If this were a local bar, I’d be there all the time. Stubborn mule was devine. I stepped 2 counters away to pick up my food and my drink was thrown as well as my seat taken. But the kind girl who made my drink(not the one who threw it out). Quickly made me a new one without hesitation. The drinks are flavorful and strong. Average prices. I’ll gladly pay $ 8 again.

Incredibly friendly staff. You can buy wine retail and get glasses from the bar(unheard of where we live) and enjoy the great atmosphere. Will try the cocktails next time we are here. $ 5 «classic» cocktails for happy hour like Old Fashioned and Sazerac. Will absolutely put this place on the return list for our next trip back!

My goodness, one star from the sole previous reviewer? With one star, I expected to find SAE30W served in a chipped glass smudged with lipstick. That didn’t happen. This is a full bar with friendly service and some imaginative drinks, including some garnished with fresh fruit or herbs, and a nice selection of wine and beer on draft. This place would garner more stars in, say, NW Washington DC or Aspen Colorado, where the aesthetics(and prices!) would be more at home.(For more on the controversy surrounding this development, seek out the articles in antigrativity). If you want to drop eight bucks on a cocktail, it’s a nice place to sit on your [choose one and only one, based on your take of recent development in this neighborhood] a: hard working, professional, deserving, college educated, entrepreneurial, discerning derrière. b: callous, insensitive, rich, gentrified, trust fund, Mister Mister, conscience-free bourgois bottom. As for my own rear end, it has two sides and I have to use both to sit. I enjoyed my tasty and refreshing«Bee’s Knees» in a beautiful, clean setting with knowlegible barkeeps, but at the same time I was drowning my guilt(or more like splashing it, as my drink was rather small) over the fact that the folks who grew up across the street from this market could not possibly afford to patronize it. It’s your call.
