The poboys are pretty good but I wish that they would sell Chinese food like they used to. The hot sausage poboy = divine. I’ve never had any of the seafood. They sell a limited amount of Asian products like Ramune and Noodles on the side.

I always stop here to pick up food for my grandma. They’re poboys are always hot, stuffed, and crispy just the way the should be. Regardless of that, they make the perfect French fries. They’re crispy crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though the food is great, I wish the actual store was cleaner.

Stopped by because I was really craving some crawfish. The sign said 2.99 a pound which was cheaper than my much beloved Seafood Zone’s 4.19 at that time. Tried a crawfish and it was quite bland. Like they forgot to put the spices in that batch. Then the guy mentioned that the crawfish was 4.25 a pound and asked how much I wanted. I mentioned that the sign outside said 2.99. He said they must have forgotten to change it. SO how much do you want? Um…none. May go back to try something else sometime, but probably not unless my other places were all closed. p. s. Driving by there last night and they had tacked a smaller sign to the 2.99 sign. Simply read: «And up». Sigh…

You need to buy some seafood for a special dinner tonight, but you won’t have time to go to the store after work and therefore must get it done during your lunch break. However, it’s your turn to make the take-out run for your office today, and three of your fellow employees have requested po-boys, Chinese food, and wings, respectively. You can’t possibly have time to make all those food runs AND buy your seafood. WHATDOYOUDO??? Answer: Go to Lan’s. THEGOOD Price Point: We ordered a shrimp po-boy and an oyster po-boy. Both were reasonably filled with the main ingredients. The bread seemed a tad dried out but I actually like a little crunchy so I was OK with it, although the GF was not a fan. The important part though was the price. $ 8 for a decent shrimp po-boy? $ 10(!!) for an equally decent oyster po-boy? This place is no Mahony’s(or Jack’s or Parkway or Domilise) but it is definitely an affordable lunch spot. Their entire menu reflects the same affordable price point. THEFUNNY Selection: This place is hilarious. They offer boiled crawfish, crab, and shrimp by the pound, a small selection of 12′ po-boys, seafood and grilled platters, jumbo chicken wing plates, and a complete take-out Chinese menu. They also have random side orders of gumbo, fries, onion rings, boudin, and mozzarella sticks, plus offer boiled pig’s feet and turkey neck. Seriously, WTF mate? The Building: More hilarious-ness. So apparently the owner of this restaurant also owns the nail salon next door. My guess is, when the previous tenant of the restaurant location moved out, Lan bought it up as a second business. What’s funny is that Lan never bothered to remove the old business’s equipment from the building, including a commercial ice chest, three display fridges for drinks, and shelving still with the pricing and product labels. Yep, Lan’s Seafood used to be a convenience store, and they don’t care that you know. The Deal: Guess what everyone? If you get your nails done at Lan’s Nail Salon, you get a free dinner entrée at Lan’s Seafood! OVERALL I love places like this. A little bit of everything where nothing is great or terrible, with a «who cares what you think just eat it» demeanor. Perfect for a quick take-out lunch in the West Bank.
