I like how they do things, and love that sandwich bread you can get with the big sandwiches. BUT the disturbing thing is the sodium content of everything they do. I started noticing how salty everything was after trying a few different sandwiches at the downtown location. Go online and look it up. They could probably save a million dollars cutting back on all the salt. I had to stop eating there(insert very sad face here) after having my suspicions confirmed since now I taste the salt even more.

Jimmy Johns is terrible. The only reason I can find to justify people’s love of the place is that it is cheap and the quality of the meat appears to be be better than Subway. The bread is flavorless. The bacon is terrible and I’m not convinced that it had been cooked in anyway. I could not eat it. The toppings and cheese options are practically nonexistent. However, if you don’t care what your food trades like, you may love this place. It’s clean, the service is fast and the prices are great.

Jimmy John’s is a simple, no frills sandwich shop. Yes, you could easily make this at home. No, they will not toast it for you. Here is why Jimmy John’s gets 4 stars: — When I am stuck at work with no food and no time to step out, JJ really comes in handy. — I can order online without ever having to talk to a human. :shudder: — They have a great online ordering system allowing you to customize to no end. — They really are FREAKYFAST with delivery!(15 – 20 minutes!) — They will deliver just one sandwich. — You can make healthy choices here like the low carb lettuce wrap. — The kettle cooked chips are awesome, jalapeño is my favorite. — The light lemonade will quench and thirst and will surely make your workday more enjoyable.

Update: Since ordering the Veggie sandwich, I’ve tried the Italian Night Club and it’s my favorite. Again the bread is always perfect. I’ve also tasted the Smoked Sam Club and Beach Club and they were very good as well. I’ve used the delivery service quite a few times and delivery is FAST. With that said, they have become my favorite sandwich shop.

I will agree with pretty much everyone on this: the sandwiches are nothing to write home about, but it is better quality and quantity than subway. I always get the Billy Club. It’s roast beef and smoked ham with provolone cheese, mayo, Dijon mustard, lettuce, and tomato. It’s a lot of food. I generally can’t finish it. I’ve also had the Italian Night Club and it is pretty awesome too. The French bread they make is pretty amazing. It’s chewy and filling. The thing people always talk about is the fast delivery. And it is definitely true. I ordered a sandwich online and it was in front of me, being eaten in 10 minutes.

Jimmy Johns. In the Sub world, people have expectations. Whether you call them subs, hoagies, griders Or po-boys you have a certain level of satisfaction you require from these foot long sandwiches. Jimmy Johns meets a good majority of these hands down. Now don’t get me wrong, this is still fast food, but it is fast food done well. In my opinion, pay the extra dollar to go from a sub, to a club sandwich. More ingredients, better meal. For myself I usually get it on the wheat bread. It is sliced thick from a loaf, and pretty moist and tasty. Or you can always ask for the Un-Which, which is simply all the sandwich fixins in a lettuce wrap. And if you are hungry, the JJ Gargantuan is AWESOME! Genoa Salami Smoked Ham Capicola Roast Beef Turkey Provolone Dressed. Beautiful! I usually get the Gourmet Veggie Club, not because I abstain from meat, but it is quit a fresh sandwich and has guacamole included. Give Jimmy Johns a try, I believe you’ll like it. B.E.D.

They pride themselves on being fast — too fast. I ordered a sandwich sans mayo or their mayo-like toppings. The kid making it had it out before I finished getting my change. He then tried to scrape the mayos off the bread. When I saw that, I ask for them to remake the sandwich from scratch. They did, but just too stupid that this had to happen.

Blah! No Flavor Boring Yankee food! Terrible service from the kids inside! And there is actually a sign that says«no hippies allowed» at all of their stores. Im not a hippie, but why would a sandwich shop discriminate against anyone coming in hungry to buy food. In addition to their plain, and bland food. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone with taste buds.

Alright Drew Brees, I’m a believer now. I thought when it was announced JJ would be opening in NOLA, that it would be a failure, or at least not live up to the hype. We’re used to po-boys and muffalettas, what would the point be of opening up a regular sandwich shop? However, over the course of a couple of visits to this particular JJ’s, I have come to understand. Last time I went I got the Bootlegger, which was fantastic. They use a mayo that’s thinner and has more flavor than stuff slathered on at other places, and the meat is piled high here too. The bread was this thick kind of wheat bread, so the flavors when all the ingredients were combined was great. There are many other sandwiches that I have yet to try. The Bootlegger is #14, and Brees seems to dig #9, which I have not tasted. The service is fast, and there’s plenty of seating. This specific location is in the Elmwood area, so it’s competing with Five Guys, Chipotle, and Theo’s, but I think it holds its own. I’ll definitely be going back next time I’m in the area.

I’m not crazy about Jimmy John’s. Yeah, they’re fast. So is Subway. I find the sandwiches to be very bland and boring. Maybe I’ve become spoiled by all of the ridiculously delicious po-boy options available elsewhere. I don’t know. And yes, the bread is good. But the bread is good all over the place down here. That’s not really enough to reel me in. The last time I was there, I tried to order a sandwich without mayo and that kinda threw everyone into a tailspin. They kept trying to push me to order one of their plain sandwiches instead of what I wanted. I never really understood why it was such a big deal. I know I can’t be the only person who doesn’t like mayo. On the plus side, the employees are always nice, so an extra star for that.

Subs so fast that they make you freak, That’s the motto at Jimmy Johns. I was glad when they opened this one up by where I live. They are definitely quick on the draw when it comes to making sandwiches. Talk about good, they make some fantastic subs. They got a big variety of subs, they even have a couple of vegetarian sandwiches on the menu. I guess that is good for people trying to eat healthy. You also have the option of substituting the sub sandwich bread for whole grain bread or a low carb lettuce wrap. Besides the healthy food options the price is incredibly reasonable. Most combos including chips and drink are usually under $ 10. That is really good for people who are on a budget. In short this place has speedy service, good food, and lots of healthy options.

I had seen the TV commercials on this place, and I was in the area so I opened the door to see what it was all about. There were about 5 – 6 staff that pounced on me telling me how good the food was… this was as soon as I opened the door… they were not the staff behind the counter. I tried to figure out the menu, and one of the guys kept telling me how good the bread was, and how good certain sandwiches were, and the chips were the best. At that point, I should have gone with my gut and left. I said I wanted the roast beef and was asking if I could add a pickle and all of the sudden the sandwich appeared. I really wasn’t done asking what I could add to the sandwich. I guess you order a certain sandwich and you get it as is… no additions or subtractions. I got the sandwich(which was OK – would have preferred more taste – BTW, they don’t have salt and pepper). I also paid 99 cents for a whole pickle they cut into fourths. The chips(salt and vinegar) were the worst chips I have ever had and I threw them out. I also got a soda. My issue with the sodas is the guys that are making the«quick» deliveries out of the store are also getting sodas for their quick deliveries. They need their own soda machine. I had to wait for three guys to get several sodas for their deliveries. Wen I was looking for napkins, I asked the guy that pounced on me when I entered, and his response was: «oh they’re over here(by where they make the food) – you have to ask for them.» Really??? I have to ask for napkins? Won’t go back.

Fast, friendly service. Very clean and orderly. Pretty good prices for what you get. It is a sandwich shop, after all. I’m not sure if this was an option, but I think my sandwich could have used some toasting… I will have to see if that’s possible next time. The thing that really gets me is their advertisement for easy delivery… when I tried to order online on their mobile site, it was non-functional. Buttons wouldn’t work properly, and I was left in the cold and sandwich-less.

Let’s be honest their subs are nothing amazing but they are better than Subway. The service is amazing and you get your subs faster than you have time to pay sometimes. Awesome. The price is reasonable as well. I will go back.

I don’t usually go to sandwich shops because why would I pay $ 5 for something that I could make at home for less? I was thinking exactly this as I was dragged into Jimmy John’s by some co-workers during lunch. So why am I giving Jimmy 4 stars… the bread! They have the best sandwich bread of any shop that I have ate at. Subway seriously needs to sneak in here and steal the recipe because it is the bomb! Why not 5 stars… because they are stingy with their vegetables. I ordered their veggy sandwich and found that it only contained tomatoes and lettuce, and not much of either was on the sandwich.

Hello, Jimmy Johns! Reasons to go: 1) Clean store… in Avondale area… let that sit and simmer for awhile 2) Friendly service!(See above note) 3) Fresh, quality food! Try the gargantuan… wow! 4) Healthy options aplenty if you’re the dieting type. 5) Cool atmosphere/over-all feel 6) Military friendly; go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! 7) Fast service Reasons to avoid: 1) You miss rude staff and bad attitudes 2) You miss service when staff texts while serving simultaneously 3) Parking is an issue in prime lunch hours.

Greetings from the Tuna Lover: First of all, I am extremely harsh on sandwich shops with tuna as a selection; they never really appeal to my senses but Jimmy John’s tuna on wheat is addictive. They are on the order with subway but on a more gourmet scale. Bread is always fresh with a very good wheat option. Cheese choices include provolone which made my sandwich extra especial. They also have sprouts to add to your order. What really sealed the deal for me is the drive-thru. Employees are always well — mannered and professional even though they fast track; it’s like an assembly line back there. Chips are fresh and healthier than the choices at subway. JJ’s also delivers to places in the area. This fresh gourmet sandwich concept is what the consumer appreciates. Especially Tuna Lovers like me!

Any of my friends will tell you that I love Jimmy John’s. It’s true, I can’t get enough of the sandwiches. Why such dedication in the land of the po’boy? Because it’s different. Now there’s a JJ right by work. Previously I had only seen their location on Vets and Houma. This one is much bigger with two sandwich counters and tons of tables to dine in. Judging by the mass of people around lunch time it’s also the busier of the two since Harahan is filled with offices. I haven’t ordered delivery to the office yet, usually It’s an excused to step away for a bit. Bottom line is that this is exactly the quality you expect from part of the Jimmy John’s chain.

Customer: *places order* Cashier: Your receipt and your order will be at the end of the counter. Customer: *walks to end of counter and picks up sub* How in the hell??? DAMN thats FAST! Don’t knock Jimmy’s for their subway style food prep. Izzo’s is the same thing and no one is complaining. I love their menu. Great selection, good prices, and its fresh(fresher than any subway I’ve been to.) I got a Vito which is an Italian sub. This is THEONLY place I’ve seen an Italian on the menu in NOLA. No, a muffaletta isn’t the same. I want a SUB with oil/vinegar and hots, not pickled olives! The sub was very good. It did lack a little meat, but I’m not a fan of overly stuffed sandwiches. I was full and satisfied with the portion. In fact, I could do without the chips next time. I like Jimmy John’s!

Yay another Jimmy John’s. I’m less excited about this one than I was about the one on Vet’s. I no longer have an insatiable craving for JJs, so the 2ndNOLA metro area location just wasn’t as epic. However, still great food, and still freaky fast. I love my Turkey Tom without Mayo.
