Lakeview Discount Zone

Lakeview Discount Zone is simply a gas station with a convenience store. It is a fairly busy location, decent gas prices. The parking lot has no major trash issues and no vandalism. The store is neat and clean and always well stocked. The attendants are friendly. I have seen one employee helping a person in a wheel chair with the door, so they do come out from behind the counter. The attendants are quick with their job and get you in and out and on your way with a nice speed.

There hasn’t been a gas station on (east) Harrison Avenue since before Hurricane Katrina, so I know that the opening of Lakeview Discount Zone has made a lot of people happy. Prior to its opening, the only late night gasoline options in Lakeview were Gauchet’s Rockery and Dolly’s Deli, both of which are situated on the northern and southern borders of Lakeview. (Fleur De Lis Car Care on W. Harrison closes at 5:00 PM)
Situated on the corner of Harrison Avenue and Argonne Blvd, this gas station/​convenience store sits on the site of the old Shell station (if I remember correctly). It’s currently location is prime as Harrison Avenue businesses are flourishing from Fleur De Lis Blvd all the way to Argonne Blvd.
Everything is brand new, including the lot, the building and the pumps. There are three grades of gasoline, but all are blended with ethanol. The good news is that they are very competitively priced and even offer diesel fuel. If you are looking for full service, friendly conversation, or non-​ethanol blended gas, I suggest you look elsewhere, as this is a self service only location that’s run from behind a counter by an endless stream of employees. For the record, no one has been impolite. It’s just run differently than a family owned business.
The convenience store, for lack of a better word, is «convenient». While filling up, you can get yourself a soda, a pack of smokes, miscellaneous sundries, a beer or even a lottery ticket. The most «convenient» thing of all is the hours of operation, as it’s the latest operating gas station in Lakeview.
Did I mention that this place is convenient? LOL
