Meh. It just felt like a Jefferson Parish parade… Too many disorganized gaps between floats/bands/etc, and way too many«dance groups.» Alla was okay when it was on the Westbank, but I have higher standards for them since they relocated Uptown. Back to the dance groups, when did all of these dance groups of 45+ yr old women become a thing??? Alla gets 3 stars, but only because they were pretty generous with the throws, which kept my kid entertained whenever a float would(eventually) come around.

Very long and drawn out. But a pretty solid group of riders who threw a good amount. Just seemed like it took forever.

Alla can only have 3 stars because it belongs on the Westbank. The name is an acronym of Algiers, Louisiana, not NOLA. That being said, I get why they switched to the uptown route this year. This was once the signature parade for Blaine Kern Sr. And it was HUGE. I haven’t seen Alla in probably 20 years and was shocked at how small it was. If they’ve been shedding members this rapidly, I don’t blame for switching. The floats were good and they were full but the weather was super rainy so the crowds were light near me. The riders were generous so that was fun. Most of the bands were from the westbank with a few additions and it looked like some bands dropped out. I hope they get better weather next year.
