This place has a large parking lot, a comfortable dining room, good coffee, nice prices, delicious beignets and no tourist rush. The staff has been friendly every time I’ve been here. Like any place it can have a sudden rush of orders and backup orders but nothing too crazy so far.

Order me beignets to go on my last trip for the drive and I must say the wait period is not the same as café du monde. Went right in and out in less then 10 mins. They were fresh and soft. Will be returning here in the future.

Yummy beignets, like the smaller bite-sized puffy lovelies. The chocolate beignets were interesting to try but the original is best. Expresso is nice and strong. Friendly service(not abundant in New Orleans).

The coffee is perfectly brewed, the tea selection is lovely, and the beignets are hot and fresh and absolutely perfect. The beignet bites come a dozen to an order, which is just right for sharing(or for small children). The staff is polite, the line moves quickly, and the inside of the café is clean and very chill. I love this place!

Can we be honest for a minute? Can you have a bad beignet? No. Now that that’s out of the way. I found everything about this place pleasant, but maybe for a lack of outside seating. The girl working seemed to know everyone’s name and knew mine before I left. Knew mine when I returned the next day, as of course I had to return the next day. The beignet here are obviously made from a pre-cut dough in perfect squares. They aren’t twisted up or disfigured. They’re just little pockets of perfection. That’s all.

We celebrate birthdays with breakfast beignets for each family member here. They are served piping hot! Good coffee and a nice friendly atmosphere.

Fantastic little place for coffee and beignets that’s not a mess of tourists if you come before 10 am. Even after that its not as bad as Café Du Monde. Plus, the beignets are actually just as good if not better. The coffee is glorious. Service is over the top. Try the chocolate beignets. You will not be disappointed. Will absolutely be a must stop when in NOLA.

THEWORKERWASSONICEANDHELPFUL! I believe his name was John. I went last month and told him I’d write on here just because he was so great. They have chocolate beignets(how cool is that?!) and delicious regular ones too. This was also super cheap. LOVEDIT!

During a recent trip to New Orleans, I tried beignets from here and Café Beignet(in an effort to avoid the long lines at Café du Monde). These beignets were tasty and plenty sugary, though I far preferred the ones from Café Beignet, which were crispier and shaped a little more organically than the perfect square pillows from New Orleans Coffee & Beignet. That said, the staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed a café au lait made with soy milk.

Staff is super friendly! Not too touristy although. I am a tourist and Happened upon this place while walking around the Garden District. It’s a great little stop with solid iced coffee and CHOCOLATE Beignets. Game changer.

Love this odd little place. The beignets are better than Café DuMonde. The atmosphere is cozy and family(and stroller) friendly. In fact — my 1 yr old squawked like a rabid peacock for twenty minutes and nobody seemed to notice or care. Just keep shoving fried dough in his mouth. Very cool little place!

Would you like a beignet but want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the shops in the French quarter? Hop on the Saint Charles streetcar heading away from the French Quarter and come here! Maybe a 10 minute streetcar ride from the French quarter, this is a great spot which I am not sure is frequented all that much by tourists, at least not while we were there. We were visiting town and stumbled upon it by chance. It is pretty hard to see from the street while riding the streetcar and gawking at the beautiful scenery. They have great beignets, chocolate ones too. It is clean, spacious, and has parking behind the building. Enjoy!

We’ve been to New Orleans Coffee and Beignet twice and enjoyed both of our visits. They have good beignets and café au lait right on St. Charles, so you can avoid the Café Du Monde in the French Quarter with its ultra long lines! The beignets at New Orleans Coffee & Beignet are kind of hollow in contrast to the doughy and fluffy as the ones at Café Du Monde. They’re still tasty. This place has a chocolate beignet, which I don’t recommend. It tasted too much like the chocolate in cocoa puffs to me, but maybe kids would like it. Coming here is a really pleasant experience because the staff is friendly, beignets are solid, and parking ample.

Even though I’m not a huge beignet fan, this place has grown on me. It’s walking distance from my house which is a definite perk. The atmosphere inside is nice, if not a bit artificial. The employees are always super friendly which is a must before I’ve had my morning caffeine. I really like the frozen au laits here! At most coffee shops, frozen coffees are entirely too sweet, to the point that you’re drinking syrup, not coffee. Even though the frozen au laits here come out of a machine, they’re still really tasty and you can definitely still taste the coffee. I also enjoy their banana chocolate chip muffins. Definitely say yes when they ask if you want it warmed. This morning, I sat outside at one of their two outdoor tables, sipped a frozen au lait, and watched the streetcar roll by. Very few coffee shops can provide that level of ambiance.

Great beignets and au lait without the tourist crowded mess that Café du Monde has become. They open early and have wonderful beignets as well as a great selection of pastry, muffins, and other breakfast foods. I love the beignet bites because they are easier and less messy than full sized beignets. Plus they have a great ratio of outside crispness and inside fluffiness. They also keep shakers of powdered sugar on the table which I love. I’ve tasted the chocolate beignet and it’s very good, but my favorite is original. The café au lait is great and dangerously hot, just as it should be! I want to try the frozen au lait because it looks so good, but I’ve never gotten around to it. I’ve had the banana chocolate chip muffin and it’s very good, but very rich. My next muffin venture will be cranberry orange. The staff is always friendly and this location is clean and well maintaimed, with off street parking, which is a bonus! WARNING: This review is for this location only. I’ve been to the one in Metairie and the food and service were so bad it was almost enough to keep me from going back(sour milk, flat beignets, stale pastry)!!

I’m a little torn about the 4 stars… Yes this is a solid neighborhood choice for sweet fried dough and if you’re a coffee drinker, you’re covered. There are ZERO tea options. The hot chocolate was meh. So as a non-coffee drinker, I can have water or overpriced bottled juice. OK. But they still get the 4 stars for an amazing staff. Seriously, every time I’ve been in here, they are lovely and friendly. They clearly know the names of their regulars. I think the Metairie location has more drink options and I wish this spot did too.

Beignets are so much better here than at Café Du Monde. The beignets here are fluffier, softer, crispier, and have just the right amount of sugar! These bad boys are light and crunchy when biting into them and taste so good! Café du Monde’s are way too heavy. Plus this place is in doors and has AC!

Best place for chocolate beignets in NOLA. Folks there are great. It’s a great place to enjoy morning coffee and a paper but come early before folks with little kids arrive. Kids tend to run around the place with no restraint. It’s like a neighborhood romper room thus the four stars. Five stars if you consider to go orders.

FAVORITECOFFEEHOUSEIN2014 I have coffee and occasionally if I’m treating myself beignet’s here 3 – 4 times a week. I love it’s clean, perky, uptown vibe so much that if I had to move I’d try to relocate anywhere between this café and the JCC. I’ve introduced many locals to this tucked-away gem, and they are now proud«$ 5 for 5» card carrying members. Other 2014 Favorites: Melba’s, Dmac’s, De Ville Crêperie, NOLA Smokehouse, Broad & Banks Seafood, Los Poblanos Foodtruck.

It could be a risky statement, but I’d say their beignets are comparable to those of Café Du Monde. They are a little more dense, but they are just as delicious. I’d come here anytime for some good beignets without having to deal with the chaos. Loved the chill atmosphere and being able to really enjoy my beignets with coffee without having to yell to be heard or rush.
