappointing. In fact, it’s almost enough to put you off coffee completely! Stick to the drip coffee and be prepared to settle for whatever is actually made and enjoy the side of attitude that is sure to accompany your beverage. Don’t take it personally, they share the wealth of their unfriendliness with everyone.

This location in inside the Atrium of Ochsner’s Main Campus as the name suggests, and as a result the food(pastries, muffins, scones and so on) are subject to Ochsner’s nutritional standards. All that to say skip the food(you’ll be disappointed) but the coffee is fine.
