I am not a plumber, but find Ken Brown & Sons to be an excellent place to go for not only plumbing needs, but advice on how to do your project. While it may take a while to get a staff member to assist you(it can get pretty busy with real plumbers getting orders filled), I feel it is worth it. They have been invaluable for not only hard to find items for our old cast iron country sink, but advice on how to install everything. I have neither received bad advice, nor been sold anything I didn’t need. I recommend this place to everyone, and know you’ll feel much better about how to finish your project than if you had to guess what you needed at a big-box store.

I needed a concrete cover for a clean out drain and a cast iron cover for my clean out drain for my house. The total cost came to: $ 54.06. Since I like to shop locally, I went to this place which is one block from my house. I purchased the item and then my plumber said we didn’t need it. When I tried to return it after several days(in excellent condition), there was a sign up(a piece of paper hand written with a marks-a-lot pen«All cash sales final». The sign wasn’t up when I bought the equipment. I charged the item on Visa. I asked for a credit and was told that I could only get a «store credit». I complained and was told that I could not get a credit or a refund of any type. I am not a plumber. I was pretty upset. After all, what am I going to do with a store credit from a plumbing suppy place where I have no need for any plumbing supplies? The print on the invoice is so light that you can barely read it… I mean it is so light that you can hardly read it. It does say on the receipt: «All cash sales final». But, I had a visa sale. My visa receipt from them says nothing about the«No returns for cash sales». I feel really ripped off. What’s the big deal with returning $ 50.00 to a lady just trying to support her neighborhood business? I wouldn’t ever go back here. Don’t support them.
