Joe Brown Park

This park and recreation center is still in the works but has several aspects that are already in full swing. This includes tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, basketball courts, extra rooms for «rent», walking trail.
So many diverse people use this park it is just invigorating. Even though some of the trails are secluded, they have security staff along those parts so you never feel unsafe. The young teenagers that hang out there for the basketball courts are as respectful as teenagers these days can be. Parents keep control of their own kids. People smile and have conversations along the trail. I think I saw someone fishing but I don’t know if that is actually allowed. Some seniors play dominoes in the park on the regular. I really really love it.
The only reason for the four stars instead of five is I know it is a work in progress. So, they still need to repave the main roads. The parking is smooth and new but the main Nature Center Drive is still rough because big trucks are still going over it. This is understood, anyone who has lived in a new housing development knows that you pay 300k for a brand new house but have horrible roads until the final house is built. I would love if they have some free weights and other exercise equipment in some of those rooms. I know they rent them out for dance groups and stuff but that would really help me out because then my hubby would be able to workout there with me! Also, the group aerobics class is cool but they guy has to use his own sound system, he should be able to pipe his music through their PA system as well.
